Seems not, because CorePlayer can not get the external plugin as the way TCPMP does...

I dont have CorePlayer, so didn't try personally.

How did you get it to work? I installed the 2 files in my TCPMP directory and selected Flash Video under settings. When i open You tube under IE and click on a file, TCMP does not open.

Never mind. I figured it out. You have to use the exe file to download the "you tube file" first.

That's what you should be using normally anyway! :p Thanks to Stealth I've been using the ATI Imageon chip for a while now for every format I play! It definitely makes my battery last much longer.

anybody help please? In order to use the program “YouTubedownload.exe” it is not necessary to put the Link, but the digits of identification of the video.

For example: of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utsHE5xWges the digits are utsHE5xWges

Later uses in TCPMP the video output ATI IMAGEON

dats for me..With YouTubedownload.exe you directly unload the video to the PPC, and with plugins you can see archivo*.flv in TCPMP.

You do not need the PC, nor to turn the file *.flv to another format.

There it is the difference… GREETINGS

Yes, it does! Thank you to xl46 and Menneisyys for the information.

Now if only we could get something to DL the clips from ComedyCentral's Today Show.

I sent them an email days ago, asking if they could do anything to support mobile users, but they have not replied ...{sigh}.

Thanks again, though...this is terrific!

This fix has stopped working for me. I had it working really great on 3G and Edge on ATT last week. This weekend I went on my Pocket IE and ATT redirected me to m.youtube.com which did not happen last week (I'm using WAP.CINGULAR.COM). I got around the mobile edition by selecting classic edition and it went to the main youtube.com page however I've tried playing videos and it now just hangs up pocket ie for about 1 minute or so and does absolutely nothing. TCPMP doesn't even pop-up anymore.

Anybody confirm this is happening on the ISP.CINGULAR.COM portal as well (I no longer have access to that portal). Also can anybody confirm this is happening on their WM5 device with ATT?

I have a HTC 8525.

Thanks,

Please excuse a Trinity user crashing in here. Seems we have a common plight though.

Yes, I am having a problem playing real Flash FLVs on the att's isp.cingular APN.

I had thought it was a prob with my device or setup. I also recently moved TCPMP to my SD card to save memory, I was thinking perhaps this was the problem. But it seems it's not just me though. Something has changed. I'll post back if I can figure it out

About the redirect, the bookmark to use to get direct straight to the You Tube main site even if your User Agent gives you away as being on a handheld is

http://youtube.com/?nomobile=1

or if you like to use Skweezer to look at the you tube thumbnails and stuff (cos that first YouTube lage is huge)

http://www.skweezer.net/s.aspx/-/www~youtube~com/?nomobile=1

Here is another mirror for all the most recent TCPMP files incl vers 0.72RC and 0.81beta plus the Flash FLV plugs, VideoLoader bundle and the updated Windows Media plugins. It is very complete - but doesn't solve the new problem.

BUMP! (Sorry).

OK, NEWSFLASH (Meaning I should have searched before my previous post, but anyway...)

There has been an update today. The previous version had indeed stopped working. Hopefully this new update solves things. I haven't installed it yet tho.

Info and the "master thread" is at

http://discussion.treocentral.com/showthread.php?p=1319431

Credit goes to zbop you appears to be the Guru/author!

The heart of the update FlashVideoBundle-v1-2.CAB which is available here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/51744918/FlashVideoBundle-v1-2.zip.html

FYI This solution is a mix of GPL Open Source work which may be distributed with the licenses and code intact providing it is not for profit, plus non-Open Source freeware which permission has been given to distribute (The VideoLoader stuff etc, I guess).

GPL License info at:

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html

BTW if you have any probs unzipping the files try using 7-Zip File Manager to get at them. All the best :)

Great! I still haven't had a chance to intstall the update. Will do later.

Can we get away with installing to the SD Card? (because it is big!)

What works OK, TCPMP 0.81 or 0.72? (I like 0.81 best because it does more ... but it is even bigger!)

Hermes/Trinity/Treo owners et al - together we are stronger! Big thanks to zbop over on the Treocentral forum for this one.

Anyone else experience huge screen shaking when the .flv videos are paused? The whole screen goes psycho, but when i press the central button on the 8525 to play it, once the vid starts it is all good until i pause it again.

I also have tried downloading to the pc and using the youtube downloader program to convert to WMV format so i can sync with WMP. However the video quality is, well, crappy. Any tips on saving the quality?

If you look on KAD or the peer networks, using - eMule (www.emule-project.net) you can find the full package of TPCMP with all it's plugins including the .flv cab.

I just edited the TCPMP 81RC1Beta.CAB to automatically include ATIfix, and the .FLV plug-in files. Now all you need to do is install this one CAB and make the setting changes in TCPMP list below from http://ytpocket.com/ (http://ytpocket.com/install.php)

3. Setting the proper Protocols
Whew, the hard part is now over, lets get to the setting up! First open TCPMP and press 'Options -> Settings'. From the screen that brings you to press 'Select Page -> File Associations'. On the bottom of this page you will see both 'Flash Video' and 'MMS Protocol', make sure both of them are checked. If you don't see both of these settings, you may need a soft reset. Once they are both checked, keep the settings open and move onto step 4.

4. Setting the Buffering
The buffering could make or break your YouTube Pocket experiance, so let's make sure you set it properly. While still in the settings page click 'Select Page -> Buffering'. here you will see some buffering options, you want them to be as listed below:

Normal buffer size: 1148KB
Preload at underrun: 5%
Preload for audio: 64KB

The buffering settings above should work for most users. If you still experiance lag with these settings you may want to try to kick the 'Normal buffer size' down to 800KB and see if anything gets better. It may take a little work to get the right settings, but once you do, you'll be glad you took the time.

5. Auto-Play (Optional)
If you are anything like me you'll probably want your video to play automatically after you click it, if that's the case, this is for you! While still in your settings screen press 'Select page -> Player'. Here you will see options for both 'Play at open' and 'Play at open in fullscreen'. Check the box next to the one you are interested and you are all set.

6. Enjoy YouTube Pocket
Ummm... if you need an explanation for this step you may not be ready for the Incredible Edible Internet. O.o

folks..would appreciate some fine tuning..im on the right track because I finally got tcpmp to recognize my .flv's in its open file menu, however when I choose one and then hit play it just skips to the end with no video and if I play around w stopping/starting it again I get the video codec() error...I thought I had the most updated codecs is there any way to tell what I have or what I need?

also I have the thing set for ATI imageon but there is an option for ATI imageon decoder. what settings do I want to use to view these flv's since I can finally open them!?

this method didnt work for me, i have this application that makes youtube work with windows media player its called "HTC STREAMING MEDIA.CAB" i dont kno how to upload it to the site s0o hit me up at refat_b@yahoo.com for it, you basically install it and then go to the youtube mobile site and click watch video and windows media player pops up and says buffering and it buffers realli fast over the T-Mobile Edge network and then after it buffers to 100% its plays the video

Hello everybody

Recently I have had installed TCPMP + flashbundle. Nevertheless if I open IE browser, go to youtube and click on any video link it says "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. " I tried to uninstall, and install these 2 apps on mobile`s memory and with the same result. Videos don`t work. However if I used youtube app, installed with a ROM, videos play but with quite bad quality and not full-screened.
The question is: how can I watch videos on video sites like youtube in the browser. I would prefer Opera Mobile than IE, but now I don`t care. I just want to watch videos through the browser, not via crappy youtube app.
Thank you in advance for replies.
