I created this Cab originally at the request of crazyut. He has tested the cab file and seems to be working well. If there are any issues please direct them here and I will look into them.

can you really send 600k on tmobile?
Apparently you can, I have seen other settings out there for T-mobile and they have always asked for 600k and the person that I made the cab for is sending 600k without any problems.

Sorry about saying that the link was bad. It was my error.
I kept getting an error message, becasue I had acidently hit the link button apparently several times, the same application running in the background, so when I tried to open it , it would give me an error message. I apologize for the posting

you enter bootloader this way for universal, press and hold light, then press and hold power, then push reset and release. you should then see a dim screen and on one end it says "ser." and on the other end a number "1.0" or similar. but you really see this only if you hold the screen into a lightsource.
You have a universal, I got this from doing a Google search. The Wiki is very up to date for the universal.
Please keep this thread to the topic of T-mobile Cab. I found you the answer you needed, anything else you will have to post in the appropriate forum and thread.

OK, thank you, but I will post the questipon in the correct forum. But, I know how to put my d3evice into bootloadser, but what I am saying is, that it will not go into bootloader when doing this procedure. The screen just stays black

Go in to connection settings first and delete the settings there first make sure you right them down first and then go to MMS and go to server tab and delete the settings that you see there, again write them down just in case the cab doesn't work for you.

You should be able to get IE without them setting you up. I am not that sure how T-mobile works though, maybe someone with T-Mobile can let him know.

The problem is i dont have any setting anymore when i go to sms/mms folder..
I had them before when i had WM5 the one that was preinstalled on my phone..but after i upgraded to Schaps WM6 when i go to sms/mms folder and click menu and then options it just gives me one result: do you want sent notifications?..and thats it....
I was thinking that i might find sms options somewhere else but no luck...
When i try to send mms it goes to outbox and it will seat there forever showing little clock on the right top corner of the envelop.....
I guess no one else same problem...
As always..i am the only one:)

To get into the MMS or SMS settings you have to start to create a new message then go to menu, tools and options, it also sounds like you might have some kind of timer set up for when the MMS to be sent, I can't think of any other reason for the clock to be there, keep playing with it.

Different Operators use different connection settings. I believe that that person was trying to change the way that things were sorted and how they connected to the internet and MMS. If you don't have internet account don't connect to the internet. Some ISP's will link there MMS through there internet connections but most won't, most require a separate connection.

The size should be 600K, when you are sending a message go in to the options and and check the server settings, at the bottom it should have a drop down menu listing the message sizes that can be sent. Glad to here it's working for you.
If you have trouble finding the options in MMS let me know, the different ROM's out there are set up a little different.

...do you know why T-mobile has 2 different APN's.
They have three, actually. Not positive, but I think it breaks down to this:
$39.99/month, Unlimited w/VPN, internet3.voicestream.com
$29.99/month, Unlimited w/o VPN, internet2.voicestream.com
$5.99/month, Web-Browsing/Mail only*, wap.voicestream.com
You can use any APN you want, as long as it's your plan's APN or lower (ie, The $29/mo people can't use internet3.)
* Note: In some cities, the $5.99/month plan is also wide-open (like Cleveland) but not in other cities (like Colorado Springs.)

Your choices should be 100k, 300k, and 600k, I can make it so that you don't have choices. When you go in to the server tab for MMS, is there only the T-mobile choice there? You can also try to reinstall the cab file, don't erase anything just install the cab file again and see if it takes.
Let me know. I double checked the cab file and it has the max set to 600k.I think the reinstall might do it, make sure to soft reset following.

Check with T-mobile to find out what plan you have and download the appropriate cab based on your subscription. If you continue to have problems with not having 600k let me know and I will make a cab that doesn't give options just 600k.

Not sure where your running into problems, There are other T-mobile cabs out there that you can try if this didn't work for you, just do a google search. I know that people using certain ROM's have had issues including people that are still using WM5. Others that have experienced difficulties are people that have not deleted there settings before installing the cab.
The other thing you can try is to install the settings manually, if that doesn't work the issue may be something else.

I have the T-mobile $5.99 plan (cheep ass me) which requires a proxy to be setup, and I have NEVER seen a cab that came anywhere close to setting up the proxy.
Another problem is receiving downsized pictures.
And then there's the problem of automatically connecting thru WIFI or ASYNC when they are available.
This cab fixes all these problems and also defaults to 600k send limit!
I've done 2 other cabs for the other t-mobile plans. they should work, but they haven't been tested.
I'd like to know if this works for the people that have had problems with the other cabs.
cabs moved to new thread:

I dont know if any one checks this thread anymore, but I have a quick question. Do these work if I have a Blackberry Unlimited Data plan? Will T-Mobile know if I am using a HTC Wizard (not a blackberry) and charge me differently?

I have an 8525 w/wm6 everything works except for the mms for t-mobile. Has anybody been in the same situation as me and installed a cab and had everything work. If so which cab? I'm new to this whole unlocked phone thing, like I said the only thing not working is my picture messaging.
Thanks for any help and info.:)

I just want to share this with people...
If your area doesn't have the $5.99 open internet, and you don't want to pay $29.99 for the full internet + hotspot. There is one alternative if you can give up the hot spot access.
Log into your Tmobile account via tmobile.com, and change your device to a black berry device. You will see there is a new internet option that is $19.99, which give you unlimited internet but no hot spot access.
Hope this helps...

i regards to #75, if you have t-mobile usa the Hotspot Total Internet Add-on is now only 19.99$. this includes unlimited gprs/edge data and the t-mobile hotspots. seems like a good deal to me. i dont think this includes vpn though. might have to call tech support to get them to switch over to internet3 connections for you.

Who cares about a screen shot, if it's real then share and we can all find out for ourselves. (isn't that what this forum is all about?)

Okay... after two days of searching, referencing wiki's, faq's and all sorts of hits on google and msn at howardforums, here, and all sorts of smartphone forums... I have to ask my question....
I've tried several different settings, and currently, I have my SMT5600 (unlocked and with a tmobile sim, running WM2003) set up the following way. Mind you this allows me to browse the full internet, but i cannot send/recieve MMS messages. (Oh ya... and I have the 5.99 plan)
As complete a listing as i know:
Proxy
Connects From WAP
Connects TO Internet
Proxy Name: 216.155.165.50:8080
Type HTTP
GPRS
Connects to WAP
AP: wap.voicestream.com
DNS's are set to 0.0.0.0
MMSC
Preferences, connect via WAP
Settings
MMSC URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
WAP gateway: 216.155.165.50 (but i've also tried it with wap.voicestream.com)
Port 9021
and i've tried all the sending sizes
The funny thing is, i have AOL weather alerts scheduled from my tmobile, and those come through as MMS just fine. However i can't recieve pics/video or any other mms from another mobile..... and i can't send them myself.
So i beg of the gods out there... help me... you're my only hope :P

I'm not sure if I'm on the right thread or not. I have an Atom Exec WM5 and I use a prepaid T-Mobile Sim Account. Here lies my question: What is this Cab for? Can I use this Cab? I don.t have the MMS settings for my Atom Exec**going to sms/tools/settings I only have the text message account and "Create A New Account** I read in the thread that I need to create a new message to access the MMS Settings and I couldn't find the settings either.
Is it even possible for T-Mobile prepaid users to send MMS???or access GPRS???

I created this Cab originally at the request of crazyut. He has tested the cab file and seems to be working well. If there are any issues please direct them here and I will look into them.
Please ensure that you delete your old settings before installing the cab, It would also be a good idea to write them down.
Enjoy
The second and third cab has a different Access Point Name for the Internet.
This seams to be the breakdown.
$5.99/month, Web-Browsing/Mail only*, wap.voicestream.com =Lurch3559 T-mobile.cab
$29.99/month, Unlimited w/o VPN, internet2.voicestream.com =Lurch2 T-mobile.cab
$39.99/month, Unlimited w/VPN, internet3.voicestream.com =Lurch3 T-mobile.cab
You can use any APN you want, as long as it's your plan's APN or lower (ie, The $29/mo people can't use internet3.)
* Note: In some cities, the $5.99/month plan is also wide-open (like Cleveland) but not in other cities (like Colorado Springs.)
Thanks to ANTC and Hmoll for updated settings and APN breakdown.
umm directions on where to install would help the newbies.

just delete your old setting in the connections menu, then download which ever .cab file that is setup for your plan. Then use activ sync and copy the file over to the wizard. then go to file explorer and click on the file that you dragged over and it will say successfully installed, restart if you want and it might or might not work depending on where you live.

I'm trying to help a friend out. he's got my old 8125. I CID and SIM unlocked it. Flashed it to T-Mobile's 2.26. it has Blackdiamond 2.0 for the Rom. Anyway, i deleted the settings and then i think it set up everything correctly except it won't send regular text messages anymore. it'll receive just fine. No dice on the sending. Haven't tried the MMS on it. i ended up doing "clear storage" to get the text working again. But that's no fun. Any ideas why that didn't work? or is it because it's an 8125?

My first post on this forum...
I used one of Lurch's cab files to put the settings in, and afterwards, I could no longer get MMS messages, only SMS. After reading through the replies here, I extracted the settings (Very tricky of HTC/TMo to only allow those options when creating a new MMS). I am now able to send, but only with port 9201 using WAP 1.2 I'm still working on the receive end.
Between the install and now, I tried a hard reset to get rid of any settings, but I'm now seeing two registry entries where it seems that there should be one.
Question 1. Does a hard reset not eliminate registry entries?
Question 2. Does flashing with the RUU eliminate registry entries?

Hi Lurch,
your cabs got me started. the MMS didn't work on my WM6 Wizard, but the connections settings were as close as any cab I've seen. I thought that maybe I could edit it and get my settings perfect, and I think I have!
I'd like to know if this works for the people that have had problems with the other cabs.
cabs moved to new thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395203
