View Full Version : Kitchen Beta Testers Needed

I (http://www.sendspace.com/file/95w6cc) need a few volunteers to test out a new kitchen setup for the new 318 rom that was just released.
It has massive room for additional programs to be installed - possibly greater than the 1413 build. See this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1302556&postcount=122)for what I got to fit.
It still needs the comm manager fixed - as it has the 8 button that just came out that doesn't have all the setting options. I may just go back to the 10 button for now.
Let me know and i'll PM you the link. I don't want to release this until a few others have tried it.

okay, thanks to eveyrone who PM'd me. I'll reply with the download link shortly.
FYI I reverted it back to the 10 button black comm manager. Future cookers can do whatever they want.

I swapped the comm manager back to the 10 button, but I didn't get all registry settings in. Here's the .rgu - please replace the one under /SYS/Custom Tweaks...

I missed one more reg setting - the .rgu should take care of it now. See post 8

Having Audio Manager and WMP together (is looks like anyway) is causing a conflict. When you try and select a ring tone, it won't close, won't play, and from then on the phone won't open. Removing Audio Manager and trying again...
Edit: No luck. Something else is preventing the the phone settings from changing/playing ringtones. Going back to the basics...
Replaced the phone set from a working build, testing now...

Implus refuses to build, even if it's the only thing checked in the kitchen, it kicks out the following error:
Implus 4.35 Error, last status: "Processing: OEM\IM_PPC"
The file 'temp\dump\Setup.dll' already exists.

check your SYS or OEM folder for that duplicate file
That occurs when a file already exists is another package

Not sure who offered that package up, I never tried to use it.
I'll just pull it from the final package.
Thanks
Edit: unless there's an easy fix :)

There's a setup.dll in the SYS\1-Calc folder, it's not a show stopper anyhow :)
instead of ringing, my phone vibrates instead even though I haven't set it to vibrate. Must be related to the phone problem you posted earlier.

I'm gonna flash with no OEM packs, and if that doesn't fly, bring back over my older 318 /SYS components until I find the offending part. The ones I would have assumed causing the issue didn't pan out.
Running out of steam, might have to crash for a few...
Edit: Not the OEM packs, it's gotta be the SYS/ROM. Probably a corruption from the decompile of the original rom. Now the fun begins...
Edit: Getting warmer, it's somewhere between .ROM and OEMAPPS...
Edit: Between FWUPDATE and NetCF, not including Metadata...
Edit: Missing dll in MediaOS called xmeevtsnd.dll. very, very strange... final fix test flashing now... *yawn*
Edit: That was it!

It's too bad there's not good (if any) error checking when dumping ROM's I can see that being a bugger. Don't forget to sleep sometime :P
Noticed one small thing, PocketRAR shows up in both programs and programs/accessories. easy enough to fix, just listing it for completeness.
This ROM flies!

FIX: Here's the dll folder that needs to go into /SYS/MediaOS.
Testing the duplicate RAR entry now.

I just removed the initflashfiles.txt from PocketRAR, that should fix that. I'm testing now...

Okay, so the PocketRAR fix worked fine - only resides in the Accessories folder now.
So, here's the list of issues that have been resolved:
Unable to change ringtone / phone function locking up (missing dll)
Windows Live not latest version (brought over from 1413)
Windows Live passport authentication not correct (updated .rgu)
PocketRar duplicate icons (removed initflashfiles.txt)
Comm Manager not showing correct # of buttons (fixed .rgu)
Office 2007 cert error (fixed .rgu)
I reflashed my personal setup, and everything looks great. Unless anyone has any concerns, I think it's ready to let go. I'm off to get a few hours shut-eye...

To have the 8 button to work you should have the reg keys like this!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\WrlsMgr]
"Redirect"="Commmanager.exe"
"Hide"=dword:00000001
"Group"=dword:00000002
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager]
"DisableButtonText"=dword:00000002
"SupportedFunctions"=dword:00000008
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\7]
@="ActiveSync"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\6]
@="Vibrate"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\5]
@="DataDisconnection"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\4]
@="AUTD"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\3]
@="WLAN"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\2]
@="Bluetooth"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\1]
@="Phone"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\0]
@="FlightMode"
It works great, so i dont know how you could not get it! And also the pictures go to the slot, so if you chnage around the above things you will still get the same button image, but funtion would be different!

I added the extra entry (first reg setting), but it doesn't resolve the settings issue. I've got it flashed on my phone now, so I'll play with it for a while.

there's a dll in the MediaOS folder that is not getting extracted properly. I attached it in an earlier post. that was a bugger to find...

How is that related to whether the ringtones can be changed or not? Mine play, but just won't change. Mine appears to have extracted successfully and are the same size as the one you posted.

ah, ok. I'd suggest either file by file comparing the media OS directories, or just replacing them with these:

After running it through the 1st time, MMS is not installing after flashing the finished product. I ran the creation a flash process twice just to make sure. Still, MMS is not installing.
I ran through everything else and all is good.
I'm surprised @ how much you can put in and how much snap this ROM has.
