My SPV M3100 phone keys jammed - Called Orange in their wisdom sent me a replacement spv m3100. I 'spb' backed up my data - not thinking nor really caring to sync my phone with outlook. After all I have been backing up my data on my card and saw no reason for doing - unless I needed. (My computer outlook data looks like Yellow Pages , and didn't want it on my phone)

The phone arrives - I restore...To my horror! No contacts!!

I call orange - no bloody help!- level 2 technician has just painted finger nails and has no idea of problem and puts me on hold for 30 mins, call drops. Call again - advised me to visit retail phone shop for old model, so that I could migrate my data from card to an older version of the phone.

Did that! Spent 4 hours wondering phone retail outlets restoring phones, but all I came up with this is not the same device HEME100 -Not that I want to spend my life talking to a bunch of numbnuts (although - one guy I came across should have worked for NASA - pointed me in the direction of ROM upgrades)

I Realise that the problem lies with a change of pim.vol from one version to another and have spent the evening downloading and installing an array of ROM downgrades, upgrades and side grades. Non of these seem to work with reloading pim.vol - it appears corrupt and the pda flashs before going to normal screen.

Phone's not interested in the orange backgrade - I am fed up - spent two days trying to resolve problems. IS THERE A GENIUS OUT THERE WHO CAN ADVISE? - PLEASE HELP!

A Distraught Soul!!

Have you tried a partial restore?
Did you create a full backup? It is possible to backup everything except the contacts etc..

Only things I can think of for now :(

If you want to pay for it, just upload the file somewhere and reward the person who's able to send you the contacts back to ya
