I was wondering whether anyone had had any success with the HTC 3.5mm Y-Splitter?
It charges fine but no audio through the 3.5mm side.
I've downloaded the driver from HTC but when I try to install it says my device is already up to date and doesn't need the driver. Is this because I am on wm6? (LSVW latest)

OK I've managed to bypass the installation error when it says device drivers are up to date by the following procedure - extracted the appropriate cab file for the installation - copied it to my device, installed, reset and it now works!
To locate the cab file start activesync, (4.5 - ie not vista but xp) double click the HTC driver.exe from HTC, follow the install procedure but when it goes to install to device, dont accept just leave it hanging. Then do a file search for Y-cable_HERM1_070316.cab - should be located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\HTC Apps. copy the cab file to your desktop then cancel installation. copy cab to your device and install. Bingo - works beautifully.
Actually I might as well include the cab file here to simplify things.
forgot to say - you must soft reset after installation of cab

I was thinking of getting one of these to use my M3100 with an FM transmitter in the car, so thanks for the info :)

Be careful, because this driver conflicts with WM6 VoIP. Once installed, sound from VoIP calls will sound from the exterior speaker of the phone, and not the internal one. As for now, the only solution I've came up with is uninstalling the driver and soft-resseting every time I want to switch from using the y-cable to being able to voip.

Thanks for the tip - I wondered why voip had started behaving like that. Anyone know of a fix?

Does the internal microphone continue to work with the Y-splitter cable plugged in?
I'd like to have the audio out to hear the person I'm speaking with come through my car speakers while still speaking into the phone's internal mic. Is this possible?
