I think I remeber you from the days of XDA-II :confused: so you have been around long enough to have benefitted from the works of Buzz, Pof etc. They never charged anything for their work. Could you please make it FREE or just some TOKEN for this. Mine is already unlocked free.

That's way too steep - T-mobile UK will give me my code in another two weeks for £15, which is reasonable at this early stage in the Ameo's lifespan.

Yes, it does work, no problems - apart from the planned charge of $100, which is waaay too expensive.
Realistically though, that is no longer my problem, as my Ameo is unlocked ;p

Not with a SIM-Unlock, you need CID-Unlock for that.

Does the phone show any signs of life at all?
Is it acknowledged by windows when connected to your pc?

If not you're probably screwed. If you can get the t-mobile/windows boot screen you can try a hard reset, but if that doesn't work you may have to wait till the Athena developers come up with a CID unlock solution and try and flash it.

I can't imagine why unlocking the phone would cause it to brick unless he's done something in the interim.

If your friend received the phone from T mobile through upgrade, he can just ring up T mobile service and ask for unlock code. T mobile will release the code and charge 15 pound extra in his next month's bill.

Yes, I agree. I did so and received my code this mornig. Tupisdin's solution is even better then the one from IMEI-Check. You don't need to temper with anything, just put in the code and you're free!

I had been watching this thread and would have preferred to make a donation of £20 here but as Tupisdin started off at $100 it kinda put me off. Cid mean that you can flash your device with any rom.
In exemple if you have a tmobile ameo and you want to upgrade your rom with a
a dopod u1000 rom you can do it only if devide is cid unlocked.

Hi all. We have already through donations to the Athena project secured and provided Olipro with an Athena device for himself...if you still want to show him your appreciation by donating to him personally, please feel free to...but there is a second part to this project..namely ROM cooking for customised ROMs.

This is why we need more donations to Midget_1990 for his Athena. Please donate in his signature to the Athena Project. The money will go directly to him for the next developer Athena. Please spare some cash for this as this will complete the projects 2 fold objectives, namely;

SIM & CID unlock our Athenas - Done! by Olipro

Custom ROMs for our Athena - NOT DONE! We need device for Midget_1990

After this has been achieved, please feel free to donate as much as you like to the developers personally, but for now we need to stay focused...otherwise all we have is an unlocked Athena with WM6 ROM...there's even better to come.

Being a Junior Memeber, why would you bother someone on the forum to E-MAIL you the files when they are readily available here.
