I assume by Empty, you don't actually have the word 'Empty' as a value but have entered no data. If this is the case, they will do nothing. No value makes no change in the behavior of the phone.

Since adding TYPE=0, I haven't had enough time to test (and I did add everything you listed).

Yeah i found it weird to that these values were empty.
But tese are the keys i got from installing the 1.5 you provided before.

BTW Zoki if you could incorporate HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Hom\Type=4 into your RGU.
People can change the plug in to wherever they want.

Forget about what i just said i see now the error of my suggestion.
Type 4 makes it moveable but then because of screenbuild up a part on the right gets cut of.
Which doesn't happen on Type=5.
Geuss people will just need to change the order mannually then

From my research I need to:
1. install OEM rom first then upgrade to farioa mobile 6 to clear the old extend rom.
2. apply powersaving cab.
3. not to use batterystatus.

I have tried them all that but the power drain still persisted even with OEM rom from dopod and tmobile 2.26 and a earlier version before that. The OEM rom never gave me the power problem before I installed Faria mobile 6.

Next I installed two OEM roms before installing faria mobile6 tried to clear the old extended rom but still the same.
I have tried other mobile 6 version such as XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a, Core 2.0, and even back to old faria mobile 5 the power draining problem persists. Each install was proceeded by a OEM install.

I don't know what is going on. If it is the old extended rom how can I clear it for a new ROM? What should I do?

i am trying to save some battery power with battery status extended - cpu scaler between 143 and 208mhz..
but it is not the best way..

and what is disturbing: backlight can be set only 4 light modes:mad:
and i am sure you know, that the screen takes a lots of power...
(on my EXpda hp ipaq rx3715 there was ~14 backlight modes...)
are there any registry tweaks for it?

How bout the regular "drain Battery Completly, charge fullly, and drain completly again" method to check if it's not just the battery.

and add a string value with Quickdial and just enter any set of numbers.
I can remember what they were officially. And don't forget do disable an re-enable the Plug in afterwards.

Smart Dialing works beautifully,
Rolling back to your old rom should be as simple and re-flashing the old rom,
and TomTom6 works great!

Go into Messaging-->Menu-->Tools--> Options. Uncheck "Display account picker"

This will cause pOutlook to open directly to the last account you looked at before unchecking the box.

Hi guys & expecially Zoki,

Was Omap left out intentionally from ver 7.9 or am I blind? I couldn't find in the Windows directory as was the case with ver 7.6 (the ver I had previously loaded). I, therefore, reloaded 7.6 to extract the relevent files, but even after changing the file attributes with Resco Explorer I could not move or copy "omadmclient.exe" and "OMAP850_SDHC.dll", although "OmapClock.exe" could be copied. Could someone give some hints here?

Actually, I knew that and I still beg for stuff because I can't find it. It wasn't really directed at you per se (or anyone in particular). Lately, more and more newbies are finding XDA and this thread in particular and we are seeing the same questions over and over.

Which XML file? There's a bunch of 'em in this thread. A few pages back I posted 7.9's with the states added in. I just tested LA and it works fine.

OK, my buddy gave his device a hard reset and I installed the HTC Home plugin on immediately and grabbed the registry. If you want to see what a virgin install looks like, take a look at the attached .reg file.

There is NOTHING in the profile section.

However, since adding the reg changes posted earlier, I haven't had the profiles change on my randomly. If you are having the problem, feel free to delete the .reg keys under profile.

Hi all, I had my phone running with T-zone internet for couple months by just install USA_T-Mobile_WAP.CAB without doing any Proxy setting. Since I flash the T-Mobile official ROM, now my phone is not able to connect to internet without proxy setup anymore. It does show me the GPRS is connected but I can't brow to any site, I got an Error 502: Bad Request. Is it possible that my Extended ROM is messed up?

Note: This problem will be fixed if I set up proxy 216.155.165.50:8080 but by setting this I won't be able to use my Slingmedia wich before flashing T_Mobile official ROM I was working fine. Any commands appreciated.

The Profile key starts out empty and then it should get written to when first setting a profile from the tab. (in case you have the tab hidden)
It then writes nothing into the AUTo key.

But when isntalling the cab over it ads the earlier regs i posted.
Doing one more final test on clean NBD 7.9 rom now.
To be 100% sure if we need the AUTO registry settings so Zoki can integrate them.
If it works who cares wht they are for right ;)

Something about the XDa search, It's not the brightest boy in the class. I get better resullts using Google to search XDA.

BTW i used SPB and for the first time it broke my installation i could not get past the log in. Very weird as i never had issues using it on the same WM6 builds the backup came from. I recommend disabling all homescreen plug ins when using SPB backup.
But again i will retest this.

So Zoki you taking the wifi fix over to version 8.0 or will there be an intermediate version?
Also the sample E-mail account can be deleted to make the rom cleaner.
It also asks me to set up a password when no account is set up at random times.
Don't get me wrong i really think this is the best touch intergrated rom out there.
And i think most people just don't understand that the Touch slows it down just a bit compared to earlier clean WM6 roms for the wizard.
But just giving my 2 cents to make it even more near perfect if possible.

By just adding the one key (TYPE=0) and doing a soft reset, a buddy who was having the problem is no longer having the problem.

This may be the fix. If so, it's thanks to you...



For those having the problem, please add the DWORD TYPE=0 in the HTC Home plugin reg area, do a soft reset and see if that fixes it. So far, it looks like it has...

can anyone tell me what the best radio is to use with this new 7.9 version? I'm on cingular/ATT edge and have missed several videos/text messages as well as several calls I KNOW were placed...and never had that problem with the same people from the factory installed OS.

This is not bug this is unfortunatly default HTC Home behaviour.
You can however edit the registry entry of that button, at least i think so.
Because the tmail.exe file accepts -service "?????" to open specific mail types.
I did find these for the six app part in the touch part but not for the home screen.

I was wondering if that was actually "by design". However, that didn't happen at one point, around NBD 7.6 or so. Does that mean a newer version of the plugin started doing this?

On an unrelated topic, is there any WM6 ROM at all that can vibrate when the device is in standby, the sound is set to vibrate, and I get a direct push e-mail message? I have tried a number of ROMs, and all WM6 versions seem to have this annoying issue, which IIRC was also present early on in WM5 but got fixed in later releases.

If you used WM6 WAP software cab you should be able to get to Tzones without any proxy setup.

I even can stream my slingbox to my phone too. but now it won't work until I set up the proxy on my connection setting. I even can stream my slingbox to my phone too. but now it won't work until I set up the proxy on my connection setting. This proxy setup will disable the ability to use my sling media or online radio. I am need help for this problem.

T-Mobile is in the process of enforcing t-zone terms of use policies. Basically, if you intend to use your phone for things other than T-Zones, you should get one of the internet plans ($20 or $30). The T-Zones plan will always be limited and will likely get moreso over time.

Thanks for a great ROM. Fast on my Wizard and stable.

Couple of things, not sure if it's my set up (the only additions I use are SPB Insight (RSS reader) on the Today screen, and MS Voice Command 1.6).

1. When I close the camera after using it, the screen remains in landscape, so I have to pull out the keyboard, then close it, to return to portrait.

2. TouchFlow works the first time, then it stops coming up. Not a big deal, since I don't see much use for it, without the ability to actually 'touch' our way through consecutive screens. As it is, it is only a screen with six app shortcuts, which I can access through other means. Unless I am really missing something here....

P.S. It actually doesn't do anything when I swipe on the first TouchFlow screen. Up, down, sideways..., nothing. It just doesn't change screens, or anything. I am missing something, right? :-(

1). Here's what I do, I just install this and make all my musics to ringtone.. it's free and it only lasts you like 7 or 14 days.. but, before then you can convert all you want... then, save them in your SD. Then, I put them in the Windows/Ring/ director and you'll see them now.

2). I'm not sure about others, but for IE... I go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\shell and update all 3 items there with the location you want to use.. I normally just change Windows to 'Storage Card'..

can anyone tell me what the best radio is to use with this new 7.9 version? I'm on cingular/ATT edge and have missed several videos/text messages as well as several calls I KNOW were placed...and never had that problem with the same people from the factory installed OS.

I'm currently using the 2.25.11 radio that was supplied with the phone originally (only used shelltool to flash the .nbk file to the phone)

This is not bug this is unfortunatly default HTC Home behaviour.
You can however edit the registry entry of that button, at least i think so.
Because the tmail.exe file accepts -service "?????" to open specific mail types.
I did find these for the six app part in the touch part but not for the home screen.

the cube interface has registry for that. also in launcher tab. I can't find the registry for home tab. I remember this was not happening in 7.4 (3 tabs), may go back to see what the keys are.

Flashed to 7.9 from my Faria Crossbow. I love the interface and everything is running smooth, except 1 thing. My phone thinks that I am roaming all the time now, and will not automatically download my email messages. Anyone else experience this?

If you're using Outlook mail with Activesync you can go into the schedule and select the check box to "Use above settings when roaming". If you're using Pop3/IMAP you should be able to check a similar box under the Advanced Settings on the screen where you setup your Automatic Send/Receive.

Not sure why it would say you're roaming, but his might help you get your mail. :)

OK, my buddy gave his device a hard reset and I installed the HTC Home plugin on immediately and grabbed the registry. If you want to see what a virgin install looks like, take a look at the attached .reg file.

There is NOTHING in the profile section.

However, since adding the reg changes posted earlier, I haven't had the profiles change on my randomly. If you are having the problem, feel free to delete the .reg keys under profile.

Hey Zoki,

With 7.4, 7.6 and now 7.9, I have had trouble after a few days of using the ROM, with it freezing on the NBD splash screen. The ROM works like a charm for a few days, and then it will freeze up. It seems to happen when I let my battery get low, and then turn the phone off to charge it. The when I turn back on it freezes, and I have to go into the bootloader and reflash the ROM. (I always flash to a base rom from T-Mobile first). Just wanted to pass along this experience, and see if you had any ideas as to the cause. Thanks for a great ROM though I really enjoy it.

Is it possible to chance the font colors in the Progress screen?
The background is blue and the letter font black, when you are in the car with some extra day light it is very hard to read.

On my old rom I used a skin from Pauly (see attachment) and there the letter fonts are white and a black background, this way it is realy good to see in the car!

I hope some one can fix this or tell me how to do this. I allready tried some registry keys like it was possible with the E ten skin but that didn't work...

sms/mms goes direclty to SMS/MMS account
mail on Cube goes directly to Outlook E-mail >> in regkey

quick update on the AUTO profile issue:

After making the reg changes, I still had my phone switch to vibrate as if the profile was on auto.

So here's what I am testing now:

A stock ROM that gets the HTC Home installed will have NO registry entries under profile. So I deleted everything in there and soft reset my phone. I have a lot of appointments tomorrow and I will find out for sure how that works.

I tried this a cople off times, and still didn't go to vibrate modus!!!
Perhabs someone else can test this, so there is a work around for the time beeing.

Love this ROM. Ran Crossbow before but like the look and feel of this much better. In terms of ROM issues, here are all that I have seen:

Screen sound (click) is occasionally much louder than sounds are set. This usually only happens once.

Notification Error found this morning. Something about a clock that was unable to be found. I should have written the app name down. I suppose I could find the name with Mermaid in the Notification Que.

Occasionally the "G" icon will go away and the typical no network "x" will show up, however, I still have connectivity.

Clock remains in 24 hour mode, even when I change it to H:MM:SS
EDIT: This was fixed. The issue is in Regional settings. The drop down box only fits two options in it (H:MM:SS and HH:MM:SS). You have to scroll UP to see them set in lowercase which includes h:mm:ss. This will also activate AM and PM on the screen.

Apparently Myspace now has some problem with the new browser, popping up and "Application Error" page. Not a ROM issue, but definitely a reason to switch browsers.

That's it so far. Definitely sticking with this ROM though!

No way to seperate the two. we have been trying to do this since the 4.0 version of arcsoft came out. Thats how they made it

this rom is awesome...bit heavy on the processor..but oveclocking to 240 really helps that a lot. only issue id have is missing calls and mms/sms messages...but that was an issue of the radio rom...and was fixed by applying the radio registry tweaks....just wish the 'touch scrolling was smoother...

What do you use to overclock.. because I use the BatteryStatus for overclock, scaler, & display tray icons too.

then follow the Instructions.txt

Then if you want try either BSVistaTheme...
also, I added my setting that I use in there too.. BatteryStatusSetting

then probably is something you installed on it.
You can do a hardreset or you can flash againg from 3 color screen.
Search the forums or wiki for how to do that.

Hold down the camera button and then hold down power. That will get you into bootloader mode, you can then connect to PC, and run the ROM upgrade. It will not show you connected to Active Sync, but just run the upgrade anyways. It will work. I am having the same problem with my MDA. Done this many times. Hopefully this helps.

Yesterday I flashed NBD 7.9 with Shelltools. After 1 hour flashing i gave up, disconnected my device and made a soft reset to get my old system back. I wondered that NBDs version was booting! I thought that I have to do a hard reset to install a flashed rom. Nevertheless. I tested NBDs Rom and it wasnt working as proper as I wanted. I could only start TouchFLO with the left Softkey and only 1 time. When I closed it I couldnt reopen it again. Any suggestions?

The tab for profiles is now disabled and working without the stupid auto profile switch!!!

I can only get touchflo to work 1 time. If I go back to the home screen and try it again, the phone freezes. Any ideas?

I'm running it and can use touchflo/go back to home screen/reactivate touchflo as many times as I like without issue

are you overclocking? I have mine scaled at 260mhz when in use...and I did notice that at stock speeds, touchflo tends to bog down a huge amount, often to the point where it seems like it freezes up...

I just flashed 7.9 everything is working fine but after resetting the phone the clock is now in 24 hour mode and i cant get it to go back to the original way anybody know how i can fix this? Thanks

Zoki, I flashed to 7.9 a few days ago. Everything is working great! Best ROM thus far.

One question to all: does anyone's BT every once in awhile switch back to the handset? I'll be in the middle of a conversation and then silence through the headset. BT cab fix this?

Also. I was able to correct my inability to get Syncrotime to sync by changing servers to sync with. Was wondering if that could be the problem with the weather tab. I couldn't find any settings to change but I'm on the T-Mobile network which seems, according to some others, to impact streaming video . . .

which brings me to streaming media. Has anyone got this working on the T-Mobile network?

G F-in Dammit. I have alive for a few days and i miss out on the great No Hablo Espanol bug.

Let me see where was i. Yes i remembers, the reg keys seemed to work. Seemed i says. As with me, now auto profile just won't go on. And that's one of the things ilked about the peofiles tab. But is seems there's a newer version out. Well in Zoki we trust. I don't see myself playing around and reflashing this weekend to find out why and how this profile tab has this weird behaviour. I will just wait and suffer. Untill A new NBD version arives in which it works. In the mean time i will not go back to my trusted Faria Real Thing. I will stick with NBD 7.9 As i got it just as i want. And two others wanting me to flash their old Vario's. Zoki fixed the Wifi he fixed the Bluetooth. Something tells me he'll fix this to. Also nice touch you actually took out Real Player from 7.9.
Did it give you a lot of extra space, it did make the build slightly faster. Now if HTC would make a real good media player with plug in support for Divx, I could go to sleep finally.

My G4 8125 is saying that Init_Tray cannot be opened. Try reinstalling or restoring this file. Anybody have any ideas? Oh and I also got an error about some time thing.

now the question, the 6 tabs are a bit much, is there a way to remove them. i have looked in the thread and did a search and found nothing ( heck i searched tab and it came back with nothing ) so is there a way to remove some tabs in the home plug-in?

Newbies always ruin a good thing. Now I have to worry about non-English speaking newbies? Not ****ing likely... I tried to be nice and explain that this is an Engrish (yes that was on purpose) speaking forum and most of us don't understand what he's attempting to say in a subtle, and self depricating way.

Anybody coming here that's too lazy to speak or attempt to speak the forum language doesn't deserve the time of a response. I'm certainly not going to find a translation website to see what classy and sorry attempt at a humorous comment he made meant. Furthermore, if he were someone in the position of dissing, I would be looking up to him for phone knowledge and chances are, nobody on here looks up to him for anything.

I have removed all signs of the HTC Home plugin profile settings as well as put in every known reg setting. Even with the phone on Normal, the phone is still vibrating when a call comes in (and there's no vibate icon) randomly.


Personally, I would rather have this tab removed all together until it is fixed and fixed for good. The HTC Home plugin is a much needed plugin for Windows Mobile Professional but it may not be entirely ready for the prime time. Through further testing, my friend with the clean 6800 says he may have missed a call or two for the same reasons.

You don't need to worry to much about Profile tab. In v.8 it works good (I hope) and can be easy removed (in fact, all tabs can be added/removed, and their order can be changed).

Lo único, si conectas con un nokia u otro tipo de dispositivo que no sea Windows Mobile necesitas activar la transferencia de ficheros por OBEX a traves del BT. Busca en uno de los mensajes que puse un fichero que lo hacía.

Wich mobile type are you trying to connect? i've send and receive files from other mobiles with TotalCommander. Remember that you've to activate OBEX Bluetooth transfer for compatibility with Nokia and other type of mobiles without Windows Mobile. Search in this thread a package that i've uploaded that make this automaticaly.

Yes I used that cab file to install the HTC Home plugin.
But I have to say that I did a hard reset first because off the old plugin was installed in the Windows directory and iff you install this cab it will also go there.
After the hard reset it makes a new directory called HTC and all the files are copied over there, this way opening the Windows directory is much faster.

i also have the tabsetting regkey in HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCHome.

But may you better can flash the NEW ROM V8.0 !! it is out now

Is everything above 7.9 considered "too buggy". When you say NBD 7.9 takes up "a lot of memory" - do you mean active processor power, or physical ROM space, or something else? Does overclocking carefully make up the difference?

If I would like to try the v9.+ how do I get involved. I am a physician and run lots of medical database type programs from the SIM card side. I think I should be OK - hardly any video, but moderate amount of sound. With this ROM can the Wizard still stream video, and playback compressed TV recordings, for instance? How is the web browsing and the radio/wireless issue with your ROM? Forgive me if these are obvious questions.

Alright so I'm really new to posting on the forums but I've gained a lot from XDA-Dev within the last two years that I have owned my wizard. I finally got up the muster to install a custom ROM and this one was recommended to me by a good friend. With that being said the only problem I'm having is that the date and time do not update from the network. Does anyone else have this same problem?
