Okay, I updated the first post with a .ZIP file. It includes both the RUU (Splash1/Splash2) and CAB (WelcomeHead) files. Glad you guys like them.

I've got an unlocked (CID/SIM) G3 and worked like a charm..

Also got an locked G4 grom a friend; and flashed Core2n on it with the shelltool... The first screen is still T-mobile default; therefore i hope this RUU works on a CID locked G4.

As long as these are nothing but splash screens (just splash and htc_logo) in the nk.nbf, then these are safe to flash directly to a G4. If you get an error about invalid update tool, then you need to use a different RUU. Go to my Crossbow Reloaded thread, and read the 2nd post. I have info on flashing to a G4 and a link to a different RUU that works (this will also work to fix Radio Only roms if you get errors on a G4 trying to flash them):

But for all G4 owners... You have to make sure there is no IPL/SPL in any rom before you try flashing or you will brick your phone! I can't be held responsible for using any of the tools on a G4 and it damaging the device. I'm just passing on information, but keep in mind, I own a G3 and have NEVER flashed a G4 myself so have no real experience with them... (just had to state that as a CYA... ;))

THere is a process for creating splash only screens for Hermes. I have no clue if its the same as the Wizard, if the offsets in the nk.nbf are the same, etc... I would not try to flash this to a Hermes unless you REALLY know what you are doing... There are threads in the Hermes area for how to do splash screens.

I love the screens, but is it possible to switch screen 1 with screen 2. That way the AT&T one stays up longer than the htc one. I though thats how it was going to be. Sorry. I still love them though.

Just use an editor like GIMP or somesuch to do the editing. Then you save them as .bmp files. Here's a link to how to make the .nb files and then RUU:

Ok, copied the files from the first post, and erased the carrier logo on one. Here's a zip file that has the RUU to flash where the first splash screen is the HTC logo and the second screen is just the Windows logo and no carrier (so very plain). You can then use the cab in one of the provided files to get the 3rd spash screen... Also in my zip is a copy of the generic splash.bmp.

Sorry about that. I didn't get a chance to test the RUU and just assumed it worked. I must not have had the size correct on the first image.

@inneyeseakay - Nah, not meaning to take over, I just saw the request for a blank one and thats easy. I'll let you do the real artwork ones :)
