Need help to fix my 838 Pro

Hi guys,
my phone is 3G Australian DOPOD, I used SSPL and flash it to a chinese ROM. When I tried to flash it back to the English version, something gone wrong and I was in the recovery process. The program on my PC said recovery was completed and ask me to re flash the ROM again, and I did.

But the program said invalid vendor ID. So at the moment no matter what ROMs I've tried, no luck.

Currently the phone can boot on the HTC splash screen, but can not go any further. Because I can't boot into the phone, my phone doesn't have connection to the PC and I can't flash anything at all. Any idea how to fix this?

you mean by pressing and hold power, Com buttons and use the styler do a soft reset?

if so, yes after doing this, the phone will is in the tri-colour screen showing the

IPL:
SPL: 1.09

at the bottom it shows serial, if i plug in the USB it indicate USB

that's about it, the phone will do nothing, no matter what I press once the tri-colour screen appear. the only thing I can do is use the styler press the soft-reset button at the bottom of the phone.

I've been reading most of the messages from the site, can't find any solution to fix my phone other than bring to the Dopod service.

Just hope someone can help me out to repaire it other than bring to the service centre.

by the way, if I can go to the tri-color mode( I think is the bootloader mode), how can i check out the CID on my phone? i did a bit of reading and found something relate to CID issue. However, I think i'm dumb or missing something important from other posts, I can't manage to find out what's the CID on my phone.

is there any hint for me ?????

Tried the Micro SD flash.. no good.

when I was in the tri-color mode, it start to checking the ROM, after checking, a message said

00028002

Not allow


and my phone went back to tri-color mode again.

any other ideas to fix this? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, First downgrade you SPL through one of the SPL applications go for 1.04 or 1.06 try(SPL-1.01MFG_Pack) then flash with Dopod original ROM. Should work!

The problem is I can't get into WM5 and the active sync can't connect to the phone, so I can't downgrade to any SPL, therefore, no matter what SPL applications and would not work i think. Unless you can guide me to the right application and let me know what are the steps to downgrade, because I'm a new to this, so a lots of things on this site is ver usefull but I don't really understand them at all. eg.. the mtty program's code/command.

PS: by the way, i've tried the mtty--info 2, my phone doesn't give me the CID, it shows some code (not in english, like the computer code). Is this mean my CID is corrupted? How can I change the CID if is stuffed???

Ok, because you did not load HARD SPL first go to the bricked hermes threads. Use the HERMES WIKI to get there. Hopefully you did not completely kill your phone. ;)

Well.. i'm in the How to unbrick your bricked hermes page.

and found that my SPL 1.09 no OS, no GMS, KITL enabled, so I will try to method of using KITL+PB and flash 1.11.Oli and hope I can fix the thing.

PS: when I first tried to find out if my phone has KITL enable or not, the phone isn't KITL enable, but somehow I tried few times and the phone was enabled the KITL, because i can see the message "Select KITL Transport".

Hi guys,

Just got my phone fix from Dopod. it cost me Big $$$$$, need to get my mainboard replaced.

here's my story.......

I did the ROM Upgrade. During the upgrade something gone wrong and my phone do not have the CID anymore. Since the phone can't bootup at all, so I can't reinstall the new ROM.

I took it back to DOPOD for service, they told me I need to replace the mainboard (Which cost me $$$$$$) in order to get the phone fix.

Because DOPOD told me to replace the mainboard, I just don't get it if my phone got stuffed up during the ROM flash, isn't this a software problem???? How could this stuffed up the hardware (Mainboard)???

This is probably (maybe) caused by creating bad NAND blocks - I don't know much about the Hermes hardware but if you want to find out more, Pof has written various posts about this, and also MikeChannon is a hardware guru - search out some of their posts/threads.

As for flashing, you may have been able to recover depending on your SPL version etc. Before you continue flashing, have a good read of Mrvanx's upgrade guide and also Olipro's hard SPL.

@superfilm968: yours is the typical case of spl-1.09 without KITL and radio screwed because you flashed rom containing radio with htc_boot 0106 when you had htc_boot 0108 on it.

This is completely a software problem, but the service centre always replaces mainboard for this.

I didn't reply to you before because you started a new thread and I generally only reply on the bricked devices sticky thread at the top of this forum for this matter.

At the moment there is no way for us to fix these phones via software, only htc can fix them because they have the proper keys to sign. However i'm working on a solution for this, which will be suitable to unbrick this type of brick, so you could have saved the money by waiting.
