hi,

i have been toiling for weeks to get a stable phonepad installation using SIPChange, etc.

my testing has led me to conclude that I can retain phonepad as the SIP, having set it with sipchange, after a soft reset only if the microsd card is removed.

i wondered if i had a lot of crap on the card, but it defaults to the keyboard even with an empty, clean formatted card in the slot!

anyone got any ideas?

fantastic phone, but almost unuseable for me without phonepad!

many thanks in advance
paul

I had this nightmare, but managed to get it going with the Card fitted, not at all sure how I did it, apart from alot of soft resets etc, however I have re-romed it with LSVW's WM6 which also removes all the cruddy Orange branding etc etc, AND phone pad works like a dream.....and easy to do as it's "Me Proof" (tm) and "Just works" (c)

Go on you know you want to

worried about not being able to get it back to the orange rom and screwing my warranty.

i take it you're chuffed and simply not looked back?

Yup, just remember that you will need to re-programe the Orange settings for MMS and WAP etc etc, however saw a cab posted with this just the other day, also Orange have a mucho good page with how-to's for the phone ;-)

Also back up your contacts and custom rintones before you start!!

As for the Warranty they tend no to look at the phone they normally just swap them so it ought not be a problem, also there is an Un-official Orange ROM floating around these fora, so grab that at the same time for "emergency" use.

As for being chuff... as the dog on the telly say says, oh yus yus yus ;-)
