WM6 to WM5

Hi,
I have flash my hermes to wm6.0 using the hard spl menthod.
But now i try to use the dopod 838 pro original wm5.0 rom to downgrade but it won't allow.

so how do i downgrade my 838 pro from wm6.0 with hard spl to wm5 ?
for your info i flash the 838 pro according to Mr. MrVanx's LVSW Upgrade Guide.

Extract the NBH and use CustomRUU to flash it.

If you want a brick-safe downgrade, take only OS, ExtROM & Splashes from your dopod838 rom and create a NBH only with this, then flash it with CustomRUU.

Just as an FYI this didn't work for me as I had upgraded my bootloader too.
If you are in the same boat do a search for 1.10 OLI boot loader, install that (very quick), then grab your original ROM (from the wiki page)

This touches on a question that I have seen bounced around a good bit but never fully answered. If we upgrade our device to HardSPL and then to WM6, is it possible to take our device back to stock conditions including the stock SPL as well as the Stock WM5? Ie, is it possible to get the device back to a state where we can simply download the .exe file from HTC's website and run it in order to re-flash the phone?
