added a fix to so that I can hang-up a gprs/umts connection by tapping on the 3g icon

found a little bug: it doens't put recent used apps in the today bar.

It's right, I added startclean to the rom, so after every softreset your startmenu is clean. 'But only after softreset!'

First of all, thank you, Laurentius, and hat off to you.
I have just migrated from Jwright's 2.02.02 ROM and must honestly say I like yours better. It seems more stable, for one thing (have not SR'd it yet; didn't have to, whereas with J's I had to do it at least once a day), seems better able to free up unused RAM (with my usual software selection it keeps around 20 MB free... and really keeps it!), and is less cluttered with software and options I never use.
One thing I'd gladly see is the new CommManager; somehow it feels, I don't know, richer. OTOH, with an integrated disconnect and flight mode, this might have been intentional?
So thanks again, and keep up the great job. If I find something I don't quite like (or, au contraire, sth I love), I promise to keep you posted.

Think it has to do with your old Extended ROM.
Ivan only provide's OS.
My build provides ROM, Radio and Extended ROM.

Startclean you can disable by deleting it out of Windows\startup.

Hi,

I was just chatting with TehPenquin and he found a solution!
Open your registry with a registry editor and go to:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\MMS

rename the key from MMS to MMS1

That fixes your problem!

New update will have that too offcourse ;)

I just tested the wireless on V3 of Leo's ROM

without security: Works perfectly, connects in 5 to 15seconds
With WPA: Only works with enable-disable-enable trick

(btw that "trick" is to try to connect, then disable your wireless. When you enable again your wireless it should connect with no problems)

MMS Issues? i'm certain that my MMS configuration is correct now. however my handset refuses to download or send messages, it tries just never succeeds.

I had a looooong battle with the vpn issues being that I use it for work and I have to conncect to our locations trough VPNs and use that connection so that I can enter local IP addresses in the RDP client ("Man I love my Uni"). Well there are a few things to overcome.


1. This sounds stupid but, By default most carriers disable the possibility for VPN connections, but they will enable it for added fee.For instance I had was trying to establis a scucessful VPN conncection for months and finally decided to call my carrier (T-Mo USA) and they enable it for me and told me it would take about 3 days for it to take effect, it turned out to be more like 10 days.


2. I guess all you have to do after that is make sure your settings are correct. The VPN should be trying to connect through "My Work Network" which should have no setting what so ever. DO NOT CREATE A NEW MODEM CONNECTION FOR "MY WORK NETWORK", simply let it use whatever connection is available to connect to the internet.


3. Let your Systems Engineer know what you are trying to do. Typically when engineers notice wierd things they have the tendancy to block them with out asking any questions to avoid mass histeria.

I installed your rom fine and tested it through today, but half way through this afternoon programs stopped working and on inspection found my storage card renamed storage card 2 and a new file called storage card in its place with nothing in it apart from email attachments folder. i removed this and left storage card 2, and on a second inspection found this renamed "storage card" again and still nothing worked.:(. so now im stumped:confused:, ive searched the threads to find an answer but no joy, any ideas anyone? it seems this is not new but no real answers

The problem about MMS isn't solved yet, sorry.
I will have a look at Arcsoft MMS composer and see if I can fix that.
Soon as it will be fixed I release a new update.

hey,
what might be happening is that when your device starts the card does not load properly...so the os creates a folder caller sd on your device
there are 2 things you can do....
1) change where you download your emails to either your phones storage or the extended rom
2) try teweaks 2k or sktools to see if changing some settings regarding your sd card can help

This ROM is based on Ivan's v3.
I tried the bleutooth explorer and it works awsom. Didn't try it with wifi on dow. Currently I'm trying to rebuild Arcsoft MMS, because it isn't working. As soon as I fixed it I will release a new version. Keep you posted.

The BT stereo is very enjoyable - no statics, no breaks, at least on my home network. I think the only drawback is the provided bitrate of the choosen streaming radio, but for the rest - it is superb !

Laurentius26, so far this is really a good rom. I have been using it heavily since it's first release and have only had one lock up ... and that probably wasn't due to the rom but instead the software I had installed on it. So, from what I've seen so far this is pretty much a flawless rom. Well done!

you need a tool to recovery, it is call "mtty1.42.exe" you will find it here:

and this is what you have to do.

First download the mtty utility
1. Take out the SD and SIM cards
2. Opened ActiveSync and go to file, connection setting and Un-check "Allow USB Connections". Then press Ok and close ActiveSync
3. Put in bootloader mode (Power + Light + reset) which brings up the "un-backlit" screen with "Serial" at the top and v0.XX at the bottom
4. Plug in USB cable DIRECTLY from PC to Jasjar (MAKE SURE NOT TO USE A USB HUB). You MIGHT then see a warning window complaining that an "Unsigned" device driver is being attempted to be installed. You will be prompted to either "STOP INSTALLATION" or "CONTINUE ANYWAY" - this warning can be safely ignored and so just click on "CONTINUE ANYWAY".
5. Open mtty utility / software
6. Select USB from the "Port" drop-down on the upper left corner of the dialog box and hit OK
7. Then another screen will come up. Hit enter and that will show "USB>"
8. Type "set 14 0" and hit enter. You will see some jibberish on the mtty utility which will again be suffixed by "USB>". Your HTC Universal will not seem to have done anything and should still indicate "USB" at the top, and "v2.01" (or equivalent) at the bottom. You can now close the mtty utility.
9. On the Desktop PC unplug the USB cable and re-plug it into the exact same USB port again. From this point onwards, you must use this exact same USB port to flash the ROMs of your Universal because failure to do so will most proably result in "Connection Errors" at the beginning of the flashing process when the RUU attempts to establish communication with your Universal. After re-pluging into the USB port, you can then run the ROM update JASJAR_WWE_13076_164_10900_wwe_ship.exe (or latest version)
10. It will go through the upgrade process with the 3 steps and "completed successfully" on the PC
11. Picture 1 below shows what the screen looked like after step 6 after disconnecting the

Hi Leo,

Have been reading this thread, as well as threads on other ROM's.
In everyone of those threads there seem to be discussions on what applications to include or exclude.
If my memory is right, there has been a ROM where the apps are added as Cabs which can be installed (or not...) after installing the ROM.
In this way everyone can have it's way and you don't have all this discussion.
I don't know wether this can easily be achieved, but perhaps this is an idea for v5 ?

Skype isn't there anymore and that I changed it for Windows Live.
I removed HTCHomeplug so there is no Screenrotate and battery icon anymore.

About Map24 you are wrong as well!

I think the problem here that this RV4 didn't suit someone's need. Windows live on RV4, Skype on RV3, Arcsoft MMS [fixed] on RV4.

HTC plugin's OEM is provided, Skype is downloadable, Splashscreen is changeable.

But how if what i need is RV4 with HTC plugin?

I can cook it, but i need Arcsoft MMS as well to make it perfect. So?

I've re-flashed it 5 times already and all the 5 times I dowloaded a fresh file but wifi still wouldn't work. Could you be kind enough to post your settings, specifically

1. Are you using "The Internet" or "Work" for "My network Card Connects to"

2. Which network adapter is highlighted or choosen.

Just normal connecting process;
After flashing the rom, touch wifi connection at today screen, touch connect, wait a while then poped up several wifi names, touch on my wifi name, connect to internet, enter my wifi connection password, wait a while and done.

I never set up network card before.

i have a question , what kind of AKU 3.5 ??ver. is in this UNI_v4 works with A2DP?
I have some problems here to hear nice music from Bluetooth stereo headset for mobile phones, Jabra BT620s, i download tornado adp and Tor_A2DP_cert. so is still not working???

I don not know if this has been mentioned before. When I install a new software, or connect to a new wi-fi, the pop-up windows, like the list of available networks, does not appear. Soft reset and it will works. It might be particular to my configuration, which include:
- HTC Universal
- V4 of the rom
- Pocketbreeze
- SPB Weather
- SPB insight

Any one has encountered a similar behaviour?

You could try one of the following:

1. "Start > Settings > Today > Items tab" and check the box marked as "HTCHomePlug". Both the battery meter and the Wireless Manager icons should show up on the Today screen.

2. In order to start the Wireless Manager when you tap on the Wireless (phone, wifi and bluetooth indications) icon on the Today screen, create the key "Redirect" on "HKLM/SOFTWARE/ControlPanel/WrlsMgr" with string "CommManager.exe".

Anyway no bady help me in with A2DP, but i fix it and is working.!
I try to customize ExtendedRom. like this.

1. Go and get BAL666 HTC64ExtendedRomTool.exe.
1a.Go and get a tool to edit Fat images (Winimage 8.0 or higher recommended).
2. Choose one ms_.nbf you want to customize.
3. Decode the ms_.nbf with the HTC64ExtendedRomTool.exe.
4. Now you got a ms_.nbf a ms_.prj and a ms_.fat
5. Open the ms_.fat in Winimage.

6. Delete the cabs you do not need
Do not delete everything because then the whole thing doesn't function
7. Add and change everything you like to have it.
Do not forget to change the config.txt if existant.
8. Save the Extended Rom image in Winimage.
9. Close the Image in Winimage.
10.Reencode the ms_.nbf with BAL666 HTC64 Tool.
11. Flash on your device.

Well , i dont know but i cant save this in winimage this extrom? why?
and then they tolkig me tath Reencode with the666 HTC64 Tool, but it want do it?

Next problem is i try to get to Midget_1990_v1_0_PU10_WWE and midget_1990_v0_1_1_vanilla_wm6 to change the extrom but is protected or something like it saying "fat" or "fat32" cant open by winimage 8???

Could anyone help me in this??

Be frank I think you are more lazy then tired :0) anyhow this forum is just for HTC manufactured devices. The one that we currently posting is for HTC Universal. All the ROMs available here will not fit to your device. I suggest you gooooooole for your same device

Hi guys,

I am using V3 of this particular ROM, the question I have at this moment is if anybody else has been experiencing issues with activsync or not?

I am using AS 4.5 with V3, and AS stays on 'retrieving settings' the whole time, and doesnt move on.

Basically I plug in my cable, tried a few cables, AS starts on my phone, the PC starts it network interface, aquires and IP address, gets that successfuly, but then after that sits and does nothing. Anybody got an idea? I may upgrade to the new V5, but then I need to get the files off my phone, but cant do that without AS.
