I was just curious is there a way of updating your mda to windows mobile 6 with a cab file instead of an installer, because my usb doesn't sync with the computer but it still charges. So i'm asking if there is a way to do this, please post.

Sorry mate, you cant update an OS by cab file. You can get the look and feel however by installing some cab files. There's some nice cabs on the forum somewhere (cant remember exactly where!) that will change your today screen, system icons and sounds to make it look n sound almost the same.
If you want the real thing though, you'll have to update the rom via activesync.
Hope this helps..
P.S. Why dont/cant you connect your phone to your PC (apart from charging)?

Unless you have a tool to write a WM6 image to a SD card in your PC, then install the SD card in the PDA and load via posted SD load procedure...
At this point, I don't think such tool exists, but I could be wrong...

Your phone may not sync, but can you put the phone in bootloader mode (turn it off, pull out your SD card, and then press the camera key and turn it on, and you will be at the rainbow bootloader screen)? Put it in Bootloader then plug in the USB cord. If you see USB in the lower left then you have enough of a connection to flash a rom (ActiveSync will not connect in this mode either, so don't be surprised by that).
Just a thought...
I also assume you've tried other USB cables and plugged it directly to the back of the computer and not through the front or a usb hub?

Have a look here;

There is a way to backup a rom to an sd card and then extract that image from the card but I've never tried it.
So in theory you could ask some kind soul to make an sd card image for you that you could extract back to a card and then flash your device with it....
