Well, i have send a mail to Piel Frama, i was wondering of they are also
making a perfect in leader build case for the Ameo or HTC, i got a nice
reply returned.
So let's wait for the good news :)

Nice. I also emailed Ruben yesterday asking the same question. :-)
Maybe we should use this time to provide this vendor with some input. Request things we would like to see in an Athena case by compiling a list from interested members then send this to Ruben. What do you guys think about the idea?

Great idea.
First request has to be - magnets to hold the keyboard in the case, and not a nasty plastic sheath like on the otherwise excellent PDair case.

Of course, we must have a belt clip.
No plastic cover for the screen please. I haven't had a case that has plastic for the screen that I've liked. I always ended up cutting out the plastic. I like using the screen protectors better and allows you to actually tap the screen without issues.
Place a plastic see through "window" on the case to be able to view the "status bar" when the phone is "closed". I would like to be able to see this area when having the phone closed while in its case.
Mesh covering on the speakers. I don't like to cover the speakers at all but would like a mesh covering to protect it without hindering the sound.
If I think of more items I'll post them.
Edit #1: No flap (closing snap or whatever it's called) on the case please. As with the original case, this isn't needed and I see most others have this. It just gets in the way and is annoying and not necessary for this phone.
Edit #2: Maybe a plastic insert for the clear plastic end of the keyboard to avoid scratches on the device. This is a bit stretching it but I'm posting the recommendation anyhow.

personally, i think most of the Athena owner won't really want belt clip, it's too heavy and big to use it that way, and also most importantly, there is just no suitable place to allocate the belt clip, if the belt clip is under the screen, then the surface is not flat anymore therefore you can't use the keyboard.
Personally, i think 80% that Piel Frama Case won't have a belt clip.
p.s. I know a few members here in this thread will want to prove me wrong, well, all i can say is time will tell.

The great thing about the Piel Frama cases is that the clip is optional. You don't have to attach it if you don't want to. If you do want the clip, you pop out a little plastic thingy and screw in the clip "wheel" and use a clip...so this solution will work for all...hopefully. :-)
Edit: Here's an animated GIF of how the clip system works on their cases... http://www.pielframa.com/Animaci%F3n%20grande%20pinza%20super%20nueva.gif

Well done, hopefully he will look here and see what options are possible as they go to design? I definitely DO want a belt clip, as where I work I need both hands, but would like the Ameo handy when it's needed!!

I want:
Mostly as per the PDair case - I like the protection at the front of the Ameo.
Magnetic keyboard attachment, magentic, slide or push clip latch to keep it closed.
Belt loop, or another method of attachment that doesn't leave a component on the case. No pegs.
I don't like the status bar, I don't "use" it per se. It wastes backlight, running the whole screen, and isn't visible in the case anyway.
Of course, I really want it to be Not As Good (or just the same) as the PDair case, so I don't end up spending YET MORE MONEY! ;)

Man, don't you peoples' pants/trousers ever fall down from weighty clip ons? There's NO WAY I could clip the Athena. My pants would come down to my knees!

Do me a favor and also e-mail him to refer him to the post so he sees more interest in customization of this case.
Thnx

I actually wear pants that fit like they are supposed to. :p

For me, the three things I'm looking for in a case are:
1) Something like the pdair case covering the housing of the phone in leather so the keyboard plastic bit doesn't scratch the screen.
2) Clip/latch to hold the thing shut.
3) Magnetic keyboard holder.
I personally don't need a belt clip, but any company that made it optional would probably be selling a lot of cases at the moment!
P.S. Has anyone noticed that Proporta are working on a case at the moment? It's on their website, but sadly no pictures yet.

All good idea to refer him to this post.
The belt option is no solution for this type of device i thinks
indead to carry a brick on you pants is not the way.
I think there should be made a wallet like case with the option to take
also some memory cards and other stuff in it, indead avoid the plastic
holder for the keyboard.
this case looks very nice.

I think that a belt clip or at least an option to have one would be a great idea. Would mean that the case would appeal to more customers from a marketing side of things. I would wear mine on a belt clip at work and then prob put in my pocket in the evening.
I wonder if anyone would make a leather case just for the screen without the keyboard? Id like to just carry the screen around without the keyboard, yet id be worried about the screen being protected when in my pocket.
So funky new case is a great idea, lets hope and im sure it will be a smart case :)

The case that comes with Athena is very good when you want the whole thing with you. What I would like is a case that allows me to only take the phone part, not the keyboard. Something slim that protects the screen. It would allow me to safely take the Athena with me when space is sparse.

Just an idea; instead of a clip, why not two loops along each shorter side thru which we can put our belt through. This must be on the side that holds the PDA and not the keyboard. I know this sounds confusing so I have endeavoured to show what I mean via the attached picture (using original picture from proporta website). The advantages:
1. As the loops are on both sides there willl be no imbalance in getting the keyboard to work on a flat surface.
2. Less chance of the loops getting broken (I broke 3 clips on my Universal, coz I run for the bus and this put quite a stress on the mechanism)
3. The Athena can be "hung" in a way that to see the status bar one would just have to tilt the device slightly from the belt.
