Have anyone tried adding more icons to the HTCHomeplug today plug-in? Anything other than "Power", "Screen Rotate", "Backlight" & "Comm Mgr"?
By viewing the embedded icons within the dll, it shows some memory icons!! Can there be any icon added?

Well, thanks. I have tried every one of those links and none mentioned about linking a "ctlpnl" shortcuts such as (memory) for ex.!
HTChomeplug works only with .exe and not with such DLLs!
I want to create a shortcut like those on the control panel!!

Somebody please provide a DLL file having multiple icons. We need two sizes per icon (48x48x24bit & 24x24x8bit). More set of icons much better so that we can add more programs.

Well I added the ...
Great to hear that.
BTW, by changing the values "3" & "2" in sequence, you could change the sequence of the icons accordingly. I am sure you know that, huh?
The secret is that the POWER is "0" in sequence followed by the "ROTATE" as "1" and the rest follows upto I guess 7 icons as some guy mentioned somewhere in this forum...

Hi Cyber-Mate,
Already tried that, doesn't work here.
It makes the commmanager dissapear. Would love to have the screenrotate pictogram more to the right side of HTCHome. Also I'm thinking about a softreset button, that would be really cool!
Cheers, Leo

Can you guys post the screenrotate.exe file that you're using? The one I have on my wizard works, but for some reason the icon isn't showing up, neither is the powericon. I can get the rest of the icons that I set the resource path to work with no problem, but those 2 entries that I suppose are taken automatically from the files aren't working for me.

using the settings above i can add apps to and change the arranement of the HTC homeplug.... the only thing that doesn`t change are the icons.
It always looks the same, the 3 icons in the same order, tapping the blank space after the comm manager icon even opens the brightness setting.
am i missing something...

Well, definitely there's something wrong/missing!
It could either be ResPath or "LaunchApPath" lines. Revise your registry and follow the text line I referred to in my previous reply.
However, If you are tapping and getting the program running, that means the "iconindex" line is wrong. (i.e. the icon number such as 101)!
Best of luck...

The app works........so i`m guessing the "launchappath" line is correct.
I`m not sure what the "respath" line actually does, but i typed it in as above.
Same with the "iconindex".
All i`m not getting is the icon for the backlight. i get the app.
Is there another setting somewhere i should be including/adjusting...:(
in fact, if i change the folder numbers the app will actually move position, but the look of the thing doesn`t change at all.

Get a resource editor and open up htcicon.dll and check to see which are the correct addresses for the icons, or try settings the ResPath to \\windows\\backlight.exe" and the IconIndex to "0"
Hope that helps.

Dont worry. I shall post you the CAB file that contains the bundle with three files only.

One question - why do all the latest ROMs use this HTC Homeplug thing?
I personally think it looked a lot neater when the Comm-manager, Battery-indicator and screen rotate were nice small icons at the bottom right of the today screen...

I personally like HTCHomeplu coz it saves you that little space which could be utilised for more "practical" stuff ;)
I am sure that with all those buttons and other ways of adding shortcuts and add-ons you could play around with the "Screen Rotate" & "Comm Manager". It is for fact that we are just making ourselves get used to what we see first time and reluctant to change!!
Guys, mankind have always worked to improve life style and to simplify -although not many would agree- but this what is my belief and I stick to it.
After all it is just a theory.

Okay... attached is the zip file contains the cab and the three files i-incase you could not unzip the cab file. Try installing the cab file and if things didn't work, try the other attached.

Try ResHacker http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
You won't need much of an explanation after you toy with it a little, but if you do I'll try to give you a quick rundown.

Had some success with this, already posted it but thought i`d re-post in case ne1 is watching this post.
In the end it took a resource editor, registry editor and an icon developer to get it this far.
I also found that creating my own resource file, with something like 40 icons (24x24 and 48x48) and copying that to the windows directory, and referencing that insted of anything already there was the way to go.
This also means that when i do up-date the ROM (inevitable) i can quickly and easily get it looking the same as it was by simply keeping a copy on SD card.

I have problems with adding new icons to homeplug... All icons that I try
to add (except from htcicons.dll) are not properly displayed... It looks like
they are too small, but in Programs they are looking not so small (see
attachments)
Mr Groch

OK, no one has helped me, but I managed myself to make nice looking icons
for HTC Homeplug :)
HTC homeplug requires icons with 48x48 size.. And this size isn't very popular
on PPC apps... So I have made dll file containing only 48x48 icons
for apps, that I'm using most often.
I have added some icons and edited original icons from htcicons.dll
(becouse original icons wasn't looking good on dark backgrounds - my
icons are looking fine on dark and on bright background)
I share my work with you, becouse I think that other people also want to
customise their HTC homeplug - this space is asking to be used :)
Actually there is only 5 icons, but if you want to add other popular apps
to HTC homeplug, post here, maybe I will add other icons also ;)
In attachment you can find myset.dll and example screenshot with icons
indexes.... Copy that file anywhere to your PPC, edit registry entries
for HTC homeplug and restart your PPC - after reset, chose Yes, if
security box will appear.

Hi Mr Groch,
Congratulations!
Let me share you some good looking 48x48 targa icons that you might want to use to populate your myset.dll & probably may publish or share with other HTC Homeplug users.
The icon sets are of course not mine, probably from OSX Tiger WAD theme for WA!
Cheers.
