i dont undestand why i need to plug my headset ind my HTC P3300 in order to hear radio on the phones speaker..??Because the aerial (antenna) for the radio is contained within the headset. Without the aerial being connected, the radio would not receive a strong enough signal for you to be able to listen to it.

Yes it is possible to alter a value in the registry, so that the device believes the headset is plugged in when it isn't, but it's a pointless exercise as you can only recieve static and white noise on the FM app.
As discussed here (http://www.modaco.com/P3300-FM-Radio-Alarm-LCD-Clock-t254346.html).

Out of curiosity, with the headset connected and listening to the radio via the loudspeaker why does the device continue to output sound thru the headphones as well? Isn't this just a waste of power? Anyone know how to disable the headphones whent eh speaker is being used instead?
