I am releasing this just because. LOL.

This has Camera 3.0, MMS, X-Button 1.0, Voice Commmand 1.6 and a few other registry fixes.

Live Messenger works
A2DP files were pulled from my Vanilla release and seem to work.
Wireless Today thingy installed but disabled.
Nothing removed.

Camera Themes work
IE works

You know what I like to release...
Clean + Working.

this is not meant to be a permanent ROM. This is a stable base for chefs. Please do not use unless you know what you are doing.

I cannot be held accountable for any damage this may cause to your device. Use of this ROM means that you claim all responsibility of crap that happens. I will try and support this as much as possible.

Ext Rom - Not enabled.

and matt...... ive been feeding off your posts to make mine ready. I just tend to work a little faster than most. LOL. Plus, I almost got fired today for working on this release for public rather than internal release. LOL. So, i needed to get it out there so i can stop neglecting my job. LOL

X-Button 1.5 causes issues as i have found out. So im gonna leave with this till the Today button thing has been fixed. As for VoiceCommand, I use it since im lazy and I cant figure out what else to put in it.

I dont understand? what do you mean wifi from battery status?

MaciejN
17th May 2007, 02:24 AM
Battery status has tray icons for wifi, bluthooth, etc. If you click on the wifi icon it should toggel wifi on and off. This should work but does not until you click wifi using comm manager. Faira calls the pre loading wifi.

Greetings NTS!
When you say "A2DP files were pulled from my Vanilla release and SEEM to work"...mmhh does it actually work? I'd really like to know this because my wizard is also my MP3 player and I use it with my bluetooth headphones...so u can see that A2DP is very crucial for me as I have no other MP3 player except for my wizard..I'd really like to try out ur rom but I just wanted to know this first...ur NTS Vanilla based on the mun's had EXCELLENT A2DP! No skips whatsoever!
Anyway...my wizard's been acting up lately and thought I'd try a new rom...so even if I don't get an answer it's cool...I'll still try it out and find out myself...thanks!

Hi. I like the VC and everything else (except the voice speed dial) you put into the last ROM. Moreover after the phone gain fix and a couple of other minor user fixes, it all works and is very reliable. Even the radio 2.19 now seems good after I switched to 2.40 and then went back after missing calls (maybe superstition, but reloading seems to have made it better ;-0 ).

So my question is, what is different about this new one? You have near-infinite credibility based on your last rom, so would appreciate knowing what is here (or is it just the minor fixes to AGC, camera, etc.?).

Thanks. And certainly do not neglect your wife!

Hello NotTooSmart,

i'm trying to build my own ram. Can you post some fixed oem-packages for the camera, mms etc so people can make tere own rom's?

Also a oem-package for the 10-button com-manager would be great.
(Does this rom has 10-button com-manager?)

Also i like the sound of you putting a clean rom without voicecommand and helpfiles and windowsupdate etc....

Tnx.....

Two things in this rom are not good for me:
-during the call i switch the volume to the maximum but after every soft reset i have to do it again.
-I can't make the keyboard as default input method, after SR i have to change it again.
Any sugestions?

And one more - i think that midlet maneger is a part of HTC customization.

Thanx.

Any possibility of you uploading any of your new roms. I tried pandoras box kitchen, it keeps failing at 2 %. Anyway I reflashed to NTS - Stable Ground 5.2.1413 Build 17913.0.3.0. Its a solid rom, but if you buld a better one I want it.

NTS - I pulled down your "MyOS" rom and so far am really happy with it. Quick, stable, working great - until I tried to pair it with my BT headphones. Do you have A2DP in your "MyOS" rom? I really should have looked into that before I flashed it. If not, is there a packaged version from your Vanilla ROM that I can install without needing to cook & flash a whole rom? Thanks - Dan

I dont have a2dp installed. and Stable Ground wasnt built with Pandora's Box. That was built with my old kitchen lol. As for A2DP, I dont use it so i couldnt tell you if it worked or not. All I did with Stable Ground was take the required files from my vanilla and put them in there. I didnt even add any reg keys. Im pretty sure you could do that with the current os too. NTS,

Can I ask two questions: one simple and one difficult :) ?

Here is the simple one: there is a poll about "the best" WM6 ROM, and two guys speak very highly there about WM6 NTS Edition. Is it one of your ROMs?

And here is the difficult one (at least, difficult for me:confused: ): I installed the above ROM (WM6 NTS Edition) and it works fine except for one strange problem: I used to install all my additional software on my SD card and it worked fine with all my previous WM5 ROMs. However, it doesn't work with WM6 (to be more precise, with that particular WM6 ROM: I haven't tried any other WM6 ROM). Here is what happens: the software does get installed and works correctly but after a soft reset it gets completely destroyed (either it doesn't start altogether or it shows an error message).

Would you (or somebody else?) have an idea what could cause this behavior and how to fix this bug?

Many thanks,

LK

I had the same problem. I tried messing with the registry settings, and that seemed to fix the problem.

Here are the two keys that I set to 1 (originally 0):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms]
"HTCPreloadStatus"=dword:00000001
"HTCPreloadWifi"=dword:00000001

Try and see if this helps.

Many thanks, NTS, for prompt reply. Sorry to hear about your SD card.

Your Wizard_NTS_1010811_21911 is a nice and stable ROM (except for that SD card bug); thank you and congratulations.:)

Would you be willing to post a list of your ROMs with a brief explanation of what's the difference between them? It would be very useful to many people (like myself :) ).

If somebody (again, like myself :) ) would like to try another one of your ROMs, what's the upgrade procedure: is it the usual "flash stock ROM, then flash the new ROM" or you'd recommend something different? (it looks like some people had problems migrating from/to some WM6 ROMs).

As to SD card: is there anybody here who has an idea how to fix it? or where else I might look for a solution?

Many thanks,

First, to clarify: This bug showed up in WM6 NTS Edition ROM Wizard_NTS_1010811_21911.exe (not Stable Ground) and I don't know if it shows in Stable Ground as well.

Does any of the software you install to your SD card load on the today screen? It's been my experience that any software loading as part of the today screen should be installed in main memory. I love all my SPB programs, batterystatus, and anything else that loads as part of my today screen into main memory. Give that a try.

No, none of the software in question (QMail, Opera, CitiClock, CityAlarms, Metro, Map 24, MortPlayer, AlarmClock...) loads to the today screen. So, I think it's a systemic problem. But yes, once the software is installed in the main memory, it does work correctly even after a soft reset. I did install all the above packages in the main mem (except for QMail) but I was hoping to find out if Stable Ground (or some other version of WM6?) is free from that bug for two reasons: 1. The amount of main memory is quite limited; and 2. Once the software is installed on the SD card, it is usually (but not always) not necessary to reinstall it when upgrading to a new ROM. And it is clearly a solvable problem since all my WM5 ROMs worked fine with SD-installed applications.

BTW, what ROM you're running? Would you care to test if it's free from that bug?

mebobola
28th May 2007, 03:48 PM
I don't see any of those problems and I have used at least 6 different WM6 ROM's. I am currently on Stable Ground and my METRO, eDictionary, eWallet, Listpro, Pocket Streets, MxConverter, Pocket Stars and Tweaks2k2 all work from my SD Card without installs.

Thanks for the feedback, Mebobola. Do they work even after you do soft-rest with the side push-in button?

If they do, I guess there are just two options: Either it's the particular ROM I'm using, and I should try another one; or else it's the way my SD card was formatted (it was previously used in and formatted with a digital camera). In the latter case, would you happen to know how to (re)format the SD card so that it wouldn't lose info upon reset?

Interestingly, other info on the same card (music files, photos, PIE temps) remains intact; it's only programs that get corrupted (!).

Thanks again,

LK

Yes, they have always worked after soft reset or hard reset and even after new ROM flashes. I did have to reformat my SD card a few months ago after a nasty accident with Pocket Mechanic (never defrag your card). I copied all of my files to my PC and then used RESCO Explorer to reformat it and copied it all back. My SD is only 1 Gig as well.
Good luck,
Matt

Many thanks, Matt - that's very useful. If you were to guess, where you'd say I have a problem: the ROM or the SD card?...

BTW, there is another thread in this forum where quite a few people do complain extensively about SD cards' inability to survive soft resets under WM6 - while quite a few others report having no problems whatsoever. It seems like higher capacity cards have more problems, esp. 4GB ones (mine is 2GB). Several people do believe that it's a ROM issue but it looks like an open problem...

Thanks again,

lkmda

Hi all,

after reflashing Wizard G4 (IPL/SPL 2.21.0001, radio 2.61.11, CID locked) to Stable Ground (via ShellTool) automatic re-pairing to BT GPS receiver has stopped working. I.e. after each soft reset I have to pair again manually. With original O2 ROM and Wizard Love everything has worked fine.
The issue is though not critical, but quite annoying. I also see that in some other WM6-related threads the phenomenon is described, but there seems to be no known workaround/patch. Is there something that in the meanwhile appeared to solve the problem?

That's my reason to go back to WM5, all of the WM6 rom's I've tested have this problem.
