I just got a SanDisk 4gb SDHC microSD card, and I can confirm that it does NOT work in my TyTN. The TyTN does not "see" the card in Settings->Memory when the card is inserted.
Unless someone has a reg hack that will make this work, I can now confirm that the 4gb SHDC microSD cards do NOT work with the TyTN.

Have you tried formatting it first with fat32?

It's been known for a long time that the 4GB SDHC cards wouldn't work...

You should be able to sell it on and get a 2GB with the cash you make though easily enough.

I tried one too and found the same thing.. wasn't my card so I didn't mess with it.. but it didn't look like it was ever gonna see it.

It has NOT been known that it doesnt work, we actually needed someone to check with a SDHC........now all i can say is that it is most likely a limitation of WM, atleast that was the impression i got from the guys at HTC.

A bit more experimentation is needed.

Yes, it has been known... the SDHC standard is different from the SD...
The SDHC is not compatible with SD unless the device is specifically designed for it... So legacy devices cannot read it...

ffs......if you read through the threads in here you will notice that there is no ACTUAL proof that the Hermes doesnt support SDHC.........HTC have also stated that it is a limit in the OS and NOT the hardware.

We all know SDHC is different from standard SD, but that is not my point, the post i was replying to said we have known for ages.......which is not correct, we still dont know if a reg-hack will allow the memory limit to be lifted from WM5/6.

I got a 2 year old digital camera. 3 months ago, a new firmware came out for it to add SDHC support.

I doubt my camera was DESIGNED for it from the start.

Oh, sorry I misunderstood your point... ur right... but it's for sure that the current devices, without any modification will not support SDHC...or is there any example on the contrary?

I noticed that a registry key does exist under HKLM/Drivers/BuiltIn/SDHC/

maybe someone can find a tweak to make the card work...

It is also known that the SDHC in the reg does NOT stand for SD HC cards.

I ACTUALLY tried it. (as stated in the post you replied too - though you may have clicked before I edited that in and posted after.. the timing is close.. if so sorry about that :) )

Hmmm wondering if this is solved in WM6..
Would be very usefull if I can have at least 4 GB.

I flashed WM 6 (vp3G's version 3.0) and my 4GB SDHC works just great.

Yeah, lots of the cooked WM6 ROMs include SDHC support. It was indeed only ever a coding issue that wasn't included in native OS. Well done the chefs.

Search the WM6 forum with the term sdhc and support and you'll be able to compile a list of cooked ROMs that do it. Most recent ones do though as far as I'm aware. Pre-cooked, that is - not sure about the DIY ROM kitchens.

If it helps, Black Satin is very recent indeed and has it. I heartily recommend Medium edition. (Was on LE but installed sev of the removed packs anyway). Also Faria's is a personal favourite of mine (SuperClean).
