I think that I found a bug in the wwe rom and I wonder if you have corrected it in your rom.

Normally Voice Speed Dial should be in Settings and not in Programs.

I have used Voice Speed Dial quite a lot in WM5 as I controlled almost totally by voice commands (calls to contacts, applications/utilities) my device.

I have just upgraded to WM6 and with this rom Voice Speed Dial is in Settings (and not in Programs) you can open it (from Programs) and you can access its function but not the configuration+settings+options, you save some voice tags and once you have closed it you cannot open it any more in order to add/remove/edit voce tags.... :-(.

Do you also have this problem in your rom?

I have also noticed that WMP does not play MP4 files.... If I rename them as .avi all works fine, but no MP4... Weird!!!

Whatever WM6 rom you have now on your device, please check if this/these bug/s (?) is/are there and if not PLEASE tell me which rom I should try.

Or maybe if you have the chance/time could you PLEASE send me a solution to this problem?

WM6 (Pro ;)) looks more stable than WM5 were

The only thing I found bad is WLM adding ALL contacts to phone contacts, such a boring way to find a contact to call in the middle of these fu*kin' mail adresses :lol: (use stylus to make your selection and tap on Menu and tap on Delete selected contacts can help)

guys, very first post, so be gentle
Tried this ROM and it stops just after it starts and says the file/rom is corrupted and ends immediately, phone re-boots and nothing much happens, that is, the handset is as it was before.

I ran the USPL update thingy and then the rom update utility.

I have tried the new radio version 02.93.90 and the blackblue wm6 rom, same messges and issues.

Can anyone help please? If I can get the newest radio and or black/blue rom I would be most appreciative.

having flashed USPL my device went through the process and then comes back in same state as started is this correct.

What next do I need to run or indeed put something in the Black and Blue folder to run it. ie ROMupdate utility.

1) SMS cannot be opened: We know you are working on that and there are quite a few of us who are waiting for your "OK I've fixed it!"... :D

2) If you click on the (closed) SMS (tring to open it) the Messaging window cannot be closed any more by stylus... You need to use the red button to force close it.

3) With the WiFi on (and while being connected to the Internet) if you click on the WiFi sign (left of phone signal radio) the message (in blue letters) says "Turn on Wi-Fi".... but the Wi-Fi is already ON and active.... The text should say: "Turn off Wi-Fi" and by clicking on it the wireless should be turned off.

4) The clock of the HTC Home runs (up to) 30 seconds ahead of the device clock.

5) The WiFi sign (left of phone signal radio) remains on (instead of turning into the "G" or "E" or "x") even when the Wireless is disconnected.

Beside these minor (except the one of the SMS) issues the rom is a JEWEL :)

I really like the look and feel of this - great work... unfortunately it's not only SMS that doesn't open... ANY email has the same problem... it doesn't open (at least if sync'ed against and Exchange Server, but I doubt this has anything to do with it)...

Tom_codon, if you get this fixed, PLEASE post something soon... I'll have to go to a different ROM in the meantime as I really need the email part to work :-)

flashing now to an o2 orbit that is sim unlocked but not otherwise unlocked, using the USPL method. 43%! if I have problems with the sms, email or otherwise I'll post them in the next couple of hours.

burn completed successfully, it keeps the original bootscreen. New green windows mobile splashscreen, and then there's wm6. Very nice...

sms problem is there, affects emails too. if you receive an sms it pops up on the screen as normal, notification sound and all, but then if you go into messaging to open a saved sms, you can't. it registers the command (whether you tap or press the ok hardbutton on the phone) but does nothing.

workaround tho: press and hold on the sms, or just select it and press and hold the trackball button on the phone, and choose "forward". then it displays the text inline.

otherwise a very nice rom (in the first 5 minutes). thanks for the hard work!!

I found that using your repacked upgrade utility my phone was changed to a BIG storage ROM. Extended_ROM is no longer existed. I guess it's overwritten or binded to a single storage space (55.59 MB). Is this your intention? How could you do that?

I also get error message from time to time that my phone is running low on free storage space. This happens when I run some programs like windows media player although it has 46.23 MB of free storage memory. I never had this error when I used Tom's original ROM.

GPS is working fine, but i write few post beafore about sms, and sms in my artemis work fine but i cannot read mail message.... and this is not good. I try install some third party applications, after this i give you more information.

I've got a bit of a wifi bug, It doesn't show up or switch on. Maybe this is because I updated the radio as well, any ideas?
Also spb mobile shell seems to have some issues, so I'm just going to bin it, but I really liked the spb menu for one finger use, anyone know a good replacement, I was thinking of trying an iphone thing.

Great news Tom .... we all really appreciate for your swiftness to our requests.

BTW:
1. Is it possible to include HTC Audio Booster into v2 ROM - so that it actually functions on the device, as it never did in other ROMs that had it.
2. There is that package from Cingular called MusicID - you play a music and phone listens via mic and then tells youthe artist name and track title by connecting to some online database .... this of course if it can work for anyone apart and not only Cingular users .... a cool and must have small application.

big thanks for mr Tom, a almost perfect rom..just a few minor issues.
email isn't opening and i'm missing the new menu for a new sms on the left site. Now we have to click on the right to open the menu and go there to new sms.
For tomtom, just install a program cab file from tomtom. the original or another and tomtom will work just fine.
For people who wants a battery bar on top of the todayscreen..search for LvmTopBat.cab (8kb) in the forums.
and yes, i have from time to time also the error from that my phone is running low on free storage space.
So here some solutions and some issues.
But i know that Mr Tom will work on these in V2. But can you just make a cab file to repair those minor issues instead of a new rom.

One question. If I run games I regularly get phone is low on storage memory even though the games are on SD card somehow the storage space is reducing, even if I close all apps still show little or no storage . Soft reset and it all comes back

any ideas.

oke, i just de-installed jimmy vista dialer and everything is oke..strange cause in the previous version i had no problem with installing the new dialer. The raison for the new dialer is that it contains a speeddialing button and tom's dialer hasen't a speeddialer

It does't have a speed dial button, but if you press left on the d-pad you will get access to the speed dial menu.

folder GPSID_HTC.dll inside OEMDrivers needs to be replaced by the original folder gpsid.dll from an Orange rom B)

I have a left softkey problem when using "WM5NewMenu" it still launches contacts. So I installed "SoftKey" applet to try and sort it out. This gives me a new settings/system icon which when clicked gives a dropdown menu from which I can select all apps and new sms etc. for left or right softkey. Then I selected "WM5NewMenu" and it now works good except that the left soft key now says "WM5NewMenu" on it and not "My Menu" as I would have it. Could this be the most pointless bug anyone will find?

Great work indeed. Thank you very much for all the effor you put into this. I'm on version 2 now and evrything seems to be working great on XDA Orbit. I'm waiting for a GPS signal as well as we speak, but it's just too couldy out there today I doubt I'll be pikcing anything up, but it looks like it's working nicely.

The message is still there for the low storage space, there seems to be a little leak somewhere as program memory drops to 15 mb quite rapidly. I hope you figure out around this as well. Perfect and flawless otherwise.

edit-- I have a feeling it's the HTC home plugin, I just disabled it and the program memory jumped to 23. I'll report back if I see the message again. Cheers.

Hi Everybody,

I am having a problem and I would like to know if it is only me or somebody else has noticed that too:

Normally making backups with Sprite V5.1.0 Build 1417 went extremely smoothly but since I have flashed B&B (I had this both with V. 1 &2) I experience the following:

At the end of the backup process (once selected the destination folder and written a short reference note) Sprite will say that it needs to reboot, I click on YES and the device reboots, upon rebooting it shows a few seconds of white screen with the Sprite backup progress bar (the customary one with the device and the Sd card icons) and ONLY after 3-4 seconds Today pops up.

Device is frozen until you tap on any icon, then it reboots (once more BY ITSELF totally UNSOLICITED & UNANNOUNCED) and when reboot completes the Sprite notification says: "Backup completed successfully with warnings" (Warning: File could not be included \Windows\compimeh.04.09.dat).

The actual backup file has been stored in the right destination folder... only I am not so happy about the warning and this weird behaviour (double reboot + frozen device).

Please note that before making Sprite backups I always set the device on Flight mode for obvious reasons.

Anybody would come forward with some suggestions?

BTW, (indipendently from Sprite) I also had a couple of times the low storage warning and I am faaaar from being out of storage space.

Beside the above the B&B (as I said in previous posts) is a REAL MASTERPIECE... thanks TOM and thanks POF. I belive that some donations to both are more than deserved and I hope that most of you will follow... I do believe that to come up with the cool stuff we are now tapping on costed not only them but also Bepe quite some time & resources... please, correct me if I am wrong.

Concluding I really hope that somebody will test Sprite and get back to me with some ideas.

I use SPB backup which works fine, so far I've not seen the error. It occurred to me that maybe it could be that it is failing to backup/restore some part of the USPL thing that it cant get it's head around.

A question to all the "pros": How can I combine two ROMs? I know this question has been posted several times, but never answered. I have the German O2 ROM and this beautiful ROM. @SiperX: Okay, I just installed sprite and performed a backup. It completed successfully and without freezing. It soft reset at the beginning and after the backup as is normal. I had the same warning: (Warning: File could not be included \Windows\compimeh.04.09.dat). Don't know what this means. I looked and that file is present under \windows and is 68kb.

I've still got PDAVIET v1 and haven't had any low storage warnings. There's currently 16.2mb device and 18.3mb program memory. My sprite version is 5.0.1, build 1384.

btw, the sprite user guide says:

Version 1.0 with NBH upgrade utility (after USPL patch):
1. Big Storage Memory but usually "Low Storage Memory" error.
2. Extended_rom overwritten.

Version 2.0 with NBH upgrade utility (after USPL patch): unable to upgrade (image file corrupted). --> Success on a second attempt!
Extended_rom disappeared again.

Found a solution with SPB Backup which shows the same error.
1) Put phone to flight mode
2) soft reset
3) make a backup

This allows the backup to finish without errors.

I had managed to flash my Dopod M700 with this ROM, the only problem is that my Text Message cannot be opened, I can only see the summary, but when I select the message, it won't open-up like it should be. How do I fix this? Thank you


V1 has this SMS bug.
You should download V2, and install that one. Cause Tom fix the bug in V2.

folder GPSID_HTC.dll inside OEMDrivers needs to be replaced by the original folder gpsid.dll from an Orange rom B)

it seems the fw of spv m650 has been updated for A-GPS (Orange Rom preparers didn't even take care of removing the updater from their last updated rom... big waste)

@SiperX: Okay, I just installed sprite and performed a backup. It completed successfully and without freezing. It soft reset at the beginning and after the backup as is normal. I had the same warning: (Warning: File could not be included \Windows\compimeh.04.09.dat). Don't know what this means. I looked and that file is present under \windows and is 68kb.

I've still got PDAVIET v1 and haven't had any low storage warnings. There's currently 16.2mb device and 18.3mb program memory. My sprite version is 5.0.1, build 1384.

btw, the sprite user guide says:

Backup Doesn't start and device soft resets when tapping start button

This could be caused by an application that cannot be closed or terminated before the backup starts. In order to get more details about this issue, we recommend you do the following--

The Sprite version I have is V5.1.0 Build 1417 (yours: V5.0.1 build 1384) and does not offer that option (all processes are stopped automatically at the beginning of the backup operation) I would assume anyhow that in order to perform a backup the processes must be stopped.

Hi,

Found a solution with SPB Backup which shows the same error.
1) Put phone to flight mode
2) soft reset
3) make a backup

This allows the backup to finish without errors.

Hi Tom, first of all let me congratulate you for your excellent work, like others I was a bit weary of bricking my HTC as I've only got it for three weeks, but it's working like a charm (thanks for the temporary SuperCID, POF!).

Now for the quirks... I tried choosing a background pic to use in my home screen, but decided it didn't look too good so I ditched it. Suddenly my nifty black top and bottom bars vanished and left me with the "blueish" green, and I can't get the black theme back (my only option in the Today settings is the "Windows Default" theme). Anyone got a tip on how to get it back, please? :confused:

The only other one I found is more of a missing feature, but one that I can happily live without, is the link to turn wifi on from the connectivity popup (the one on the top bar, with the G letter).

Once again, congrats for your fine work, now if someone could just tip me on how to get those black bars back I'd be a happy bunny! :cool:

Hi coz83,

A) I have tried the V1 and reported the bugs to Tom.
B) Tom fixed them and issued V2.
C) Tom&POF uploaded V2
D) A bunch of people installed V2 and reported that these bugs are COMPLETELY FIXED
E) As you can read in the thread there are still 2 (minor) pending issues

As a general rule please remember that what might apply to "a bunch of people" might not apply to you/your device... do you get what I mean?

This is a very good ROM. Everything works ok, except for the touch skin dial pad. The second dial screen is now white, instead of the buttons for mute, speaker, end etc.

yep, I'm having the same problem with low memory warning, most annoying. Also, if I change the background picture on the today screen, the top and bottom bar colours revert back to standard WM6 green, and you cant change them back to black.

Suddenly, after using this ROM for a couple of days, the devices become extremely slow. I started the task manager (HandySwitcher) and realized that the services.exe process was using between 80-100% CPU all the time. Anyone know what caused this, I have not installed any new programs lately? I tried several soft resets but it didn't help.

Yup you're right imstill@g, couldn't save a word document on either the storage card or the internal memory. Not that I save allot of word documents on my device, but there clearly seems to be a serious memory bug. I hope this gets resolved.

Quick work around for the people who do have the Word doc. issue, simply open word and make a copy of an existing doc. and use the copy to create new doc. I am just going to keep one named BLANK and continue to copy it as needed. This works like a charm... you got me, but it works. Hope this helps someone, definately a small price to pay for such a GREAT Rom. Thanks again to tom_codon and pof for this ability to tinker with my device. Awesome guys in my opinion

1. Anyone can provide me with a url to download the original ringtone, especially the human voice saying "You Got Message". If anyone want to share other female human voice, I will appreciate it.

2. I would like to put the 'Lock Device' shortcut at the bottom launcher on the today screen but I can't find the full path and the program name. Anyone know?

3. Since I am using dopod m700, it doesn't have GPS, how can I remove this application inclucing the dependencies from my device.

You are right! Word documents cannot be saved! If you attempt to save any text you end up with 2 alternatives either DISCARD or CANCEL... :(

At this point it would be really great if Tom would bless us with a V.3 ... considering this bug, the other Low Storage Warning and the other minor bugs... :D

The bug is very simple on SPV M60 orange the gps 's driver is specific because orange modify this
i think kulbutor find the solution and the driver in orange rom but i don't how ca i integrate it

but unfortunately I have to say that I meant the registry entries for HTCHomeplug and not these for HTCHome as you posted it up there.

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHomeplug\...]
It has to be three or five folders named "2","3","4" or "5" with keys for changing the Homeplug to get icons for battery, rotating the display, mousemode, etc.

Quick work around for the people who do have the Word doc. issue, simply open word and make a copy of an existing doc. and use the copy to create new doc. I am just going to keep one named BLANK and continue to copy it as needed. This works like a charm... you got me, but it works. Hope this helps someone, definately a small price to pay for such a GREAT Rom. Thanks again to tom_codon and pof for this ability to tinker with my device. Awesome guys in my opinion
