This ROM is based on the official German O2 ROM:
http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/xdaorbit/index.html
- replaced the localized packages
- removed the O2 operator package (Settings and O2 Theme)
Big thanks to rvbcrs for helping and mirroring
I don’t have an Artemis... ok, my girlfriend has one, but she would kill me if I use that... so the ROM has not been tested.
Please report all problems here.
!!! This thread is not for questions about unlocking the device !!!

---updated---
Thought to try using the PDAMobiz package and replace the ROM and give it a try even though it's based on pdocwrite.. Result is an error during writing at some time.. So kids don't try this is you don't know how to recover using the bootloader or you'll have a brick.
------
I'm actually flashing it at the moment... I hope I won't regret this..
... but somebody has to try..

Hi,
Can you tell us how you flashed it ? From bootloader results in a CRC/Certificate error.. Using pdocwrite (modified from PDAMobiz) resulted in a somewhat delayed write error here.. So what did I miss ?

Requires a reset here since the os.nb/windows.nb update never finishes visually.. After that it works fine (after the reset needed during the missing bmp when customization attempts to start), exactly as you described.. Works great :)
For those wondering.. Works fine under Vista (32 bit version).. No idea about 64 bit version.

I tried to flash it yesterday with the updaterom.bat file and it just stayed copying to my phone so I thought it did not work, but after killing the process after 25 min and resetting my phone I had WWE WM6 on my Artemis, still I think it is strange that pdocwrite never finishes. Apart from that great ROM some minor issues..

I suppose you really know how to do this stuff. Can you tell me which tools I need for "cookin" my own ROM? I'd like to have it in German and with my own Ext ROM, maybe I can get rid of some apps that waste my RAM. I only need the names of the tools, I'd guess they are on the xda-dev ftp server. And how do I extract the ROM from the installation file? In your signature you have a nice GUI for the Hermes stuff, is it the same for the Artemis. If you want you can send me a short PM in German.
By the way, the link should be: ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Artemis/arte.zip thats what people say about error 530

about extracting the rom: Open the RUU exe using WinRAR and extract the nbh file. There are nbh tools to extract the OS.nb.

yes, that is possible... but there will be this error if you install the ext rom too

that is because of this two lines inside \Extended_ROM\Config.txt

but it is possible to edit the Config.txt inside the ext rom...

I have a UK CID-Unlocked Orbit,
So have I got this right?
1) Install the official Geman WM6
2) Extract os.nb, rename to windows.nb, flash with UpgradeRom.bat
This flashing for some reason does not complete.
3) I hard reset the device, then when I get missing bmp error, soft reset
4) Done

Same problem here... installed german O2 rom with no problems, then downloaded ARTE.ZIP, put the OS.NB file into the same folder (after unzipping off course), renamed it to Windows.nb and started the Romupdate... stopped with an error and now after Hard and Soft reset it won't get past the boot screen... HELP.... All I see is the O2 logo with the IPL, SPL, GSM and OS info... that's it...

It looks like it is a problem with the newest Itsutils or with your cable, if you use the arte.zip as found on the FTP (someone wrote it some posts back) it wil work. There is only one problem the copying of the rom will never finish atleast that is what itsutils reports, but if you wait for about 20 minutes and then just press reset on your device it is WWE.

Flash with German rom

Thanks bepe, you are the best! Is there somewhere a documentation how to change what?
The easiest ist the Splash-Screen since this is already there. Is there a connection between the MainSplash.bmp and MainSplash.nb? I'd suppose that I may need to change both to convert the Splash Screen correctly. Splash Screen is the second right, so boot screen is something else, I'd guess hidden in the ext-rom.
Would be cool to change the Ext-ROM and so on, I'd help building files.
Does anyone know if Windows Live works with those cooked ROMs?
By the way, that's what the package tool tells me, what does it want from where?

Thanks bepe, you are the best! Is there somewhere a documentation how to change what?
The easiest ist the Splash-Screen since this is already there. Is there a connection between the MainSplash.bmp and MainSplash.nb? I'd suppose that I may need to change both to convert the Splash Screen correctly. Splash Screen is the second right, so boot screen is something else, I'd guess hidden in the ext-rom.
I dont know how to do this... my tools work only for the os.nb not for extrom nor Splash
Would be cool to change the Ext-ROM and so on, I'd help building files.
I think it might be possible to edit the extrom using WinImage... but the problem is how to flash it
Does anyone know if Windows Live works with those cooked ROMs?
Yes, it should be working
By the way, that's what the package tool tells me, what does it want from where?
...
all modules seem to be missing... you dumped it the wrong way, you need to use mamaich's IMGFS tools

Hallo to everyone Again ...
How I have wrote before, I had a problem with booting device after installing WWE, but now I found how to do it ...
1. Install T-Mobile original ROM
2. Install Artem version (wwe version) straight away ... don't install German version ...
Now everything working fine for me ...
Cheers ...

About the Ext-ROM: There are some highly modified ext-roms in this forum, I this for the Wizard or the Hermes, maybe both. They have their own programs in that, how is that possible, any idea? I'd be glad if every time I have to make a hard reset all my programs I need are preinstalled.

WHAHAHA
I tought...what the hell...and installed this rom succesfully on my CID LOCKED device only using the arte.zip method. Only error so far was with the automatic configuration after the hardreset --> it stuck. Then I softreset and all still goes well so far :D
So...check out my new signature :p
Explain? You've got a CID locked phone and could install this rom? Are you sure it's CID locked?
Also you've got the original Dutch HTC P3300 and not the Dutch T-Mobile MDA Compact III?

I tried overclocking full install, UK tmo-> windows.nb, UK tmo -> o2 -> windows.nb.. And all compbinations of the above things, but still no luck. Keeps freezing and is then stuck at bootloader..
I put UK tmobile back on the phone, it seems I will be stuck with it till a official WWE rom is there..
Is it possible to repack OS.nb into the original rom update thingy?? Because german rom works fine, appart of being german of cource.. My german is a little rusty.. The only word german I know is herunterladen... :-)

Would this work....
- Find the temp folder which is used by the installer of the german version (easy)
-Extract the NBH file (using NBHextract)
-Replace the OS file with the one of Bepe
-Create a new RUU_signed.nbh (using ROMBaker)
-Start the german update (which is wwe as we replaced the OS)
This is what I did but i'm to afraid to flash it.... Anybody who will risk to brick his Artemis (or already bricked his)?
Instructions:
-Download file posted underneath
-Extract files
-Run ROMUpdateUtility

Unfortunatly, I tried this too it won't work because of the signature size of the Artemis .nbh file, we have to hack the SPL first, pof promised he will take a look at this in the next few days!

Someone may be interested in flashing your CID-locked Artemis with Bepe's Rom image. I have done this with my locked Dopod P800W. Read step-by-step here:

- Thanks to Bepe for this ROM image
- Don't forget to read may warning on the risk to brick your phone

I unlocked my device and installed the German O2 package but after that my analog dual-sim adapter is not working correctly. One card is by Vodafone and the other from T-Mobile. When I switch between those cards it still shows T-Mobile in my Display although I've switched to Vodafone. Now I don't know any more which card I'm using except I really wanna go to the telephone settings and check every time I switch my card or do a soft reset. Kinda sucks, anyone has an idea? I bricked my phone . I was able to update to three different roms with my CID locked phone, but this time it went wrong :(
But i'm lucky, I can still enter bootloader mode. Only problem is none of the original shipped roms seem to work on my Dutch HTC P3300 device, and the arte.zip tool won't recognize my phone in bootloader mode
Is it possible to CID unlock your device using imei when your phone is in bootloader mode??
And is there maybe someone who has a Dutch original P3300 rom??
Think my phone is bricked till the end of july lol, then I assume it will update in Bootloader mode

In case people come across this and are unsure what to do I flashed my cid-locked MDA compact III with this rom with no problems at all these are my instructions.
1, Download the ARTE (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com...temis/arte.zip) file.
2, Hard Reset your device (2 soft keys and reset button) once it boots back up reset just as its about to run the customization scripts.
3, ONce you have it restarted again copy the EnableRapi.cab from the ARTE zip and install it on your device do a soft reset (stick the stylus in the little whole on the lower left)
4, once it comes up again attach USB cable and ensure Active Sync has connected properly
5, copy the OS.nb file to the ARTE folder and rename it to windows.nb
6, Run the UpgradeRom.bat this will start to flash your device it will probably hang so after 30minutes unplug the cable and give it another hard reset.
7, Your device is now WM6 WWE
Hope this helps sorry if the info has been posted allready but i like step by steps and i hope somebody finds it usefull.
Of Course I take no responsibility if this method doesnt work for you but it worked fine for me.
Cheers and good luck

I am not sure if I have the same problem on my wifes StarTrek, she has the SimEmu card with 5 emulated SIM. It makes the same when she uses the Simtoolkit app for switching to another SIM.
The fastest and working trick is use the CommManager to switch the phone off and on, enter the proper PIN and the right provider shows up.

Today I was able to write the bepes WM6 ROM, although I am familiar with this way of flashing this time it wasn't so easy.
Not sure what have been wrong but I must had written the ROM 5 or 6 times.
I was always getting following ERROR:
"ITWriteDisk - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." at arround the 0x2d00000 address, dont know if it was always the same address, not sure if it was due to my battery wasn't full charged or there was something with the sectors which were kind of repaired by running the original update file everytime the boot stuck on the splash screen.
So there are few things I can high recommend before you start:
-be sure you have working update for your device (with the right VendorID), to be really sure, install the original update before you begin with writing using the upgradeROM.bat (pdocwrite.exe)
-charge the battery to 100%
-don't give up after few (5) unsuccesfull attempts ;)
The bepes file is shorter then 0x3900000, it is actualy only 0x3500000 long and thats why the process never ends.
So until bepe corrects the file you can change the command in the upgradeROM.bat
And if you want have control about the writing of the file to your phone change the command to "pdocwrite -v os.nb 0 0x3500000". The -v option shows you the actual status of writing.
I also getting the error due to missing \Windows\cusTSK.exe and \Windows\HTC_Default.tsk files when the ExtROM autorun starts after hard reset.
The solution could be if bepe can add the files to his cooked ROM.
Or you can use the steps dokumented in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1155823#post1155823 and customize your ExtROM. (Delete the row which tries to start the custsk.exe)

I used the exact same steps but still it's very tricky, my phone bricked. I recieved a REPLLOG.exe error on my PDA when upgrading. Only problem is, I don't have an original HTC Rom that will upload to my phone in bootloader mode. So i'll have to wait for retail WM6 update.. all I want to say is that flashing this one to a CID - locked is risky, and you need to be lucky ;) . If i'm right, nobody succeeded in flashing this to a HTC model?? Only Orbit's and Compacts have success!
Correct me if i'm wrong

I was unable to flash it using Windows XP, the process took only 6 minutes and it ended, after hard-reset i was stuck at the O2 screen.
Once I tried it on my friends Vista 32bit it worked fine. (Still got error message) and process took 11 minutes.

And if you want have control about the writing of the file to your phone change the command to "pdocwrite -v os.nb 0 0x3500000". The -v option shows you the actual status of writing.
Great! I have tried this and it works fine.
Is there any problem with this smaller ROM image file? Any possibility to modify the file to increase program storage memory?

I don't think there is another problem then the problem with infinite writing sing the wrong pdocwrite attribute.
With the pdocwrite is the partition on the Artemis written sector by sector from beginning so if the image is smaller it just doesn't overwrite the whole partition.

That's not true.. there are some devices that are CID-Unlocked from the factory. Some providers in some countries choose to not CID-Lock their devices. Unfortunately you can't check whether it is locked or unlocked..
I'm not going to try it just yet... haven't seen much Dutch T-Mobile Compact III WM6 Rom updates to convince me...

Well it's not that BIG of a problem, if you brick it, you'll probably be able to enter bootloader. And then you'll only have to wait till June for the official WM6 update rom from your provider. That's why I tried it, but I had bad luck, did all the precaution steps but still it failed. Happily, I can enter the bootloader, so only have to wait for WM6 retail... :)

Hmmm .... all I can say is that this has worked already on 3 P3300 devices.
Try doing hard reset (with your original ROM) -> manage till today screen -> make sure you have an activesync connection established -> then run the batch file.
Apart from that I am clueless what is happening.

1-disbaled all background-running programms
2-dummped a shipped original Artemis ROM
3- when reached at Screen calibration, I didin't proceed with anything but plugged in my PPC with Activesync, then
4-upgraded as recommended in this thread
I got the WW6 running now like a chammp after several errors.
hope someone will get anyhelp frm my experience here.

I found a small bug in WM6..
If you delete the dataconnection "The Internet", you wil see that it is no longer in the your connections tab. I you make a new connection, say t-mobile.. Programs as email will still try to connect to "The Internet" even if you set it to t-mobile.
If you then try to add the connection "The Internet" you will get a messagebox telling you that the connection allready exists..

I downloaded the arte.zip (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Artemis/arte.zip) file from the ftp and started from that one, and the upgrade now worked!
This is the full procedure (http://www.voipsec.eu/?p=92) I executed:
* Download Bepe’s WM6 English ROM (http://www.ramonshare.com/files/index.php?share=4&path=ROMS%2FHTC%20Artemis%2FWM6-By-Bepe%2FARTE_WWE_WM6.rar)

* Extract the ARTE zipfile to a new folder
* Extract the WM6 English ROM to that directory and rename the file to windows.nb
* Make an ActiveSync connection
* Run UpgradeRom_Artemis.bat
* After around 25-30 mins hard reset your device (don’t worry if the installer looks to be hanging) and WM6 will boot

Been away for awhile and just caught up on this thread. Seems quite a few people are having trouble installing this.
My MDA is CID unlocked so I was looking to give this a go.

Just to double to check, all I need to do is download the Rom and install it as normal? Or are there any other steps which I need to follow?
Any help would be appreciated as always.

Because the only posibility to resore my phone are with the shipped german rom and i dont find a copy for download.
I think you have the same problem, after you update wm6, the phone restart und stay in the boot log.
I see that many pepople have the same problem, the cause is that before you can update to wm6, you must unlock the CID (Country ID) from your phone, otherwise the phone stay after the update and you can only savage with the original rom and original language.
If you have a HTC German ROM please send me a copy, my phone are dead whitout these ROM.

Hello all,
let me tell my story. I hope it will save somebody some hours and much of headache.
Today I've got O2 Orbit XDA. Since I'm not a German myself German language is a little bit too complex for me, so I've decided to upgrade to bape's (vivat respect!) WWE (World Wide English when somebody doesn't know it already).
First I've tried to download ARTE (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Artemis/arte.zip) and bape's WWE pack and install it like it was described in the topic. Result: after around 10 minutes ARTE responded with an error, nice O2 boot screen comes with versions and it stays stuck like a bad dream mountain ;-).
To push it back I've used O2 german WM6 via bootloader (hold voice, gently press and hold reset until your screen don't become dark, then release reset and keep holding voice button until you see multi colored lanes on a display) available from their website. Now I'm happy: my device got back working. Reanimated as well. But I'm didn't got smallest step forward. Well... Let's begin to search topic more preciously.
Here i did got a trick with OMAPClock. Result: ARTE fails with error, standing mountain comes back laughing like my try was a loss. Nevermind. Can happen.
Next thing I've tried OMAPClock and ARTE got started during display crossbar calibration. Result: mountain is still here. As russian's say: the clever one will not go up into the mountain way - he will bypass it from the side.
Next one important detail grabbed from the topic: not really correct image size specified in UpgradeRom.bat (ARTE package). Well... It's becoming fixed by replace original call to pdocwrite (line 51) with this one:
pdocwrite.exe -v windows.nb 0 0x3500000
"-v" (hello UNIX ;-)) has an advantage of verbosing (v like verbose) and shilding write process pretty clever. Result: write breaks near 0x34a0000. Hell! It was really like thunderstruck from pure heaven ;-).
Sometime later I noticed: it stopped writing at the same time display got darker. What could be the problem here? Well, timeouts? Get it one try more! Yes! 10 minutes after last touch my Orbit pushes itself into the sleep of galaxies (standby!) So the final approachment was to touch some controls (like touching display or trackball in the middle) every 20-30 seconds in order not to let it go into the deep sleep. This time everything worked as expected.
Now the final guide:
1. Download and extract ARTE pack.
2. Fix pdocwrite call in UpdateRom.bat (line 51) to: pdocwrite.exe -v windows.nb 0 0x3500000
3. Extract bope WWE pack into the directory you've extracted ARTE and rename bape's file into windows.nb.
4. Now you can install OMAPClock and set the frequency to 228 mHz.
5. Start Windows Exporer and let it start UpdateRom.bat (double click).
6. Every 20-30 seconds just slightly touch a display in the shortcut free area or play a deck football with trackball.
7. After 10-15 minutes you should be done. Now reset your device simply and wait for 2-3 minutes for WM6 boot. Prepare here to be fast enough to press reset once more.
8. Now you can learn how not to leave your visit to dentist and talk to Mother Clara. When you become to see the desktop and message that your PDA will begin with installing customization packs - press reset. It is better not to mix "adult male chicken" and the dog. Voila! Here you've passed the mountain by side.
Some need-to-know:
1. O2 XDA Orbit purchased in Germany look like not to be CID locked. When somebody will tell me how do I check that - I'll do.
2. You cannot use original HTC Artemis firmware - it will begin to install and will stop at 10% telling you, your model is not corrent.
3. My try to create NBHTool package brought also nothing. Netiher HTC Artemis nor NBHTool homebrew moonshine will do the trick.
4. Homebrew package listed somewhere in this forum did not work for my device too.
Be happy with your device.
P.S. Some question (not related to this bible): phone software (dial pad, call journal, SMS and contact lists) provided with bape's package seems not to be right comfortable. What do you use?

Hello all,
let me tell my story.
Yes! 10 minutes after last touch my Orbit pushes itself into the sleep of galaxies (standby!) It works on my T-mobile MDA Compact III! But
"7. After 10-15 minutes you should be done. Now reset your device simply and wait for 2-3 minutes for WM6 boot. Prepare here to be fast enough to press reset once more." DON'T SOFT RESET, MAKE HARD RESET.

I followed the guide to flashing my o2 UK purchased phone, and it ran like a dream first time. Thank you.
I have however since found that WM6 will not sync with a Mac computer.
Before you flash your phone ensure you backup all your contacts, calendar etc to a PC. This will make restoring your valuable data a more siple process.:)

Worked for me too! I followed the guide a few pages back; flashing with the German ROM and then ARTE Bape's ROM. After a hard reset it got stuck on the o2 Splash screen with the version numbers.
SO at 4am this morning (and reading spamkits VERY helpful post) I reflashed the unit with the German ROM. When in WM6 I stuck on the OMAPClock program and set the clock speed. Reinstalled ARTE Bape's ROM and it worked first time!
Love the new WM6! Much faster and nicer looking.
BTW for all you o2 Orbit users who do the upgrade remember to re-download the 02 plugins from here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299567&highlight=o2+today+plugin
You will of course need to re-enter your MMS and GPRS settings too.

Hi there,
I've been following this thread from the begining, as I am more than interested in having WM6 working on my Artemis.
The first step(installing the German version) is accomplished, than I followed the instructions given by Spamkit. Every time I get the same error and the connection between ActiveSync and Artemis is lost.
Any suggestion is more than welcomed (although I'm living in Netherlands, my German knowledge is closed to Chinese :)... )
Thank you !

Just made it working :)....
The only thing I did is that I did not go through the first time initialization routines of the german firmware(screen calibration, a.s.o.).
To add here, the last 10Kb package transferred to the device ended up at the address 0x34F0000 (In this way you know for sure when UpgradeRom.bat finishes).
So the procedure is now:
1. Download & Install the german WM6:
http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/do...bit/index.html
!!!Do not perform any initialization, but connect it to a desktop computer
2. Download the ARTE (english) related files
http://rs91.rapidshare.com/files/32826418/orbit_WM6.rar
2. Fix pdocwrite call in UpdateRom.bat (line 51) to: pdocwrite.exe -v windows.nb 0 0x3500000
4. Start UpdateRom.bat
7. It is done when the last address written is 0x34F0000 (watch the DOS box)

For all those previous posts from UK O2 users, I've confirmed that this does work on CID unlocked UK Orbit.
At first I bricked my phone but that was because I hadn't first installed the German ROM.
So (I know it's been said a few times before now):
1. CID Unlock your phone via IMEI-Check
2. Download and Flash GERMAN ROM from O2 Germany.
3. Download ARTE WWE WM6 ROM and ARTE utility. Extract os.nb from rar file and extract arte.zip. Copy os.nb into extracted arte folder and rename to windows.nb
3. With phone connected via USB At the calibrate your screen page, run UpgradeRom.bat.
4. After upgraderom.bat has finished, hard reset your phone (2 soft keys + reset button via stylus).
Hey presto it's done :)
I now have a UK orbit with WM6 on it.
Confirmed TomTom, SPB PocketPlus, SPB Mobile Shell and SPB Backup all work fine. I even restored my contacts, email and text messages to WM6 from a backup I made in WM5. Now if only I could get messenger to display all my contacts instead of randomly selected ones!

Just to add that my MDA compact III is CID locked. SO you really don't have to unlock it. Just remember about those immedate soft-resets after each hard-reset. Good luck, Babak

Would it be possible for someone to post the Enterprise files from this ROM? The four directories Zipped up would be nice, however just the files 'ipsec.dll, ipsecsvc.dll, l2tp.dll, scard.dll & winscard.dll' should be OK.
I am having a real issue getting L2TP/IPSec working with my Wizard running ROM 5.2.1413 and have been trying other Enterprise files to see if I can get it going.
Thanks

Hi all,
After succesfully installed wm6 on my cid locked device I decided to unlock my cid with imei. After that i decided to install wm6 again but now by installing the O2 german version first and then the wwe version (so yes, first time i didn't use O2 upgrade because of my cid locked device).
Before I began i made a full backup using sprite software for all my installed applications. So after the upgrade I restored my backup and saw 1 big difference: I suddenly have 30.7 MB free storage space and before I had 20 MB free storage space. The fun part is that all my applications are working.
How is this possible? And 1 other thing...I get an error message whenever I want to add a new contact but editing existing contacts i don't get an error message. So I cannot add new contacts.
Furthermore...is it possible to replace the O2 startup screen with the htc one?

@ pelhamgw you must format first your SD card in FAT32, then put your ROM (only file called *.nbh) into SD card, and finally rename this file to ARTEIMG.nbh, then reboot and automatically ROM will be installed, but do to this, you must have first your Original ROM !!!

Hi Pocha,
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I don't have the original ROM and tried the ROMs available on the forum. The Device ID is ARTE110. When I use the .nbh files, the bootloader starts by "Checking SD Contents" and then goes to the bootloader screen (Red Green Blue White). Where can i get a working ROM for the ARTE110?
Thanks,

Did you format the SD Card first? When you do not format the card first you can get this problem that it will skip directly to the bootloader.
Try to format the SD Card put only the ARTEIMG.nbh file on it and try again. Also make sure your phone is CID-Unlocked.

In order to make a flash from SD your SD must be formated in FAT32 if you format in FAT16 will not work even you put ARTEIMG.nbh alone in your SD

Hola POF,
Great job I just read you accomplished.... If only I would have waited a couple of days more... I would have definitely used your system!
I have one question:
Does this rom have Voice Speed Dial in Start/Settings?
Normally Voice Speed Dial should be in Settings and not in Programs.
I have used Voice Speed Dial quite a lot in WM5 as I controlled almost totally by voice commands (calls to contacts, applications/utilities) my device.
I have recently upgraded to WM6 and with this rom (not having Voice Speed Dial in Settings) you open it in Programs (so you can access its function but not the configuration/options), you save some voice tags and once you have closed it you cannot open it any more to add/remove/edit voce tags....
I hope I made myself understood... Any suggestion as how to fix this is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
SiperX

Follow this:
1. Format your microSD on your computer using a card reader (IMPORTANT: Use FAT32 or the device will not see your microSD).
2. On your computer extract the .NBH file from your preferred ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file.
3. Rename the .NBH file to ARTEIMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
4. With the microSD card inserted on the phone, start the bootloader (by pressing down the Record button and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button on the left side).
5. You should see a white screen asking you “Update SD image?”. Confirm by pressing the volume slider down.
6. Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait. Complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
SuperCID devices are able to flash any NBH image using this method.
When this process is over you will (probably) land into bootloader 3-colors screen. Softreset with stylus to boot regularly to WM.
Good luck!

This is a great rom. With the USPL tool i could flash it without unlocking.
Only thing i'm missing is a Dutch dictionary for word suggestion. Is there any way to get this into my english rom?

That depends where you live, I guess. I was told that T-Mobile will create a German version for our phone, but no Dutch version for those living in Holland. Probably there are not enough sold phones to make it worthwhile. Maybe if every Dutch owner starts calling them to complain.

thanks for the reply,
i am in the UK, is there a WM6 for t-mobile UK
i think the mda compact III is considered to be a high end device and t-mobile germany has more high end customers than the UK.
i hope there are enough high end customers in the uk.

Any particular reason why you want a T-Mobile version? I mean, now that there are at least two WM6 versions in the English language (Bepe's and the Black&Blue one) which both seem to work very nicely.

Yes, in the past there were lots of messages from people about a 'bricked' phone. But now that there is a free solution to cid-unlock your phone (don't forget to send a donation, guys), a major obstacle has disappeared.
To read all about it there is 'idiot-proof guide' topic (the message from Dzim) just a few lines away, on the frontpage of this forum. The topic in which we are writing right now is in fact the Bepe ROM topic, and the PDAVIET topic is all about the Black&Blue version. Whatever you may decide, don't forget the sticky topic about the USPL from Pof. Better yet, read that before anything else.

thanks for the reply,
sp the cause for the "bricked" phone was the cid-lock issue. and once that is done, i can use any ROM.
thanks for the references.

Now if only I could get messenger to display all my contacts instead of randomly selected ones!
this is definitely the way to upgrade an XDA Orbit UK version that is CID Unlocked
mine is now in WM6 glory !!!

Ive tried this ROM on my UK Compact III and got the dreaded Out of memory error whenever I run memory intensive apps like TomTom (Which for many owners is the main thing they will running).
Anyone with the same setup got a sucessful setup?
Ive tried this rom, black and blue and PDAMobiz and all with the same result.

I have this ROM running on my Orbit with absolutely no problems what so ever. I unlocked my device with imei-check and then flashed straight to this ROM and will be sticking with it for the foreseable future.
All this after "bricking" my device and sending back to O2 for repair.

Just press the red call end button while on the today screen to disconnect GPRS. WM6 has removed the disconnect button in the pop up baloon for some reason.

I have this ROM and found that there is a GPRS disconnect now in the comm manager. Its the bottom left one below the wifi button. If you wait a few seconds it turns yellow when you go to this screen while gprs is activated. Hit that tab (has a phone and two opposing arrows) and data will turn off.

Hello,
Well, try to flash my Orange M650 CID Locked this rom but can't do it, here is what i tried :
- Took the .nb file from first page.
- Open Dutty's NBHtool (from the core kitchen for artemis), choose Arte1000 (even tried with Arte1100), leave the CID Type filled with SuperCID (even tried with HTC) , choose in OS case the .nb from first page and then create an NBH file.
- Start USPL to temporarly CID unlock the phone.
- Copy .nbh in the RUU directory and launch RUU.
But it hangs at 1% saying image file is corrupt...
How can i do ??? Don't want to use upgraderom.bat because i want to cook it it French and i need an nbh file...
Thanks

Hello there
Tried your method and it works fine when i don't touch to any files (except the missing one)
So, i start to cook my rom, finally did it, but when i flash it to my phone, the phone hangs on the first splash screen, wait some minutes and nothing more except that the screen start to blink really quickly... like when i used xcpuscaler and slow down the processor...
Any idea ?
Thanks in advance

Sorry for this nooby Question,
but is it possible to post the O2 WM6 upgrade file to another place like
FTP; rapid etc.... ?
My Problem is that i cant get the "original" file from O2 because my
Serialnumber ( MDA 3 compact; T-Mobile ) is not fit to insert in the
Serialnumber line on the O2 download Page.
Big Thx in advance

i think you did not CID unlock your device before flashing.
if you you need to get the original ROM.. and then flash it.
