Hi Friends,
I am Shailesh Ashar and this is my 2nd app. ( 1st being Group SMS details of which can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306682 ). OK guyz , this is a big one (atleast for me).
Whats the App:
CallFirewall basically rejects unwanted calls.
Features & Options:
a. Accecpt all calls - pretty self explainatory
b. Accept call from My Contacts only - accepts calls from contacts only, others are rejected
c. Reject all calls - pretty self explainatory
d. White List - accepts calls only from the white listed nos
e. Black List - accepts all call except from the black listed nos
f. Black List Pattern - any no STARTING from the black list pattern list is rejected.
for eg. if you enter "123", so all nos STARTING from "123" will be rejected
this is a very nice option with which you can block nos from any particular network, country, city , area or whatever you can think of.
Finally there is also an option to reply with an SMS.
IMPORTANT:
1. To Delete Blacklist/Whitelist Nos TAP & HOLD the stylus for a few seconds to get the options.
2. Autostart - Create a shortcut to Callfirewall.exe with 'startup' as parameter (without the '') and copy to windows/startup/
3. Please uninstall previous versions before installing ver 1.3
4. Also Delete Callfirewall.xml from the Root folder. Previous versions Callfirewall.xml will not work with ver 1.3.
5. The XML file for 1.3 and 1.4 are compatible.
KNOWN ISSUES :
1. One Ring Delay in Rejecting Calls.
2. Ongoing call -> Blocked Caller Calls -> Existing Call is Hung Up.
3. Problems with some Radio ROMS where the caller identdification is delayed by Windows by a couple of seconds.
PLEASE DO NOT MAIL ME COMPLAINING ABOUT THE KNOWN ISSUES.
Ver 1.4
----------
1. Selective Call Barring.
Now you can restrict selected outgoing calls.
2. Add outgoing calls as Appointments.
Ver 1.3
----------
1. Added SMS Black List
You can add numbers as well as names.
eg. you put 'abc' as name, then all smses starting , ending and containing 'abc' as contact name will be blocked. The same works for numbers as well so beware.
2. Added Silent Startup - Create a shortcut to Callfirewall.exe with 'startup' as parameter and copy to windows/startup/.
3. 'Add as Appointment' Timings can now be adjusted by minutes ( + or - ).
4. Appointment is now saved in format: "Call from : Mr.X NUMBER Accepted/Rejected", Category : Call Firewall, Reminder Alarm is not set.
Ver 1.2
----------
1. Added option to reject unknown / private / withheld nos
2. Option to Add Accepted calls as calendar appointment
3. Option to Add Rejected calls as calendar appointment
4. Toggle Option to show 'CallFirewall' in 'running programs' / Task Managers
5. Save User Settings so that it remains intact upon restart.
6. Completely revamped UI to accomodate new options.
Ver 1.1
----------
Also added an option when selected, will ask you whether to send an SMS when a call is rejected
SmartPhone Version 1.2
-------------------------------
I have ported the PPC version to SmartPhone as is. So essentially all the cons as well as issues with ppc have also been carried fwd.
I'll be working on all the issues and will also be incorporating some of the new features and suggestions listed by you all. So please keep the feedbacks coming. Also, I am doing this in my free time so pls be patient with the updates.
From now on Both PPC & SmartPhone versions will be updated hand in hand.
Please give your valuable feedback / Comments / Suggestions
Why Free:
I have taken a lots of info from this forum so its a kind of payback !!!

Hey that sounds cool.. (especially the "FREE" part :) ).
Anyways, a request/question.. Is it possible for you to embed an "Interactive" functionality to the "Reply with SMS" option, i.e., when u miss/dismiss/ignore a call, it should ask you whether u want to sen an sms or not. (Just like SPB Phonesuite)...

I dont know how much sense it will make but if many people want it i'll definately do it.

I dont know how much sense it will make but if many people want it i'll definately do it.
Actually, the reasoning behind this is that while one is busy, or otherwise, if one doesnt want to take a call from a few ppl but he/she would not want to send a notification sms to all of them. and smtimes to the same person u might not want to send an sms and smtimes u might.. Many ppl I know want this feature especially those for whom sms is quite expensive (e.g. for me an sms is even more expensive than calling up the person for 2 minutes)
I dont know how difficult it would be to implement this.
One possible way would be to check in the registry whenever u miss a call, it would trigger a function to pop up the yes/no kinda dialogue/notification to send an sms to last missed number. (From the way SPB phonesuite works, I think that this is how it implements this).

Both the apps are written using managed code so it will take a while to load.
I am not sure but if u install .net cf 2 on device instead of storage card then it should make some difference.

c. Reject all calls - pretty self explainatory

Pretty self explanantory, but are they completely rejected, or do they get sent to your voicemail service (so you can pick up your messages when you've finished your meeting)??
Just wanted to know - and I also like the suggestion by @searley; if the call is from a withheld number (i.e. caller ID is "unknown" or "witheld"), it would be nice to be able to add that as an option either to the program or to the black list.
Nice looking application anyway, will give it a go!

Hi searley,
you might be getting something on display ( unknown or private ) when receiving withheld nos.
So, if u put the exact string "private" or "unknown" in the black list nos, it will block those nos as well.
Be sure to be exact and mind the lower and upper case as well.
I cannot confirm the above bcoz the country i live in does not allow withheld nos., so i cannot check.
Somebody kind enough can check and pls report here.
Technically it should work as I have mentioned above bcoz i am getting the phone no strings from the OS and I am checking against ur contacts/ black / white list.

I use Sprint PPC 6700, stock battery, WM5, 2GB SD (i aways install everything to SD) delay on startup is minimal compared to winamp, skype, or camera. I have been waiting a LONG time for something like call_firewall V1.1 . Thank you very much, where can i send donation. Only critique; when adding from recent call list, would be nice if I could select which call from which list. The reply with SMS is FANTASTIC! Sprint has free text-to-landline feature so all rejected calls get SMS no matter their origin. Would be nice to have 3 predefined SMS replies to black/allow/white/reject lists. When in a meeting, "friends" get friendly SMS reply but telemarketers get "F-You" SMS. Willing to support development.:)

I am from Australia, private number come up as Unknown. I have tried this in the black list and it does not work. Worse still even when reject all calls is selected, the unknown numbers are still allowed through.
Great app, if that bug can be sorted, will be perfect.
Let me know if you would like further tests done.

hi, nice little app.
a couple of things on my wishlist for v2.
1. a way to somehow start automatically on startup, such as making it a today plugin. I know u can put it in the startup folder (which I have done), but it would be great to not have to tell the app your preference each time.
2. already mentioned b4, but I'll say it again, a block sms feature.
3. as the app must be running in the background, a button to minimise or send to background or something. at the moment you have 'about' and 'deactivate' mapped to the softkeys, and for those of us with 'x-button' running, the x button stops the app. some othe method of minimising would be excellent.
anyhow, just a couple of suggestions. keep up the great work, love the group sms too. if u need a tester, pm me.

Reject all calls will essentially reject all calls, there is no way any calls will be allowed, i urge u to check again.

Sure,
I would like the ability to not receive SMS's from people who are not in my contacts list or any other list (Black, White, ect.)
Stops spam SMS's and nasty ex-girlfriends. An option to route SMS's to a "special" folder (ie so that the current girlfriend doesnt see them) would be nifty too.
I was just seconding the call from meehaa earlier in the thread.

Quick question....Are the settings not stored anywhere? I checked the registry and could not find them. Basically, I would like to add a link to \Windows\Startup so the app launces on boot, but if the settings are not stored then it makes this not work. This will also play a role in the usefulness of the app for people who want to build it into roms.
Ah, and one suggestion. Perhaps you could have the app minimize to the tray where the status of the app can be indicated in some fashion. You have your color scale, perhaps have the tray icon reflect this color to allow the user to see what level they are set on. A today plugin would also be nice, but may be overkill for an app like this.

Can't figure out the problem in ur case.
Thousands of downloads and yours is the first complaint i have recd about the app not working at all.
The problem might be with the ROM, CF2 installation , cant say untill i see the device ( which is not possible ).
Have u tried installing it in some other device successfully, i mean ur friend's or anybody else's ???

This program looks almost like the software I am looking for, maybe you could add these fetures into your next version...
To be able to activate diferent blocking rules by TIME and during the BLOCK time silence ALL sounds from the phone except when a call comes in from the allowed numbers.
hopefully each day can have a different time to block or at least weekdays verses weekend
Thanks, Rick :)

For the same reason to record the missed call. To have a record of it so you can go back on it on your Outlook. There is an app that does this already but the person who wrote it, well, let's just say that it takes a lot --maybe too much-- memory for doing just doing that. This apps does a lot more so even if it used some a bit of memory it is at least justifiable.

I already asked this (as did @searley) - on page 4 - and Shailesh said it should be possible by adding "Unknown" or whatever to the blacklist - see >HERE< (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1269705&postcount=29) for his response.

Great application.
Two things to consider for the next release.
1. In most cases I can hear the first ring for the rejected call.
2. Program should start with last remembered settings. This would allow to scheadule an automatic start, ready to block all unwanted calls, at given time using another great app - runeveryday

Awesome. Its getting better and better. Keep on good work.
Is there a possibility to close the application using an option switch?
Something like CallFirewall.exe /exit
I'm using call firewall to start automatically at 8:00am and I would like to see it switching off at e.g 14:00.
To get it started I use runeveryday. It could be also used to exit if there was an option in the program to call it with exit switch.
Next hint is to add profiling. A user could load a different profile depending on the current need. If the program could start from the shortcut with a profile selection option if would be fantastic. E.g CallFirewall.exe /profile_at_work
You could consider to add the scheduler straight to the callfirewall.
Edit.
Next idea is to have a drop down list for pre-defined sms messages so instead of typing them from scratch a user could pick it quickly from the list that he has created.
- on the meeting
- on the go
- on lunch
etc
Thanks and regards

Looks like a great app!
After seeing this & being out last night I got to thinking.
I have this "problem" that only happens Friday-Sunday starting at 11pm Friday night. I need to be able to blacklist sending SMS/txt messages to a group of people between a certain time of the night. :p

I think IMHO, that an app like this should be cooked into new ROM's, only because it's perfect for PDA-type phones, and a great app! :)

In version 2.1 evrithing is fine just the automatic sms reply dont work. But working if you switch the confirmation option and then press yes. I tried in reject all calls mode and black list mode option, no go. I hope you will solve this bug. I have LWSV WM6 latest rom, if this help you and the HERMES phone.
The aplication is very nice, keep going that way. I just report to you the bug :)

Hi,
What phone do you have ? I am shure you dont have Hermes, do you ?
I am just traying to help you with this projects. Dont be mad at me, but on my Hermes, sms sending dont work. Lets just wait what will others report about sms sending on Hermes. In version 1.1 sms sending works OK, but the content of SMS message is gone when i close aplication and run aplication again. I check in your xml config file and the content of sms message was NOT there in 1.1 version. In version 1.2 all content including SMS was there but dont work. I like this aplication but .... good luck.

Hi Drahtman,
Nothing to get mad at u.
I would like to reply as follows:
1. SMS sending is working properly, I have checked with a couple of guys with hermes.
Technically it has to work the same on all the devices b'coz i have written the SMS code using Managed Code. Managed code will work uniformly over all devices unless ur .NET framework is haywire. Any technical guy here will bet on this. u can try re-installing .NET CF2.
2. When u change a setting and if u directly choose 'Quit' from the Menu, it wont save the settings, u have to 1st choose 'Save & Minimize', only then ur settings will be saved.

I am trying to make it as efficient as possible. It all depends on when the OS gives me the 'incoming call' signal.

This app is to block 'incoming calls' and u want to block 'outgoing SMS' !!!
I got ur point here but since Alcohol is involved u might deactivate the thing and still text those 'group of people'.

An unexpected error has occurred in CallFireWall.exe.Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.

Alright, I have tried to keep up with the thread, so forgive me if this has been mentioned.....
I am having a problem with having this app built into a rom. I have it set to create appointments for calls, but they are 5 hours off. For reference, I am in the Central US time zone (GMT-6). Is there an adjustment I am missing or a reg I can change. Like I said, this is built into a rom so I am not sure if that is causing the problem as well.

When does the app take the time?
Here is what happens...On boot, the time is set to GMT -8 I live in GMT -6 so that is only two hours difference. However it sets the appointments for 5 hours in advance. So, if I get a call at 1:00PM it sets the appointment for 6:00PM. Now I have reminders going off from calls 5 hours ago.

It takes the time from the OS at the time of adding appointments to the calendar.

Yep, the time on the device is correct. I will try to get you a screen shot or two to show you. Where in the OS does the app get the time from. Maybe I can track down the error there.
I attached two screenshots. One shows the time and the appointment entry. The second shows the corresponding missed call in the call log.
I have also noticed and issue with calls dropping. This happens when I am on a call and another call comes in and is rejected. The original call is hung up on.

I am using a function System.DateTime.Now to get the current time while adding appointments.
This is a .NET function to get current time and date.
Have u tried it on any other device ?
I have checked the appointment thing with many devices and it seems to work correctly.
Saw the screen shots, there seems to be a problem somewhere.

i would pay to see a option that would allow me to add people to a special black list, so that when they call it would not redirect them to my voice mail but rather answer saying " your custom message here " then hangs up. Or instead of saying a message just hangs up..
reason being i have a few bill collectors that call like 375 times a day, and they leave a message every time.

Or did u forget to 'hide' the app from running programs ?

What u r asking for is a answering / semi answering machine which i think is not possible on HTC devices. It has been discussed earlier by experts that a semi answering would be possible but it would require tinkering with the radio rom which is beyond the scope of anybody here.
What I could do is play a sound file after automatically picking up a call but it would require the speaker volume to be high so that the person at the other end can hear. It would be really stupid though.
What best I can do is give u an option to 'pick up and hang up' the call immediately for special black list. This will not redirect them to ur voice mail but will waste a call on the callers end.
If u r interested in such a thing then PM me to negotiate the deal.

Ok, I pulled it out of the rom and just install manually. I can confirm that it still sets the appointments 5 or 6 hours in advance depending upon the time zone I choose. I tried with different timezones and still get the same result. I will keep testing this to see if I can narrow down the problem.
Also, I believe that I mentioned this before, but there is a huge issue with the app blocking calls while in a call. For instance, I was just on the phone with my girlfriend and had call firewall set to "contacts only". While on the call with the GF, a random call (probably bill collector :D) came it. The call firewall did its job and rejected the incoming call, but it disconnected the whole call. Thus, I hung up on my girlfriend. I am surprised that this has not been an issue for others. Perhaps it is just in the way the Apache handles calls.

I have noticed that the app seems to quit on its own from time to time and does not restart on reset.
Well I discovered something on this issue.
The problem is with installing .NET CF 2 on storage card.
If u r running any .NET compatible apps and if u remove ur storage card, the apps automatically close off without any intimation. This applies to all .NET Compatible apps.
This nature is by Microsoft Design and I cannot do anything about it.

Hi Shailesh Ashar,
Thanx alot for ure programm, really great.
Two Sujestions:
1- Is it possible to make all the call requests act with calendar. Ie: at night, between 11PM and 7am all calls are rejected but some defined contacts ( or groups) my familly for exemple.
2- The second is about call forwarding. a defined call from a contact/group/hidenNumber will be forwarded to another number/canceled/rejected with SMS
So by that your programm will be the best call filter/manager programm ever made for PPC.
Thanx alot and good luck.

I'm not sure if I missed it in the thread, but could you make the whitelist option the same as the blacklist?
I'd like to be able to add patterns of numbers instead of just using the my contacts option. Unless it's not working properly on my Tytn, no pattern I add to the whitelist works. The call comes in and is sent to voicemail after two rings.
I'd also like to add my vote for a time-based call-enabling/-blocking option similar to SmartFilter Pro.

I dont have bill collectors, but small business sales people calling my cell phone all the time, trying to sell me this and that. Most call from anonymous numbers, which I do not answer anyways, but I would love to be able to just have it hang up on them so they cant leave a voicemail...

Hi Shailesh,
Is there any possiblity of releasing a version which runs on Win Mobile 2003 SE ? Even it means having to scale down on the features ?
Or is there a way I can upgrade mine to WM5 ?
Thanks.

Depends on which phone model u r using, u can upgrade to wm5. Read the wiki for ur phone and flash wm5 / wm6.
It is not possible for me to write an app for wm 2003 bcoz the sdk doesnt support the functions i use.

Hi and thanks for a great program.
How about adding functionality that automatically activates the program on certain days and hours.
f.eg.
Checkboxes for weekdays (mon-sun) when the program should screen calls. In addition also the timeslot. F.eg. Activate at 20:00hrs Deactivate at 07:30 hrs.
With such functionality one could f.eg. reject all work related calls after business hours and weekends automatically.

Sounds like a great program, not tried it yet, but think there's 1 thing which i'd love to see. The ability to send people on whitelist only (not all rejected) an sms when you cant take their calls. kinda like "Sorry, in a meeting, will call back later" message?
Either that or any chance you can open the source up for others to add this feature?
Thank you

Awesome app shaileshashar. One of the things I've missed since moving from my Palm Treo to my WM5/6 HTC Wizard is Treo CallFilter (http://www.velocityware.com/callfilter/cfinfo.htm).
The two features that CallFilter did really well were:
1. Rules-based filtering, allowing you to build up sets of rules and store them in profiles for rapid changing of settings
2. The ability to use contact categories for filtering
The first feature was awesome as I could get the best of many worlds, such as explicit balcklists, explicit whitelists and everything in between using entries with wildcards.
The second feature was really good, as I then simply added contacts I didn't want to speak to to a 'Do Not Ring' category and they were automatically filtered.
Anyways, just thought you could use it for inspiration for a future release. Keep up the good work! It's developers like you that ensure the community don't have to pay for features (SPB Phone anyone?) that should have been in the OS in the first place.

If the features can be same as MagiCall, then it would be nice:) What I think is missing from Call Firewall is the schedule setting.
I also found a problem whereby when all call is rejected and I choose to set it as appointment, but the date and time was incorrect.

Hi,
When the call is rejected, what will the caller hear in his/her phone?
A busy tone?
I am not sure if that feature has been added, if not then it could be good to have an option: [ ] Send busy tone to rejected call

Nice app so far, keep up the good work!
It's working great on my Artemis, which is running WM6 with B&B 4.0. I only have a few issues with it, and I think they've pretty much all been mentioned before:
It doesn't start automatically after a reboot. I've added a shortcut to the Startup folder, but that makes the Call Firewall UI load up every time.
Blocked calls still make the phone ring for a second, and also get added to the missed calls list. Blocked calls should not make the phone ring at all, or appear on the missed calls list. However, there should be a log of what calls have been blocked somewhere in the Call Firewall UI, so you can see what was blocked, and when.
There is no option to allow the user to choose between sending blocked calls directly to voice mail, or blocking entirely.

Thanks for the great prog. It is indeed a very useful for me. Only want some of the features which has been previously discussed here:
1) when activated I want to block instantly without any ringing or delayed ring. At the moment blocked person can hear 1/2 ringtone before hangup. I feel stupid answering them later that I had minor problem with phone (always :-)). It should sound and feel like no network! ie instant voice mail/hangup. Is it possible now with any kind of registry? or are you thinking of implenting in future?
2) When adding to blocklist, numbers should be exactly i.e with all brackets and dashes. It would be better by contact name. I sometimes forget the bracket and receive annoying calls.
Anyway just my thoughts and opinion which others will also find helpful.

couple of things...
it doesn't start up on it's own, I've manually put a shortcut in the startup folder
the appointment is created with a 15 minute reminder time that is pointless since it is created live.
The appointment title created is too long, it makes it hard to browse through them. Perhaps just "Call from: ..." instead of "Call Firewall Accepted ...." as the title and the category of "call firewall accepted/declined"

The reason I bring up the reminder timer, is than when the phone is synced with outlook, I get the "Overdue reminder" for each call.

I think a tray item (by the softbuttons) for the prog might be more efficient and it would be harder to close... some cool icon like a wall of fire with a colored phone handset that shows the firewall mode (whitelist/blacklist/etc)

maybe not as entaled as an outlook app to show this...
the previous page shows a really busy outlook with overdue msgs...
even though it would be neet to have that feature, it is kind of over-kill for what is actually needed.
like for example :.
the black/white lists are kept in \\my device\\ in an *.xml file,
well what if the same feature was used to log the call, time, action, duration....
instead of it bogging down outlook with overdue headers.....
t would be in a file that you could have for future refference.

I just switched from Call Firewall to CallCalendar by KingFetty, and am using the firewall in SPB PhoneSuite, but having a no frills callblocking app would be nice.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but when I'm on a phone call and someone in my blacklist calls, the current phone call gets disconnected and the blocked caller gets allowed through.
On a side note do you think there will ever be an option to "pick up and hang up"? an ex-girlfriend mode if you will, this way they don't have the option of filling up your voicemail box. Just curious, keep up the good work.

Sorry for typo in title. I meant to say black list. :)
I don't want to know if a number is getting black listed. In other words, i don't know any notification at all. No ring, no missed call, no voice mail.
I only want the phone to hang up on the caller when it's on black list.
Is this possible?
Also how do I block a whole area code?
For example: (703) 383-7268
If I add in black list pattern 703, how does it know if it's an area code or the actual number?
What if I want to block an actual number that starts with 00 and not the area code?
Example: 704-002-4638
Thank you for the great software.

Hi all,
I try to use this program to prevent me from unknown calls. But this feature works not proper:
If I select "Accept All Calls" and check additionally the option "Reject Unknown/Private Calls" then each ring of such a call will happen for some milliseconds.
If I select "BlackList" and add to this black list "Unbekannt" (because German) no call will be blocked.
How can I set up this tool to a proper work?
Is it possible to get the source code so that I can check the problem by myself?

Hello,
I've a suggestion for this excellent soft and job.
Added an option which switch from one to another mode in few different hours.
Example :
On the week
8am : switch to all contacts
18PM : switch to white list or black list
On the week-end
all the day with white list (or another)
I 'd this idea when using this program which does this thing but for WIFI/BT/GPS :

Any chance you can add some feature so that when you are on a call already and a call waiting call comes in that will be denied it doesnt drop the exisiting call as well or just have it do nothing?
Not sure if this is clear so i will try to be specific.
I am talking on the phone.
Another person I have blacklisted calls activiating call waiting alert
Call Firewall notices I dont want to talk to them so it denies the call
The current call I am on also gets disconnected.
I am looking for a way around that.

Having 1 small issue tho. When saving call to appointment book, the incorrect timestamp displays. Its a 5 hour difference, if it helps im in NY with a GMT-5 Eastern time setting.

Hi,
I've found an incompatibility with the international prefixed numbers, 'cause MSOutlook puts (for me in Italy) a "+39" prefix to the number thus the nos from the mobile company arrives as
[B]"+39338xxxxx" instead of "+39 338xxxxxx"
stored in the contact list and your software doesn't match.
The matter is that we, poor M$ users, can't remove the blank space because it's a compulsory format by Outlook and the phone accepts this in its matches.
Please, consider doing a match by trimming all blank spaces from the string found in contacts!
Hope was useful!

I used to use a Motorola I95 (about 6-7 years ago) that had a call filter function on that phone that were very similar to this software. What I loved most about that call filter was that it also didnt have some of the most annoying features of this software (the 1-2 rings that black listed callers hear on their end) in that all black listed calls kicked STRAIGHT into voicemail (whereas caller THINKS that your phone is either out of coverage, turned off or out of battery, unlike this software where the caller hears 1-2 rings and feels you hit the "ignore" button on them). It also didn't have the problem of having black listed numbers that calls while you're in a call disconnecting your first phone call. Granted, I understand this is a free software (and I do appreciate it), but it just brought up memories of that call filter (which was especially great when you were hanging with the boys and needed your phone on but didn't want to receive calls from your old lady), that came with the I95 and makes me wonder why all the new phones that came after it don't have that call filter feature built in...

I Love The Program As My Hermes 100 / Att 8525 Dosent Have Option To Block Specific No's. It Would Be Great If The App Had An Auto Launch And Minimize Feature... I Have The File In My Startup/windows Folder And It Starts Up After A Soft Reset (after A Backup Ect...) But It Dosent Minimize... It Would Be Cool If It Had A Toggle To Run In Background.

I have a suggestion for your app. I would like to be able to handle different groups of telephone numbers during different times and/or days (i.e. work related telephone calls being blocked during nights/weekends). If you add a way for me to do that, that would be terrific.

hi,
excellent tool, very useful.
would it be complex to add feature to disable ringtone and/or vibrator instead of rejecting the call ?
use case : my boss is in my whitelist. in meetings, i want to make sure that he can ring me and I hear it. for other calls, I've my Touch on the table as can see other calls coming, and decide whether to reject or take it.

Hi.
This is a great app. Thank's.
I use Dutty's rom V4.
The SMS function only work if I set it to ask.
Just check the SMS answer dont work.
The Dailer in Dutty's rom have the send SMS and reject function built in
so I have no use for it to ask before sending the sms.
Any idea why ?
Best Regards Carlis.

Tried putting some numbers in the blacklist part and it doesn't seem to work. Calls still ring through. I have it set to "save and minimize" so I do know it's still running.

Hi installed v1.2 on Athena a month ago and worked fine at the beginning. After some time the blocked numbers were again able to pass the call firewall.
I did minimize and hide the app. Somebody having same problems?
Will there be a function to export and import all Blacklist numbers? It's not easy to type and add all Blacklist numbers after Hardreset.
Hi all,
I try to use this program to prevent me from unknown calls.
Is it possible to get the source code so that I can check the problem by myself?

where is version 1.3 for smartphones?
That was what I ask myself too, just now while looking at it:D
But since this app is using .NET and the version of .NET in my S310 is "old" I prefer to use the "TEOG" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301288&highlight=Teog) free call filter which is written in C# and doesn't need .NET which saves space!

Having trouble setting up the "silent startup". I've got the shortcut created, but I can't add the "startup" parameter to it. Can someone please give me a nudge in the right direction, please?
EDIT: I've tried using Total Commander to change the properties of the .lnk file. I changed the Target from:
\Program Files\CallFirewall\CallFirewall.exe
to:
"\Program Files\CallFirewall\CallFirewall.exe" -startup
but it automatically removes the first quotation mark, leaving:
\Program Files\CallFirewall\CallFirewall.exe" -startup
and then the shortcut doesn't open CallFirewall even when I double tap it from Total Commander. So now I've just got the Target set back to the default path with no attempt at using the "-startup" parm, and a soft reset pulls up the CallFirewall preference screen as expected.
Thanks,
Jeff

It should look like this, without hyphen:
"\Program Files\CallFirewall\CallFirewall.exe" startup

I tried using:

I tried using:

but the first quotation mark keeps getting removed after I "OK" out of the shortcut properties window.
Could this be a bug? I'm using a Kaiser with the original HTC rom, and WM6.

I'm not trying to flame here, but let's be honest with ourselves.
You say you will not release the source because of the possibility of taking it commercial.
I'm sorry, but this app is not going commercial. It is managed code. There are many far superior, native alternatives. There is one reason that people use this app: it's free.
So please, stop kidding yourself and release the source already.

There is some very tricky code that I am doing in here, which i do not wish to disclose.
Part of this code will be used for commercial apps if not the entire app.

Hi,
First, thanks for creating this!
I have a suggestion for a new option... Rather than "ignoring" people on the blacklist, I would like it to pick up the call and immediately hang up. This way I won't get a voicemail either.
Thanks

SmartPhone Version 1.2

PREREQUISITES:
WM5 / WM6 ( does not work on WM2003 / 2002 )
.NET Compact framework 2
I meet both of these prereqs. However, when sync the three files with my TyTnII and I open the setup file a .cab doesn't run, which usually happens with all the other applications I've installed. I have no idea how to install this but i want it badly. Please if anyone has instructions it would be greatly appreciated. Please email me
