HTC has launched e-club on htc.com. You have to register with your phones serialnumber. Maybe Windows 6 update is coming soon on that site?

looks like we are coming a step closer to the WM6 upgrade:) You have to register with S/N, and you can only receive updates for the phone(s) that you have registered. nice:)

Hi,it works for me,you need to register only the original htc mobile, for example : I've a P3600 but the same at orange's shop ( spv m700 ) does't work for HTC registration.

Do you try this ? The serial number is located here (S/N: HTxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or S/N: SZxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)..
For my registration i tape HT xxxxxxxxxx,do you try SZ xxxxxxx too ?

Phone registration works only if it's a official HTC,not a HTC sold by a provider like Orange or vodafone etc .... You can also send a mail to HTC's webmaster and try to explain your problem.

I donīt understand the sense of the Club. Theres nothing useable to download, no new information, nothing...
Completely unnecessary to enter the Club!

I wrote HTC an Email one or two weeks ago when they release the 4350-WM6-Update, but no answer till now.
Anybody with insiderinformation?

I sent an e-mail to HTC, i got back this info:

Dear Mr xxx

Thank you for contacting HTC Europe regarding Windows Mobile 6. We are expecting these updates towards the end of this month xxx. It should not matter that your device is a Dutch version.

For further information on our Windows Mobile 6 update strategy, including which devices will receive the update, please see the following link.

http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/press/WM6_statement_v6.pdf

Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

Best regards,

Matthew

I also asked if it mattered that my device is Dutch, as you can see it does not matter, so I suppose everybody will be able to flash his device with the WM6 update (in your own language i guess, and only with unbranded phones)

Maybe there's another problem that is causing this.. But this was said in the press release of the update strategy from HTC:

''The upgrade will also be available for the award-winning HTC P3300, plus some of our operator-branded devices.'' So SOME operator branded devices will be able to update, so i gues they'll also be able able to register to the E-Club:)

I really don't think thats what they mean by that. I believe that they mean that they will be updating those operator branded devices but I imagine that they will be providing the software to the operators and then the operators will pass the update along to the customers.

Yeah, most likely the carriers are going to be releasing there own versions of WM6 just like t-mobile has already.

As for the club I think that its just a way to track all the devices.I-mate has something similiar to this already, and I guess its not that bad of an idea as you get product update information that is specific to your phone e-mailed right to you.

2 thumbs up to HTC

I think we all feel the same, but I'd really preffer HTC to have tested the herald+wm6 before I go on vacation with it ;)

I think you will find that both O2 (terra), and T-Mobile (wing) have managed to test and ship their heralds with WM6, which as I understand the base ROM is supplied to the carriers by HTC! Thats what is so annoying, surely they should prioritise and put their own customers fisrt.

How is it that carriers can get a ROM ready quicker than the actual manufacturer of the device? Rant over.

And btw - HTC only had to take one of the fantstic cooked roms here - and would have got an better ROM than they can develop.

Very true! maybe we should just contact support and tell them to screw their ROM and just give us an RUU! give us the means to flash our devices and we can cook our own ROM hehe

Look at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

The supporting countries do not include Asian countries.

I suppose if your set was bought in Asia, then the S/N would not be recognized.

That's my assumption.

Exactly my thought. I can't see any technical reason why WM6 should work on a O2 or T-Mobile branded Herald but not on the original HTC. I am 100% convinced that this is all some political bs.

They probably found 3-4 more carriers willing to retail their herald, but in exchange had to promise them that they will have WM6 eclusively for another few months.

Pardon my french, but this kind of policy really pisses me off. I can live with a 2 month delay if previously announced. But not with a delay of the delayed delay for no technical reason.

Hmm strange my phone is dissapeared from the software update page at e-Club, but not from the other d0ownloads page.. this could have 2 reasons, as mentioned:

Notes:
1. You need to register your product first to be able to download updates.
2. If your registered product is not listed, please check back next time as new patches are added regularly.

Since i already registered, i sure do hope the second option will be applicable:D:D i'm F5'ing myself to death:p

I wouldn't put up my hopes too high. Guess it is unlikely that they announce it for end of July and then release it just one day later.

i put my serial number in lower case and it worked. Check that you're writing '0' the number and not 'o' the letter. That scuppered me first time.

You can only register HTC products there. IF your model is a cingular,AT&T, dupod or any other model made by HTC for someone else to sell under their brand name then you will not be able to register it with HTC, it will tell you the serial number is not valid. Only true HTC branded models can be registered there. Sorry:(
