I've installed xplode's kitchen, just his own with all but terminal services checked, and it gave me a very strange glitch, where on the initial setup screen, there was no background -- only text and buttons. So I had to imagine where I need to paste that 11 o'clock. Then it did setup, but the today screen had all-white background, with no text in sections but only small icons between the lines. And the bummer was that the phone had the same white square where the keypad and number used to be! Nothing except top and bottom bars. After a couple reinstalls it became just very slow... Even on the initial attempt it didn't install at first so I had to run the installer the second time.

Fortunately, I needed to do a reinstall anyways to get rid of ExtROM, so I downgraded to 2003SE, removed ExtROM, and then installed Helmi's. It gave me the setup screen right away, and I was really happy! So I forgot to insert the SD card with ExtROM right away -- just did it afterwards and ran Autorun manually, then clicked on all three CABs. Is that OK? Looks like it differs from wiki, doesn't it -- no Middle Eastern CAB, etc.?

In any case, under Helmi's, I have a normal Today screen and a good-looking Phone. Why did their backgrounds disappear under xplode's?

Obviously, helmi's at 5.04, while xplode is at 5.35. xplode's has newer office mobile parts. I'd appreciate people's comparisons, and xplode's suggestions on how to fix the background issue!

because in mine the default checked things fill the rom space almost completely but if you check more, the rom in the most of the time is unbootable, in your case it boots to some state ... keep an eye of the free spacee left at the end of buildong of the rom.

The version of my rom is like that because i modified it, the drivers are the same as AKU2.3, in helmi the drivers are modified

Side Note, the title of this thread is misleading, and sounds stupid, for more info on both roms you can read the proper threads

xplode, thanks for the explanation -- I did read many threads, still that's a lot of data to parse. So how do I make sure, after running CreateROM batch, that the ROM will fit -- what exactly do I check?

Also, the comparison is not stupid at all -- when someone sees two ROMs, the first question is, how exactly are they different? Which one is newer and, well, better, right? Nothing wrong with that. Obviously there were reasons for you guys to come up with two different versions -- hence the questions. Reasonable?
