Anyone with cingular experinces similiar situation as me and recently I updated a new sim card and my phone is now showing ATT with underline instead of Cingular.

Oddly my buddies has alpha logo showing as AT&T but mine is showing ATT with underline in last letter T.

Yep. My Cingy 750 now shows ATT w/underline in the carrier line. The underlined T is just a botched translation of the "&T" in AT&T. It has no negative impact on the phone other than cosmetic.

Same here, I hear it has something to do with WM5. I'm assuming it should be resolved with the WM6 ROM upgrade in the future.

I suspect that I know why the T is underlined:

In windows apps, you can have accelerator keys for menus. For example, the File menu can be accessed as ALT-F.

For the programmer, he indicates which letter should be used as the accelerator key through the use of the & character. So, File would be &File, and this would result in the F being underlined to show it was an accelerator key.

I used to use AT&T dial-up internet access; windows would automatically underline the T in the name (hiding the & in the process). I suspect that the same thing is being done by Windows Mobile 5.

Windows Mobile 5 interprets the & sign to mean "underline the next character". They are "SUPPOSED" to fix this in WM6.
