Yes, only OS, but with all changes including with new omap850_sdhc.dll. Extrom automatically it is not put after XP

The order of installation OS:
1. To make full backup or only the data necessary to you on SD a card or PC.
2. ActiveSync should be connected and it is desirable as "Guest".
4. Install ASerg_Policies.CAB
5. Start !UPGRADE_ROM.bat also expect end.
6. Make hard reset.

Have you tried a normal hardreset?

Have you tired to run Update.bat when phone is in bootloader?

FOr me everything worked for the first try with Aserg way of flashing.

BUT i have unlocked by imei.check

I don´t know if it has to be but with wizard i never had problems because it was unlocked.

ANd of course i will release it one day. don´t know how fats i will get it working. i will just try to clean it. for base cooking.

Vista indeed seem to behave just fine with the process but after a (proper! :P) hard reset I still get a white screen after the boot up and have to go to the bootloader use the RUU :/

This works fine for me - It's a World Wide English version and should be fine.
Load into bootloader (Stylus+Camera) and run it...

there are some other files. it is difficult to translate a rom.

the update.bat is in the aserg folder you downloaded from fist page?!!!!

try to get into bootloader: commanager and softresetbutton. then connect and run !upgrade_rom.bat.

DOn´t know. But i guess you have to wait for an official update. you can try to run an RUU update like the 1.8 WWE - but if your device is cidlocked it won´t run. but just give it a try. the ruu should run from bootloader.


In wizardforum all "bricked" devices could be unbrick by flashing an official update with RUU

Hope you find one.

I bought it at BelCompany, And it came directly from HTC factory (no provider stuff, unlocked i guess) do you have any idea where i can find this RUU stuff? and by the way, i ran !Update_ExtRom.bat when my device was running normally, extremely stupid i know, it was the enthousiam:o never had a prob with my good ol'Blue Angel:(and if bricked, is there a tutorial of unbricking somewhere? i did see the Hermes unbricking part, does unbricking a Herald work the same? thank you by the way for helping!!

Perhaps because for me I have WM6 on it and tried to cook a clean version. Now - when i try to get it in Bootloader and install another version - i get Vendor-ID error. Inspite it was Cid-unlocked. Perhaps you can help me - but i don´t knoe any furtehr

If you have an official ROM - no matter. But we all do not have. So we get Vendor ID error.

"Error - Unknown status"

when pressing ok on touchscreen teh falshing goes on. For me.

i did soft reset fter installing the cab. But my phone isnt CID unlocked its a HTC P4350. Do i need a CID unlock or am i doing something wrong.

My Device isnt bricked though when i did upgrade it would turn up with a white screen after the HTC screen and would make a few beeps (they sounded like WM6 message notifications lol). I just went bak to WM5 with the WWE RUU.

so basically can i upgrade to WM6 without CID unlocking. If not can i
CID unlock for free??

The Flash process as describeby Aserg went well but the Phone permanently says Searching and never finds a signal...

Also the dumped rom doesn´t flash from storage card. Becausse you need the ruu_signed.nbh and rename it to be recognized.

My Herald had HTC_WWE_5.4.405.1_4.1.13.34_02.79.90, so the radio was 02.79.90. I do think this is the best radio on Herald. By the old version HTC_WWE_1.8.405.1_02.71.90, the radio is 02.71.90 and very weak.

I haven't gotten mine to work either. figured that since i was having slightly different notices, might as well share what mines doing.

on my device a window pops saying that it 'cannot execute repllog.exe', and the dos window on my pc basically stays still. after hard reset, i get the same problem as others with the white screen w/ the WM6 chime. lucky for me, when i go into bootloader, the WWE rom still uploads. ive tried it twice and i get the same results. (btw, i got mine through HTC and used activesync 4.5.0, american english windows xp pro).

i guess i'll be one of those people who have to wait for the official WWE to come out. either way, thanks for the rom ASerg.

OK - I had the same problem on XP. So, here is what I did

1. Downloaded Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 and installed it
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=10CC340B-F857-4A14-83F5-25634C3BF043&displaylang=en)

2. Downloaded Active Sync 4.5 and installed it

Then tried flashing with the great stuff provided by Aserg - It worked.

So I figure the problem is not having the latest versions of ActiveSync and .Net Framework.

My radio version is 2.71.9, I wonder if this effects the upgrade. Either way I'd rather wait for the official upgrade and not pay to unlock my phone.

Aserg, upgrading went great. One thing however, my keyboard now has Cyrillic letters. Also, when upgrading ext. rom the !upgrade_extrom.bat reports a missing extrom.nb. So I decided to extract the current rom with !extrom_dump.bat, creating a copy of my current rom. After that upgrading current rom worked great.

SO, if you could suggest a way to change the letters of the keyboard to US letters, then I would greatly recommend this Upgrade.

Flashing my P4350 with this rom works, but it wont boot past the "white screen of death". The funny thing is, I can hear WM6 starting in the background, seems like a display driver issue of sorts.
I can flash it fine with the Tunis rom, but get the "Data crash" error when the SIM is inserted.

Mine's a danish vendor ID locked to Dangaard btw.

I too want to make mine in English, can someone summize this thread for me with a "this is what/where you download" and "this is what you do with it"

I have been computing for a long time but the Xda is a new arena which I am not yet fluent. This is also my first CE based OS. I use XP SP2 and Active Sync 4.5. I can move through the folders of the OS, but I dont want to mess this up.. O2 has yet to offer support from a living person, and MS wanted to help but stated that the phone has an OEM version of WM6 Pro so any pure version of WM6 Pro would not be of much help without the specific Xda software for the device.

He doesn´t have to isntall RUU - Because he will get "Vendor-ID error". BTW he has Radio 2.85 on his XDA terra. Much newer than the 2.79 from Herlad RUU.

He only has to go throught the ASERG way of flashing. But be warned. You won´t be able to unbrick your device with any other ROM. Becuase they are all for Herlad and you have Terra. Yes enarly the same device BUT different Model-ID.

So IF Aserg way of flashing doesn´t work for you - your device WILL GET BRICKED.

You won´t find any newer version than this included in O2 German XDA TErra. So don´t install RUU WM5.

No, basicaly you are right. This is a hard procedure and I personly think its better off this way. There are many things that can go wrong during upgrade and shouldn't be done by people who just don't know what a commandline is, for instance.

On my german P4350 Herald, the install of WM6 caused my Radiopart from stop working and the english RUU won't install. It took me, as beeing an experienced User and Coder, a hard time to figure out how to fix this and if I wouldn't have found the german RUU, I would have my stuff to send in for service.

On PC you can boot system from CD or USB stick. SO you can come back to a running system whenever you want.

On PPC like "HTC Wizard" they have an universal RUU to flash when your OS got bricked. It was very easy to unbrick.

But new devices like "Herald" don´t have such "Repairing RUU" and when something goes wrong......

HTC learned how to protect their devices against cosom roms.

That´s teh problem. and your own risk when flashing

Aslong as you only flash the OS and not the bootloader, you'll be fine. You WILL however need a RUU flash with a vendorID that fits your device.

That´s right. But it would be awsom to have a way of flashing with RUU witout IPL/SPL and Radio BUT only cooked OS.

But that isn´t possible at the moment.

And I only said that: becuse I ha a german Terra AND a German RUU - BUT i cannot flash with this RUU - "vendorID error". Becuase the RUU is for Herlad - NOT for Terra.

I've tried the upgrade, but didn't read the entire wiki. I've upgraded to wm6 without first upgrading to Radio ROM of at least 2.79. Now my screen shows the Vodafone splash and then becomes white an beeps as if it wants to sync the screen.

Help me?
Tried falshing back, but always got messages like invalid vendor. I think I need an origional Vodafone rom.

Your correct your are going to need a Vodafone ROM.

You can't flash with a dumped ROM. So you'll probably have to try the Vodafone route.

Sorry, i'm not looking for a Vodafone ROM, i'm just looking for the Dutch HTC ROM, but I don't have to anymore. A friend of mine works at a telecom shop, he said he might unbrick my Herald.. But it did not work, now his company sent it to HTC Repair Centre and said it was their fault, so I don't have to pay:D But anyway you will not find any more ROM's then there already are in the WIKI.. At least i searched my ass off.. good luck

Nope you cannot flash with a dumped ROM.. Only possibility I see is indeed sending it to vodafone reapair centre or something..

Been to the vodafone service centre today. They state I need to show them the receipt or the'll won't take it into repair. I bought my Herald of a secondhand internet site, so no receipt. The guys at vodafone say that the device can just as well be from KPN or another provider. (with a vodafone splash, yeah right) So no taking in repair.
Maybe I'll go past them and go straight to the repaircenter (dynafix)
