And now, a question for you as I will be traveling to Korea for an extended period soon. I think that Korea doesn't use SIM cards as their system is CDMA. How do you get local (Korean) phone service on the Hermes?
Thanks.

I have Diopen, let me try a few things.
Have you tried this software? http://www.soft32.com/download_166751.html I think it works better than Diopen. You might want to download the trial and see how it works. I think your problem is that the phone isn't recognizing the font's sent from a Korean handset. Do you know anyone else with a Hermes there?

I'm using 'effy 4'(http://www.timespace21.co.kr/) for viewing Korean and Chinese...
sill few problem:
1. in media player, some letters wouldn't show
2. viewing SMS in chinese does work but not for sending
I havn't tried for Korean SMS.
One question: If when I go back to Korea, what do I have to do to use hermes in Korea? I use LGTelecom. Does that also work?

I'm using latest HTC Qtek Rom on Japanese Softbank X01HT and trying to resolve Korean SMS problem.
As suggested, I installed Effy-Korean 4.0 and Diopen 6.0 but didn't go through it. When I try to send an SMS to my X01HT, it seems like acknowledge the arrival of SMS (awakening from sleep status) but didn’t make any further movement, such as SMS arrival sound or top notification.:(
In addition, if I compose an SMS with X01HT and send it to my X01HT, doesn’t matter what I use for Korean input apps, it clearly work well both Korean and English SMSs.
One cell phone expert said that Korean mobile providers only using a certain Korean character set for SMS not Unicode or standard Korean characters.
Therefore, to use Korean SMS on foreign OS systems, using Korean OS or using Korean IME, I guess.
Is there any better solution for this? Chao.:)
