The Wing is a.......

Greetings, this is a general question and some direction is needed here as I am a noob to all this.

I own the Wing and have read that it is an HTC Atlas........is this correct?
or is it an HTC Herald? :confused: which is it?

I would like to unlock the phone to use it on Cingular if poss. but dont know what forum to look under for info about the phone, ROMs, etc.

And I dont know where to look to get the instructions to unlock it.

Would someone please be so kind as to point me in the right direction for info on this phone etc, link to me instructions to unlock this specific device: and from there on out I wont wander aimlessly around the forums wondering what doggone phone thread to read. This will be my first ever unlock attempt when find the info and I dont want to have to take out "Mr. Happy" (my pet name for my claw hammer) and unlock it that way................. My thanks in advance for the help.

The Wing is the sim-locked version of the Atlas, they have the same specs, but only the Sim and CID lock are different (and the looks) But you can use any Herald upgrade, (if you have your CID removed). (Herald is the first and original HTC p4350, but with WM5)

I see, thanks. But in regards to the CID and SIM unlock where would I read about this, ya know the specific instructions for this model phone so I dont ruin the damn thing. I dont know what programs to use and/or if said programs used for unlocking are specific to the Wing. Any ideas on how to remove the CID/SIM issue, cause I can see myself using this as a paperweight without step by step instructions. LOL.

And then compare the Atlas with Herald or Terra = you will see they are the same BUT with different codename.

But remember i brick my device WITH imeicheck done before. I couldn´t flash another ROM. But they said - it will work and they don´t know what went wrong for me.

Not yet. But i had to let it repaired by service because of loose batterycover, etc. so i hope it is also flashed again.

Nope - it only works for Wizard.
