HOW to Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6

i tried it all day, still windows mobile 5

Rom is 2.21.4.1 WWE

external rom is 2.21.4.101

IPL is 2.21

SPL is 2.21

i tried so many ways to upgrade, can folllowed the step by step tutorials, still can't figure it out

anyways know,s please let me know

First off, is your Wizard CIDunlocked? Not SIMunlocked.. CIDunlocked... you can NOT flash a custom ROM if your phone hasn't been unlocked.

If not... follow READ READ READ and follow EVERY SINGLE STEP HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480), and DO NOT SKIP ANY STEPS or you WILL brick your device.

how do i know if it's CID unlocked ?, i don't think it is

If you don't know if it is, then chances are it ISNT.. And you are probably dangerously close to killing ur phone.

if your phone is NOT CIDunlocked you CAN NOT upgrade it. Follow the thread I put in my previous post.. follow EVERY STEP.. READ everything... and make sure you understand what you are doing, or else you will end up with a very expensive knick knack.

Well, you can always pay 40 dollars to www.imei-check.com to unlock your phone.. you dont have to send it them, they will give you the tool to unlock it... just follow the directions.

If you don't understand the steps, then don't try to flash your phone.

Im with Keg on that one, if you dont understand it, then dont try to update. Wait for your carrier to release an official WM6 rom.. I know cingular plans on releasing a few in July

I didnt understand at first either, so I just paid the 40 bucks.. the 40 dollars was well worth it... rather pay 40 dollars then 300+ for a new phone.

research shelltool. I flashed my G4 2.250001 IPL/SPL with it when it was locked, and it worked fine. I don't remember if 2.21 is okay to use this method, but you need to check it out.

I had to unlock when formatting failed...

Check wizard upgrading, I believe there's a post there.
