I apologize if this is not new, but I just discovered it.

I don't know if it's the WM6 or if it's the "chefs' choice", but the recent cooked ROMs all seem to set the Power Mode slider to "Best Battery", in the Settings/Connection/Wireless LAN page.

If your WiFi connectivity is suffering from instability and connection/detection problems, try setting the Power Mode in Settings>Connections>Wireless LAN to best performance or to the mid point between the "Best Batterry" and "Best Performance". This cleared up all my WiFi problems that have been plauging my overall WiFi experience ever since I started to use cooked WM6 ROMs.

Caveat: This assumes *your* WiFi problems are not due to those issues that are related to code/driver issues, which are addressed elsewhere in this forum.

I overlooked this info! I've been having problems with wifi in a certain area of my school. I'll definitely try tomorrow with wifi settings on high. My laptop seems to pick up the signal fine.

In addition to the power mode slider, set the 802.11b/g Adapter's connectivity to "The Internet" in Connections>Wi-Fi>Network Adapters.
