Hello,

I have upgraded my Swedish P3600 from Brightpoint.se and I just figured the HTC Streaming Media is not working. I am on the Swedish 3 operator and before flashing the latest official firmware I had the Streaming Media working like charm by installing the app from this forum and renaming the language .mui files for english menus.

Now i cannot seem to get this going after the flash and using the included version of the same SM app i had before. VERY annoying!

When following a rtsp-link in PIE the SM player is started and says "Connecting..." for about 10 seconds and then there's an error saying "There was no network" (translated from Swedish). I am connected with HSDPA and i have also tried with plain 3G and WiFi. I have no other problems when it comes to data call, the internet sharing works like charm and so does all other applications.

Streaming radio channels are working through WMP, so there is no problem with streaming in general. I have reviewed the settings in Streaming Media and tried all the different settings with no luck. The version of my SM player in ROM is 2.10 build 202.715.

Since the SM player I had installed prior to flashing the new firmware was working flawlessly, i figured i should try overwriting the StreamingPlayer.exe (version 2.10 build 915.622) along with the .mui and xml file. The player started OK with the updated exe file but showed the same error, no network connection.

The only part I figured that I should also try overwriting the RTSPHandler.dll or whatever its name was. I was searching through registry for all of the settings to see if something was missing or differing from the previous install I had it working, but no luck there.

I tried to install the "838Pro_Streaming_v210.cab" whole application as well to manage the same registry settings I had before, but the cab installer told me i didn't have the authority.

Any input on this or anyone having similar traumatic experiences with Streaming Media? Possible solution?

Grateful in advance!
