Accessories is awesome, keeps it organized

Do you like the Programs\Accessories folder? Or would you prefer to see everything just in Programs? Or would you prefer more sub folders:
Programs
Programs\Toolbox (or utilities)
Programs\Games
Programs\Extras
Programs\<what else would you want?>

I'm very nervous about replying because my last post (dift thread) was met with a lot of hostility and I think it was just a miscommunication.

Since you asked us for what we're looking for I'd have to say that personally I would love to see everything in programs including PimBackup and Task Manager. The subdirectory "Accessories" confuses things for users of SPB Mobile Shell since that application makes it's own 2nd level area of Programs called.... Accessories! It's easy enough to fix ourselves but it would be nice to see it resolved at the ROM level.
Looking forward to trying the XM6_2 when and if it's available to the masses.

Sorry about that... Nope, I'm asking for input, so let me have it ;)

I've never used Spb Mobile Shell so didn't realize this conflict. Very good to know... Based on that, at a minimum Accessories will be renamed. I personally like to organize stuff, so will probably have like Toolbox then instead. I just figured out all the Registry incantations to get NoData to show up in Settings > Connections, so thats where it will move to (like MJconfig, to me, this is more of a Settings type app, and makes more sense for it to be with the other connections stuff).
Looking forward to trying the XM6_2 when and if it's available to the masses.
Its definetly coming. This isn't a simple build from Ingenetics kitchen like I thought it was going to be. Plus, I want to "Complete" this rom. I've given up on the idea of a perfect rom, but I want one to be mostly bug free (I'm sure there will be minor quirks).

I like it.

That's funny. After reading your recent post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1331843&postcount=5) explaining why you think people should just take the Pandora kitchen and cook their own ROMs I've been thinking of following the advice. Now you're making it look like more specialised and involved work. Clearly something we should leave to the professionals and let you guys work your magic.

This is THE best Rom I have ever put on my phone, its fast. It hasnt crashed on me yet, and I use it heavily. I would love to have the touch rom, but that rom looks like it would freeze like crazy on my phone.

Terrific work on this. I love it. Love it. Love it.

I'm all for an accessories like folder, this is something I usually create on my own to put all of my rarely used stuff in. My preference though is only for that one sub folder in the programs folder, any more than that and it gets cluttered. Software that creates additional folders in the program folder are a peeve of mine.

mfrazzz, I bet you've put a lot of work to this upcoming ROM, though I hope it's not done yet cause my next suggestions would be worthless:rolleyes:
Anyways what I would love to see in this ROM are two main things:
1 - It would be great if it has a 100% compatibility with RADIO 2.25
2 - I really hope the slow boot (caused by installing "extra" :p files in /windows)

That's probably all, if anything else hits my mind I'll post it, hopefully before you posting XM6 v2

PS: is there a reg tweak for the keyboard (hardware):
first to lengthen the buttons LED lights time and also for lighting once you slide it out (sorry if it's off topic, but since I'm using XM6 It's okay, I guess :D )

sorry for the lengthy post and thanks anyways!!

I'm assuming by #1 you are asking for a rom that doesn't have missed calls / sms when using Radio 2.25??? There are no solutions to this yet. I'm not even going to attempt to change the gsm stack at this time as you would probably not see a release for many months (I don't have the time to spend doing that right now).

For #2, so far in my 2 alpha builds, I have not seen slow reboots. Longest I've seen it take when the 3rd splash screen comes up is about 30 seconds so far (and the 1st two splash screens only stay up for about 15 seconds or so). But yeah, I'm sensative to this issue.

This has been asked for before, but as far as I know there is nothing as easy as a registry setting to change this. Not sure if its hardware or something deep in a driver for the wizard. I've looked for it in the past but never found anything on this. May poke around again since you mentioned it but no promises.

Don't get me wrong here... With the Ingenetics kitchen, you can build a nice rom with little effort (just checking a bunch of boxes and running the scripts / tools). But I like to do my own customizations and all since thats what I like to do. I am building this rom for me mostly, so I like my own personal touches in it.

It won't be before July 4th. As I stated earlier, I'd like to actually release it on July 4th to celebrate, but I got a late start, so not sure that will be doable now.

wm5torage is now 1.75 and PIM Backup is 2.0 (in my alpha I'm running). I'll find the latest version of WiFiFoFum and get it updated too. If anyone knows of other things to update let me know. I'm still debating putting BatteryStatus back in. If I do, it probably wll not be the current latest version. I'm running build 217 and for what I use it for, that one seems stable and haven't noticed excessive drain on the battery with it. Could go back to build 195 though (the one that was in the Crossbow Reloaded series). Or I may just leave it out and let people install whatever build they want (as BS seems to change every few days at times).

Well, what I currently have setup under programs is:

Toolbox
Media
Extras

But right now Media and Extras don't have much in them so I may drop them. Still playing with this idea.

I can say that MJconfig is now in the System tab of the Settings, and NoData is now in the Connections tab of Settings.

If think a bad ideia put batterystatus back, first because batterystatus is the kind of program that have a lot of updates, if you like to always have the last version, i may have some problem to subscribe the old one who comes with rom.

Its right where Microsoft keeps it. Its in the Start Menu (not in Programs). If you want it in programs then either create a shortcut to the folder or use the Start > Settings > Menus and uncheck it.

Mr Frazz, I have a question for you about Battery Status. You didn't include it in this build, so I downloaded and installed the latest version and it seems to be missing several features that were in your Crossbow Reloaded build. Things like "Disable proxy when connected to wifi" was one feature I loved. Not to mention CPU Scaling and Application scaling.

What version supported that, or was it some additional plug-in you added that I've been unable to locate?

Sounds like you didn't pull a 1.04 beta version but installed the .04 version. Go get a 1.04 beta build and it will have what you are missing. The build in Crossbow Reloaded was 195. I'm running build 218 right now (I think 219 or 220 is the latest. I haven't tried upgrading yet).

I've basically decided not to install BS in my roms anymore as Ikarus releases new builds all the time, so most people tend to upgrade all the time (so its a waste of rom space when I'm trying to cram this thing full). Plus some builds of BS seem to do excessive battery drain...

I asked this earlier but didn't really get a response. I really want to be able to use the HTC Smart Dialer. Unfortunately, the Smart Dialer not only has my contacts in it but also any phone numbers I have stored on my SIM card. I've applied the registry edit to hide SIM contacts and it works everywhere else (contacts, SMS/e-mail/MMS, etc.) It just doesn't work on the Smart Dialer.

I've been looking around the registry to see if there's something in there but so far I haven't found anything. So I guess my question is this.

1. Has anyone else been affected by this problem?
2. Is there a fix for it/an updated dialer that might solve the issue?
3. Beyond that is there any way that I can work around it?

In WM6, Microsoft made the decision to combine the SIM card stuff, and the Windows Live contacts all in Outlook. There is no way around this... Pocket Informant just released a new version for WM6 and it claims to have "smart handling" or somesuch of SIM contacts. Not sure what that means, but might be worth trying, to see if that helps...

Right, today while doing a major sync of my Outlook emails from PC to PDA, i was informed by a friend that he has been calling me for quite sometime and why wouldn't I answer? I immediately pulled the plug and then three missed calls appeared...

I have 2.19 Radio... it is still happening...

Also, how can I macro Messaging to Button 1? It remains fixed to Calendar even when it says messaging in the control panel...

That makes sense and I'll give PI a shot but it confuses me that there's a way to hide SIM contacts everywhere else in WM6 except for the Smart Dialer. This leads me to believe that it's HTC who is responsible for this behavior rather than Microsoft.

Edit: tried Pocket Informant. Absolutely useless.

For all you Cingular users, I've updated the first post with a cab that I created that may fix the problem on WM6 roms not working with the newer radios. I've had this fix on my phone now for 36 hours and so far no missed calls or SMS messages and I've switched to the Cingular 2.25 radio! A couple of other people are testing this over in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312834 and they are running 2.61 radio with no missed calls too. So if you are on Cingular, give this a try. If you have missed calls on other providers, you may want to try it, but I don't know if it will work for you or not...

Taking You to the Limit

I STRONGLY recommend you use the T-Mobile 2.19 UK Radio (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Radio_Roms/Radio_Only_Thread/T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radio_Only.zip) (this is a must for Cingular/AT&T customers). Newer Radio versions tend to have missed calls and SMS messages (just like with all other WM6 ROMs). G4 users, see the next post on flashing the Splash screens for a tip if you get errors trying to flash the 2.19 Radio ROM.
UPDATE: There appears to be a possible fix for the Radio issue on Cingular. Attached is a cab you can run to implement the change. I've successfully run Cingular 2.25 radio on my phone for 36 hours now with no missed calls or SMS messages. Others have had success with 2.61 radio after doing this fix. You can follow this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312834) (starting around post 9) on this.
[/LIST]

.

I found 2.19 to have virtually no GPRS access ( a very crippling thought ! ) , so I upgraded to 2.61 , and voila! No more missed calls , hang ups and non-waking-from-sleep !

Seriously , give 2.61 a try !

Is the reception any better? Does it offer significant improvements? Simply put, is there any worthwhile reason to update to 2.25 or even 2.61?
2.25's reception is only marginally better than 2.19, but many report they have less GPRS problems (I've never seen this myself, but some claim on 2.19 they have to go to flight mode and back to get GPRS to reset at times).

2.61 though is very different. Supposed to be very quick on aquiring signal, gives you a very strong signal (in weak areas its noticably better) . I used to run 2.61 when I was on the stock Cingular rom and I found it to be a very good radio (and will switch to it later tonight to continue my testing of this fix). The only downside to 2.61 is that I think reports were that it tended to cause more battery drain (but most could live with that due to the improved signal they received).

But with all of this, remember that we haven't confirmed this truely fixes the problem, but in the 48 hours that I found this and have been testing it, I've had no missed calls or SMS (where previously, I'd have to go back to 2.19 within a few hours of putting on one of these newer roms due to problems). So things are definetly better now...

Everytime I run the ROM Update utility it runs into an  ERROR [248~260] : UPDATE ERROR when it reaches 99% of updating

It takes 4 seconds at least from when I touch the softkey to when the menu comes up. Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Also, response times from pressing softkeys is a bit slow. If I press the softkey it generally takes about a second for the highlight to show up on the softkey label (if that makes sense.)

Nope. Only time I saw this was when I was playing with some of the touch stuff. I wound up having to do a hard reset to get rid of the problems the Touch stuff caused on my phone. Not sure if you've installed any of that, but if you have, that may be part of your problem.

For me the menus pop right up. Sometimes I have a slight lag (maybe a second, but definetly not as much as 4 seconds). But for me, the highlight is quick, the lag is with it doing whatever the softkey is set too.

@maxlan - I'm working on XM6 Release 2 now. Very similar to what XM6 is now... After I'm done with it, I've kicked around the idea of revisiting Crossbow Reloaded and trying to rework it with newer stuff and blend it with XM6, but I"M really not sure how different that will be from what XM6 release 2 is now, so no idea if it will ever see the light of day or not.

What I do plan on doing is creating an XM6 Lite (hopefully released at the same time or shortly after this new version). I'm not going to call it Vanilla or clean, but it will be a "low calorie" version of XM6, as XM6 is pretty beefy if I do have to say so myself... Probably just what I consider "essential" tools, then you can roll it how you want it...

The only Touch based stuff I've used is the dialer that you included in the first post and the Audio Manager (I think that's a Touch thing.)

I'm considering a hard reset to just start over. Best bet to reflash to base ROM, then XM6, then new radio or a different order?

Not sure if the dialer is part of this (I haven't put it back on since I did the hard reset, as there were some things about it I didn't care for, but other things I loved and now miss ).

You can do a simple hardreset and just go from there. Or if you want to reflash, You should be safe doing just a reflash of XM6 and nothing else. But if you want to start completely over, the yeah, flash back to an official rom, then lay on the radio, then XM6 (really doesn't matter the order of the radio and the custom rom).

BTW: Check your PM before doing all of this ;)

If you want 2.26, then download the T-Mobile WM5 ROM and flash your device. Most custom ROM threads recommend flashing with the official T-Mobile 2.26 ROM before flashing a custom ROM.

There is no IPL/SPL only ROM. Go to the Wizard wiki and get the FTP link - you'll find the T-Mobile ROM there.

Hi there, and your first post in english was just fine. Is your phone a G3 or G4 (whats the IPL and SPL on your phone?). I've never seen a problem like this. I would suggest you first flash back to your phone's official rom (remove your SD card first and leave it out until you get XM6 back on), then install the T-Mobile 2.19 UK radio (I would also suggest you download it again, in case something is wrong with your download). Then install the XM6 rom.

If the signal goes away again, it could be something your carrier is doing to block your phone, as there is no reason that I can think of that it would work for awhile and then stop.

newb here. read some post like the idea of flashing to better the productivity of my 8125. decided i wanted to try out xm6 but was worried because i read the post on flashing a wizard and it says that i have a G4 device and i noticed this requires a IPL/SPL at 2.xx or higher which if im correct is a g3. was wondering if there was a g4 version or if i could convert my fone over or if its just not possible to use this rom on my phone. appreciate any and all help.thanks:D

Mfrazzz, Any chance of posting a list of what reg tweaks you made to the rom with the default settings please

ie HKLM/Software/xxxxxx dword=x (default dword=xx)

this would be a great help for me to customize the rom to my liking,

things like regonal settings, cleartype and several other things that i like different i could change back and leave the others

I had the settings down for the internet and gprs under the wm5 rom that i was using.. but after the upgrade.. no matter what setting I used.. mfrazzz,
I upgraded to this from Crossbow 1.7, and after installing all my usual apps (aim, opera, coreplayer, adobe reader lite, flash, etc.), and changing the boot screen, I noticed that i've been having a major problem: my device takes FOREVER to start up. It stays on the last splash screen for over 4 minutes, before finally allowing me to use the device. Once it loads however, it runs ultra-fast and I have no issue with it, however soft-resets are a pain as it takes up to 4 minutes for the phone to start. I didn't install anything weird, just the same usual standard programs I had with Crossbow 1.7(which I had no issue with). Have any idea what's causing my 8125 to slow down on the last splash screen during boot? Help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I'll consider posting what registry tweaks are in the Release 2 rom (I don't hve time to go back and do this for this current rom), but it will be up to you to determine "defaults" etc. Most of the tweaks are right out of the WiKi so I believe defaults are listed there.

You might want to consider installing Registry Wizard. You can easily change and put back most all of the settings I probably did. But you have to understand, I cook the rom with tweaks in it for how I tend to like things. If you want it different, its really up to you to change it to how you want it.

This is a known issue with this rom. It will be addressed in Release 2. So far I have not seen slow bootups and non of the beta testers of Release 2 have reported slow boot times like this.

And before anyone asks, right now Release 2 appears to be on schedule for a 4th of July release.

Please try different Radios if 2.19 doesn't work for you. I'm assuming you are not on the Cingular network, so newer radios may work better for you.

As for the phone not coming on after being in standby, I have never seen this. Others have reported it, but I personally suspect it has to do with other apps that have been added to your phone and its not a problem with the rom.

I am on the Cingular (Now AT&T) Network using the 2.69 radio with absolutely no problems. I also have one of the first HTC Wizards produced for Cingular. I am not saying that one will not have problems with the 2.69 radio, but I have been using it with XM6 for 2 weeks now and have not experienced one problem. Thanks for the ROM work!

Has anyone sucessfully done Internet Sharing with a Bluetooth PAN on this rom? Every time I do it, and join the PAN connection, it shows Sent Packet activity , but Received Packets shows 0. If I try to ping 192.168.0.1 it doesn't respond. Anyone know why this is?

No problem at all. Last few days I have been using Pandora 3.2, but before that I was using XDA Mobile 6 for longer time and I definitely used Bluettoth PAN (I use my MDA Vario as modem for my home computer). I have never had any problem. I just paired the Wizard with my computer, connected in IS on Wizard, connected on the computer (unlike USB connection you must explicitly press "Connect" button with Bluetooth PAN) and it worked.
I have never had problem with Internet Sharing on any WM 6 ROM I tried...

I hate asking.... haha

But yes, another stupid question..

I got TomTom from a torrent site i go to often for music, they have some programs available - TomTom was one of them. Anyway. on WM5 I was able to connect the GPS to thep hone w/ not to much of a problem.

I just got around to installing TT on the XM6 tonight, but I'm having problems with TT finding the GPS...

Is there maybe something in the registry that you know about that i need to change?

Again, i hate to ask. and sorry if this question was answered before. i did a thread search but nothing showed up...

Yes, it's BT and yes, I paired it.
I will pair it again right now.. just to make sure..
what do you have your com ports set to in your External GPS thing?

EDIT: Aight, so heres the deal...

I have a Bluetooth GPS device that I want to use with TomTom.
I have the BTGPS paired with my phone. (Serial Port checked)
But then in the BT settings page, I go to COM and then go Outgoing Port, and i try to set it to lets say COM 9. It tells me this:
"The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again."

But then when I go to settings>connections>Bluetooth and then set up the COM ports there, it lets me...

Now when i go to TT to set up the GPS device, i choose "Other Bluetooth GPS Device" and then it asks what port i have that beast connected to, so I pick COM9, like i have it set up in the External GPS..

All TT says is "No GPS Device!!!"

Soo ahhhh! I don't know. I guess this is kinda irrelivant to the XM6 ROM, unless the error about not being able to create port has something to do w/ it....

Which just shows you aren't CID unlocked. How about you read the instructions in the first post as they will tell you what you need to do. I specifically state this in the requirements. And since you seemed to have just flashed and assumed it was a problem with my rom, maybe you should do some more research on how you go about flashing a custom rom (There is a sticky at the top of this forum that tells you all of the steps). And you'd better hope you don't have a G4 as you are on the road to a bricked phone if you don't take time to read and learn before just running a flash utility...

Any ideas how to easily switch off GPRS whilst abroad ?

Thats why NoData is in the rom... Just go into NoData and turn off GPRS. You won't have to worry about the phone even attempting to use it.

I need to put this in my 2nd post as it gets asked so much...

Ok, here's what you do:

Go to Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings
Make sure you have the correct Region selected
Click on the Time tab
Click on the drop down box for Time Style
Notice the little up and down arrows? This is a scrolling region in this dropdown. Click the up arrow a couple of times and you'll find h:mm:ss tt

Thats it. Microsoft is amazing at having a 2 line scrolling region on this dropdown. You'd think they would have had at least 3 or 4 lines show up for chosing (and it would be more obvious that its a scrolling region then too).

Well this rom is strange for me, it's the only rom that never completes the flash process using shelltool. I have to pull the usb lead out after i give up waiting.

I have tried this out on two different pc's, same result.

Every other rom completes in 10 mins (except reloaded 1.7.1, 18 mins)

Anyone else having this issue ?

Also for me i think that 1.7.1 is faster than xm6

And also the stereo bluetooth quality is very harsh sounding on vocals, yet the music is fine on both of the above roms ?

Think i'll try reloaded 1.7 final out, or may go back to core 2.0n, thats the one i have settle with the best.

Flash back to an official rom. Pull out your SD card, then try flashing this rom.

What happens when it gets to 99%? Do you get an error? I may take up to 5 mins (some report even longer) when it gets at 99% before it goes to 100%, so until your PC gives an error, don't do anything and just let it sit.

What are you talking about? The links to T-Mobile are for the official WM5 ROM. YOu put that on first so that you have a known and stable base. IT updates your IPL/SPL and should give you an Extended ROM to clear corruption that can happen. Then, you install the XM6 rom and this is what gives you WM6.

Please take time to read the instructions in the first post. I feel I'm very clear what needs to be done and give you all the links you need to to this successfully...

Happened to me as well, you might want to do this, Uninstall ActiveSync 4.5 > Restart PC > Install ActiveSync 4.5 > Restart > Recover with T-Mobile's ROM or Cingular Depending on which carrier your phone belongs to > After that sync it once with your PC > Make sure the cable is hooked on the back of PC not front of PC as most of them are JACKs > Then After your first Sync, try flashing again > Make sure you wait good amount of time. Some time flashing takes 15-20 mins. 30 Mins top though. It should work fine. First Time it took me 15 min to flash a tmobile rom as mine is cingular rom. So give that a try and make sure you remove your SD Card out. Have fun

In case you haven't seen the new thread, XDA Mobile 6 Release 2 (XM6r2) is officially released!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315178

There are two flavors. A "Full Version" (which is basically like the original XM6 with fixes and enhancements) and a "Lite Version" which is a Less-Filling blend with just what I consider essential tools.

Enjoy!

So. Heres the fix if anyone gets into the same situation. (GPS not conecting)

I went back to WM5, didn't let the 'setup' setup all the way, just flashed right to XDA. Bad move. And on top of that I flashed w/ SPL\IPL 3.08 to the cingular official. idk if that caused problems, but anyway.

I flashed TWICE to the official cingular rom. And then back to XDA GPS works great, TomTom finds the way around. :)

Anyway, just downloaded XDA6v2. and just installed it, seems to be working great. will let you know how it is. (boots up faster. so far.. haha)

using Orange in the Netherlands, the XDA release 2 ROM, IPL/SPL 2.18 and radio 2.61. (formerly 2.19, but that didn't work either)
No MMS is delivered to the phone, sending just a few characters through MMS takes ages.
Just returned back to an official Orange ROM and everything works fine.
And yes, all settings are correct.

Great ROM. New life on my MDA. I'm not worthy. Thanks.

Question about one of the utilities included in XM6. There is a new version of wififofum, and the program prompted me to update. Now I have 2 icons, and what appear to be 2 fully functioning versions of the program. (I know because clicking on the original icon still prompts me to upgrade). One icon is in the Accessories folder (original to XM6), and the other is in the general Programs list (update to v.2.2.12). How do I get rid of the original version if it does not readily appear in the uninstall utility.

All you people that keep getting stuck on 99%, you are NOT following directions. Remember to remove the miniSD card, disable hibernation, recharge batteries, install/run lokiwiz, revert to an earlier ActiveSync and ROM, etc. Follow directions! I got stuck at 99% and came to realize that I simply was not following directions. No magic to getting it done.

Well if you install the new version with the cab (the way most people would) you would have 2 versions as the one in the rom is in \Windows and the one you installed via the cab is now probably in \Program Files. Easiest solution is to just go into \Windows\Start menu\Programs\Accessories and delete that shortcut for the one built into the rom. You can't uninstall it since its actually part of the rom. You could then move the new shortcut to be in the Accessories folder if you prefer it to be there.

Thanks. Having deleted the file as you suggested, is there anything more to do? Are there any broken "links" in the ROM?

Not sure what you mean by broken links. You should be fine now. The \Windows folder will still have the old WiFiFoFum in it, but you can't do anything about that since its part of the rom.

I heard about this program that will send am sms to you if an unauthorized sim is placed in your phone. Does anyone have this as an .exe or .cab file I want to place it on my 8525 without having to flash a new ROM.

That is true, but I think most thieves, will grab a PPC and then slam their SIM card into it (if thats their intent to get a new device. If they are just after free calls, then they won't switch the SIM card but use your own until you have it shut off). I don't believe most thieves go just for PPC's but for any phone they can find to then use for calls. Due to this, most thieves don't have a clue how to hard reset a device like ours. Now if its sold, then yeah, it will probably get hard reset and probably reflashed.

But anything that could possibly assist in trackign a phone is worth the space in a rom (IMO).

Also, since we have the tools so readily available, you can cook your own rom and then cook into it the mjc.bin file that Mobile Justice uses. Then a hardreset will not impact your settings (only a reflash would wipe it out).

Your posts are confusing me... Do you have an 8525 or an 8125? 8525 is a Hermes and you should not be trying to flash a Wizard rom on your phone (which is what this rom is). If you have an 8125, then you are not CID unlocked based on what you just typed. See the first post of this thread for links to instructions on how to CID unlock and flash your phone.

BTW: This is an older release of my rom. If you do have an 8125, then I was suggest you install XM6r2a and not this version. Its found in a seperate thread (see my sig for the link). But again, you have to be CID unlocked and running a Wizard device (8125 / MDA / KJAM etc) to flash these roms. Otherwise if you do have an 8525, I'd suggest you go look for roms in the Hermes forum before you brick your phone.

Hey people .. I have just read the whole thread ... Missed a good 1 as I found most of these issues and fixed them already . Now 1 little problem which im doing a little testing on .. Got mms working fine , can text can send pics . Big issue is I cant use no instant messenger programs unless connect via activesync to computer . Has anyone seen this isssue . I installed the T-Mobile_OZ_Instant_Messaging cab as whats in wm5. Still can connect ... Adjusted gprs to stay on so far no good . did ll the gprs settings as from t-mobile site . Got all calls working , No bluetooth issues . All messages come and missed calls are fine . Signal is also perfect . hmmmm .

OK .. Solved my own problem . As many of you may know i'm a flash-a-holic. So I flashed buttons rom .. then MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511 next T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radio_Only and next step was XDA_Mobile_6.0.0. All this to find out same problem . So I went back to my original set up which was buttons rom .. then MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511 and back to Wm6 . Now funny thing as I flashed back and no instant messaging wouldn't work I said let me just scan thru all settings . Viola ... I found the issue . So if anybody else runs into this probllem or a similar 1 it oh so simple .....

Start => Settings => Connections => Connections => Advance => Select Networks => Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using : ... Set that to your MMS settings mines I named T-mobile GPRS. Such a simple solution . Like I said before I missed a sweet thread because I found most of the solutions here on my own ...

I've searched this forum, and i don't think i find it anywhere.

May i first say, this is an excellent ROM, i tried crossbow and many others, and this by far is the best, so yeah, thumbs up for this.

After getting round the problem with the keyboard settings (I'm from the UK) i've stumbled across the fact that i can no longer open my contacts, rather strange as when i first flashed the rom it worked. I click contacts a little white rectangle appears in the corner and the "x" for closing the application appears also, but then they both promptly disapear. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi mfrazz.

Thank you so much for your fine work. This ROM flies, very well done. i have a problem though with the reminders like the clock alarm. When I set up the alarm and this goes off, does not appear in the Today screen the dialog to dismiss it or at the right hand side menu and then snooze 5 min, 10 min, etc. So the alarm carries on and on and the only solution is to put the volume down, but then remains a very annoying orange led flashing. I have tried to configure it in Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications but the alarm does not appear in that menu.

Has this happened to anyone?

Thanks again

Dude, please stop directing everyone to the new thread if they are just asking for assistance on an older version. Not everyone is running the latest version (you can point out there is a newer version though) and if they have problems then the problem should be posted in the thread for the version they are running. I don't want posts about r2a an the original version in the r3 thread.

By default when someone replies to a thread, that thread pops to the top of the forum, and I (and others) will see there is a new post that way (so it will be noticed).

It's not for everyone, but there is a newer version of XDA Mobile 6 ROM out there called XM6r3, there's a link to it in my sig. Maybe the upgrade will help you out, and maybe you might even like it better!

You aren't telling us anything about your device. Whats the IPL/SPL? Is it a G3 or G4? Is it CID Unlocked or not? Have you followed the steps in the stickies at the top of this forum (and that I specifically tell you you HAVE to follow in the first post of this thread).

BTW: Why are you flashing this version? This is an old version and while I'll answer questions, my support answer will be to upgrade to the latest version (found in my sig). Are you still running this version? As I recall there were some issues in this version with slow boots and the commManager being slow. But in my experience, on WM6, the CommManager is always slow to start. In XM6r3, I've went to using pbar in the rom, and you can do a lot of the commManager stuff right in pbar (so I almost never start up the commManager now).

i just unlocked, ran the bat and all the rom updates.

it's an 8125, ipl and spl are now 2.26, gsm shows 02.19.11 and the os is 10.1.0.811

i'm having problems with it hanging up, slow booting, when you use flight mode it won't come out of flight mode unless you do a soft reset and sometimes when i try to access EDGE (opening a browser or web based prog.) it will not start the data connection. i used the link in the original post in this thread, is it the same version as in your sig?

the rom is very nice, i like it when it works, if a few of the minor issues i am having are fixed, it'd be really awesome! either way, thanks for cooking it.

for those getting the errors, go back over each step ONE BY ONE. I got it on the first crack and before a few weeks ago i'd never heard of such a thing.

BTW, the t-mobile 2.19 radio ram kicks ass. my 8125 used to get the worst damned signal and would miss calls every day, now i have the strongest signals ever.

Thanks,

Mike

All of these things are fixed in XM6r3 (which is what is in my sig) and lots more features and apps... I would recommend you upgrade. XM6 and XM6r2 both had issues with slow boot times, and things not starting and stopping properly in the CommManager.

My first question is why do you want to flash this versus the newer XM6 roms I've released. No biggie, but I made many improvements and updated the software in the newer versions. See my sig for the latest version (XM6r5) which will go final in 24 to 36 hours.

As for the 99%, not really sure why you are getting this but I remember others having similar problems on this version and others. Have you tried removing your SD card when you flash this? Have you flashed directly to the bootloader?

You could also take the nk.nbf file from this rom and put it in the folder for Octavio's rom and see if it works with his RUU for some reason.

mFrazzz version is quite excellent, however I used to have my Qtek A9100 (or Cingular 8125) in Spanish language with Claro and the last rom had a better Radio version: 02.44.11, does anybody has a greater version, just the radio, to install?

I don't really miss it but I think there would be some issues with it...

:( MMS and Internet have some issue regarding configuration, however I think the problem is related to any version and this particular phone.

Regards,

Carlos

How to not have a 24hour Clock (or how to show AM/PM)

This works on all WM6 roms

Go to Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings
Make sure you have the correct Region selected
Click on the Time tab
Click on the drop down box for Time Style
Notice the little up and down arrows? This is a scrolling region in this dropdown. Click the up arrow a couple of times and you'll find h:mm:ss tt

Thats it. Microsoft is amazing at having a 2 line scrolling region on this dropdown. You'd think they would have had at least 3 or 4 lines show up for chosing (and it would be more obvious that its a scrolling region then too).

Connecting WM6 to the Internet via ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP

For those having issues connecting to the internet via Active Sync, cut and paste this code onto your PC in a file called net_over_activesync.reg and run it (on your PC not your phone)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]

Splash Screens and Splash Only RUU for G4

For G4 users, I've attached a zip file with the Splash Screens of this rom (since you don't get them when you use the shell tool). As I understand it, this is completely safe for a G4 as its nothing but splash screens (no OS, IPL, SPL, Extended ROM, etc, just splash and htc logo screens). I've also placed the .bmp files that make up the splash screen in the zip file so you can see them directly before flashing this. Before anyone asks, yes, the htc logo one is grainy. I had to do that due to size limitations of the file. I tried for a couple of hours to get a nicer version to work but it wouldn't display correctly (seems to have to be pretty low res / non-complex)
If you have problems flashing the above RUU on a G4, then extract this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=29158&d=1152698784 and pull the nk.nbf file out of the above Splash Screen file and put it into the directory of this one and run this RUU. You can use the same method for flashing the Radio Only ROM (pull the nk.nbf file out of the radio only rom and put it into the directory of this RUU and run it). Thanks anichillus for that link!

Weather Panel Setup

See my post in the Wizard forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307781) on how I setup WeatherPanel. It will give you a fixed dll with correct moon phases through 2008, new/better Moon phase icons, and a cool theme called Chameleon-240 QVGA. I dumped SBSH Pocket Weather after seeing this setup :)

Hermes Black Cabs that may be of Interest
XM6 has Transcriber, VoIP, and Windows Live all integrated in it, but I wanted to point out the Black 3 Add-on CABs file (http://sinisterfrog.com/getblack/Black%203%20Add-on%20CABS.rar) as there are others in it that may be of interest. Included in this file is Cyberon VoiceCommander, Cyberon Voice Dial, VIjay555 utils, and a Slingbox patch (none of these I've tested) and Adobe Reader LE.

10 Button Black CommManager
Some seem to think 10 buttons are better than 8, and some just like the look of the 10 button CommManager over the 8 button one in this rom. So attached to this post is a zip file with the 10 Button Black CommManager. You shouldn't have to use the cert cab file, just run the CommManager one.

Turning off Word Selection
Some people do not like how Windows Mobile tries to suggest words that you may be typing. If you are one of those people, jacob-mda wrote up a post on how to turn it off. Check out This Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311441).

New DialPad to match the CommManager
The EquinoXe was successful at pulling out the dial pad from the HTC Touch and it matches up with the CommManager in XM6 very nicely (see pic attached below). I've attached the CAB to this thread, so if you'd like to use this dialpad, just download and install. Cool!

More info to come, so check back here periodically!

.

I uploaded your ROM on my Cingular 8125 however my external media card )Mini SD) is not being recognized ? Is there a solution to this issue?
