1) Make a folder in C:\ to make it easier, call it keygen.

2) Put your Western_Europe.mid (or any other map.mid) file in there and Key.exe (the keygen) in there.

3) Now open command prompt "Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt.

4) Then type as follows cd C:\ [Press Enter]

5) Now you will have C:\> in command prompt.

6) Then type: cd keygen [Press Enter] : You will then see c:\keygen>

7) Then type : Key.exe Great_Britain.mid [Press Enter] : (Don't forget the space between .exe and Great.)

8) Then put in your code ID """

You are requesting info on obtaining/activating pirated software.

That is against the T&C of this forum.

If you bought the software, get TomTom Support to help; if not, buy the software.

That's right, don't go hunting for illegal stuff here. If you are at all handy with a search engine, you can find just about ANYTHING on the internet.

lmao A developer is allowed to post tomtom links as he likes

this is a case of:

one rule for one, and one rule for the others i guess ;)

That is a matter for the moderators I guess.

There may be little 'damage' to TomTom in posting the application file in its latest guise, because the app itself is not subject to the copy protection on individual devices.

With TTN, the activation license is linked to the maps, so had the ROM Cook posted links to cracked maps, that would be a different matter. The post starter was asking for keygens for a map, not the app itself.

Isnt this no different to distributing cooked ROMS which is in breach of software licensing and also regarded as piracy?

I think this is partly the fault of the draconian methods tom-tom use to "protect" their software. An example:
I have a tom-tom GO300 with full European maps and tom-tom Home on my PC.
I then bought a Trinity which came with tom-tom Navigator pre-installed. When I connected the Trinity to my PC tom-tom Home fired up and asked if I wanted to associate this device with Home. I clicked yes. What I didn't know, and I don't recall any warnings, was that now my account was locked to the Trinity. All the "PLUS" services would no longer work with the GO300. So I told tom-tom of my mistake - their response after e-mails and letters? Tough - wait 6 months and change the association back to the GO300.
That is why people try to crack the codes in my opinion. I haven't, I've bought another cradle for the car and will use the Trinity for now. But it is so very annoying.

I agree entirely- TomTom are having big problems with some current WM6 ROMs changing the Device Code; while they will 'agree to provide a new activation code', allowing TTN to be used, TomTom Home sees the new code as a new device; you can associate it to TT Home, but if you regress to an older ROM, you can't re-associate TT Home, and TT suppoprt refude to help.

In your case, you own 2 legitimate TomTom Products, yet TT Home is too limited to recognise the fact, and TomTom too stubborn to see the problem.

Snorkel69- that is a moot point. The fact is that the various ROM's are being offered free of charge in many cases. Our devices include a license to use the operating system, so we could argue that we have a right to use the OS, if not technically the upgrades. They can't be purchased as stand alone products- if they could, then I'd agree that the same principle would apply.

Providing pirated copies of commercial software, regardless of our feelings for the company concerned, is not acceptable.

You should know the site policy - no keygen or warez - thread is now closed
