Looks nice and runs smooth.
In my opinion its a little too much HTC stuff in it.
Audiomanager is a great product but but you can't use it as default mp3 player from explorer.
I think i'll go back to v3. Its the best of all releases, i think.

I have flashed this ROM and I think it's great.

I had PV 4.0.0.0.3a before with the HTC Touch add-ons (theme, home plug etc.) and this really slowed down that ROM. All these add-ons are default in this ROM and the performance (speed and memory) seems to be perfect!

Just installed the rom, looks nice, but I think there are some bugs that weren't there in the 4.0.0.3a version. I can't get messenger nor windows live to work. This is a problem since I'm getting used to using messenger on my ppc.

I reverted back to the 4.0.0.3a version since it worked fine for me.

My thoughts on on this 4.0.0.0.4 .

1) Speed is much slower than 4.0.0.0.3. (File Explorer in x.3 takes 4 second to display windows directory, while x.4 takes ~8sec)

2) Some bugs in Battery status build 0216, which got display problem in Today. (occurs in both x.3 & x.4, but no problem with 0215 build)

3) Without HTC Touch interface software, the rest of the HTC applications (audio /comms/ home plugin etc) does not integrate well together. More of a comestic upgrade.
- audio manager is not default player
- home plugin take up too much resources, slow down device.

4) Battery drain seems faster. (need to confirm).

5) Prefer PHM registor editor to TRE. Also I don't use Blimkeys. Want a 'cleaner' rom than this.

I flash back to 4.0.0.0.3 after 1 hr of usage, as I prefer the faster speed and battery usage.
Good effort on this ROM thou. Looking forward to your next release.

My experience is best to re-install all application softwares from scratch instead of restore all from an old backup file. Otherwise unexpected behaviors may not be from the ROM but from compatibility issue between different versions of ROM.

As for the battery draining faster, try to lower the brightness of the backlight.
This ROM is incredibly beautifull and clean. Unfortunatly, I find it a little bit slower than 4.0.0.3. \Windows takes aprox 6 seconds to show up, vs 4 on 4.0.0.3. And I didn't even installed any program.

Why do you want that ? as soon as i leave the today screen it shows the clock in the bar, and i don't need this clock at the today screen, as the big one from the HTC home plug is showing.. :)

Great ROM so far. It raises the bar from the fantastic 4.0.0.3.
To me this is clearly the best ROM so far. AMAZING! Especially because of the cleanliness of it :)

Now, for the bugs:
- Wireless lan does not turn on all the time after I press the button in commanager
- Wireless lan unstable if using medium WIFI power settings. I must turn off the power management for it to work fine
- A bit slower than 4.0.0.3, but alot faster than 4.0.0.3+HTC_Home_Plug
- Email accounts vanishing after soft reset

Regarding WIFI, maybe the cooker can import the wifi driver from Wizard's 10.0.15342.0. It seems to be better and is working fine on Wizard.
BTW, is the PDAViet "Chef" a member of xda-developers?
Also, is 6mb page pool slower than 8mb page pool? Can I change this value to 7?

Even with that method, sometimes after a soft-reset and/or battery empty, the phone loses the email accounts.

Hi.. I am using this rom for 24 hours and everything works fine.. I am on T-Mobile Macedonia and GPRS works fine for me... Even the weather bar works fine on GPRS... The best WM6 rom for now...

Hi Guys, this rom is not newer than v.3. It is only a touch lookalike rom and maybe fatser than v.3 with the new HTC apps installed, but with the same remarks as for v3 with those apps.This is what i already wrote in the new HTC apps:

1) New dial pad skin: looks nice, but not much better than standard. I want to have bigger pictures, and with this skin the pictures are awfully small.
2) HTC home plug in: this app has nice features, but there is no option to change the color or to use a transparent color. You cannot have some other app as the top of your today apps, which I don't want. It slows down my S200.
3) HTC audio manager: not bad, but since you need again more than 1 Mb and it doesn't give me much more than mediaplayer.

4) HTC power tray. I unistalled immediately since I didn't see any advantage.

5) HTC comm manager. This is nicer than the old (blue and bad looking) comm manager.
Any other opinion is always welcomed!

Ok now that i've tested this rom, here goes my impressions about it:

- I've noticed a bug in Internet Explorer, it shuts down everytime i type an link on the adress bar.
- In comm manager i can't navigate between the options with the keyboard
- No IR option in comm manager
- In HTC home plugin i can't find how to add a new city, in my case the city is Coimbra in Portugal. I've tryed to add this line: <city name="Coimbra, PT" locationcode="EUR|PT|PO007|COIMBRA" />, in the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml located in Windows folder and the program says that can't transfer information of this city, and www.accuweather.com have this city in his database (just type EUR|PT|PO007|COIMBRA in search bar to find it).
- Less batery drain than previous versions.

I appreciate if anyone knows how to fix the mentioned bugs, thanks in advance!

i made the download Rom 4.0.0.0.4 PV and i need next step.
i have a g4 phone

* Hard reset your phone (remember to backup your pim info before this).
* After that, Tap once to get to screen calibration
* Connect to usb and activesync as "Guest"
* Install the "first Step" ROM by running ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe on your pc (as u said yours is G4, if others have G3, then use ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe).
* then install the Prophet_4.0.0.0.4 rom by running Upgrade_ROM.bat on your pc.
***(it'll take 10-20mins while doing the upgrade/ downgrade, if it seems stop, don't do anything, just wait and it'll keep going).
* After it say done, then hard reset again. All Done!

I've found a problem.
Before to flash I was on the 4.0.0.0.3 ROM.I've saved my contacts and my call list.
On the 4.0.0.0.4 if I restore the call list : I've a bug with the SIM how tell me my SIM is locked. The only method to pass this error is to downgrade to WM5 and reinstall WM6 ;)

Why 6 or 8 meg page pool suppose faster than 4meg page pool but 4...4 and 4...3 are slower than 4...3a.

Hold both camera and power buttons and poke the pin hole once until tri-color screen. Connect phone to PC with an USB cable. Go through Step 1 flashing ROM procedure.

Disconnect and wait till phone completely boot to WM5 screen calibration and go through the steps. (just in case)

Reconnect the phone again to PC until ActiveSync recognizes the phone and set it to guess connection. If not, reboot PC and try again. Still not, re-boot both PC and the phone and try again. If still not, then ask in this forum.

Do the Step 2 of flashing ROM.

Why 6 or 8 meg page pool suppose faster than 4meg page pool but 4...4 and 4...3 are slower than 4...3a.
Check again on your device! 8MB pp is faster than 4MB when loading applications, but slower when executing.

Are the .EXE files within your path or inside the same directory as UPGRADE_ROM.BAT? They should be, or it won't work...

That seems to be the problem.

If they are inside the directory, make sure you have permission to run them.

Also, it looks like you're running Windows Vista... Flash from XP because Vista is a problem when flashing.

U can Disable it by the following method:
Open startmenu Go to setting in personal Tab open today
then in today open items tab there u got it HTC home just un mark it ure done.......

A piece of advice if u really dont want tha HTC hme n stuff better shift back to 4.0.0.3 or smartv3 cuz therz nothing new in this Rom just the HTC touch look N is a bit slower.........

Ok now that i've tested this rom, here goes my impressions about it:

- In comm manager i can't navigate between the options with the keyboard and the fonts change time to time.
- No IR option in comm manager
- In HTC home plugin i can't find how to add a new city, in my case the city is Coimbra in Portugal. I've tryed to add this line: <city name="Coimbra, PT" locationcode="EUR|PT|PO007|COIMBRA" />, in the HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml located in Windows folder and the program says that can't transfer information of this city, and www.accuweather.com have this city in his database (just type EUR|PT|PO007|COIMBRA in search bar to find it).
- Less batery drain than previous versions.

I appreciate if anyone knows how to fix the mentioned bugs, thanks in advance!

I have also same changing problem. I has tried with an adaptator and with connection PDA -> Pc, but not work!

I create email account and it work perfecly. But if I reset (SR) my pda this account disappear...informations about it on the system (I found account name on the registry) but it not work!

Shut down write the registry hives back to Rom. Then you have all your E-Mail settings, Passwords, what ever stored in the registry. Then you can make a soft reset without any lost off settings.

This is a Problem with speed modded roms. they store the registry in the ram, for faster access.

My gmail account was there for like 5 months until I had to do a cold restart. It loses the mail and bluetooth pairings if your unlucky.

1. There is no 4.0.0.0.3v, there is 4.0.0.0.3 and 4.0.0.0.3a.
Different strokes for different folks. Car battery charging was problem for the 1.0 generation ROM, no sure why some people still have it. Do a soft reset while it is connected and see if the orange light comes up.

2. No one promise anybody a rose garden in here. Don't expect getting a new official OS here or for free. It is possible, so keep checking in time to time. Some good folks in here cooked some ROMs from Wizard WM6 and port them to Prophet so the junkies can have a field day. Proceed with your own risk. To avoid headache, do more reading in this forum and don't skip Wiki info. WM5 still is more stable than these cook up WM6 ROMs. But WM6 got some features that not found in WM5. If you can't stand the heat, stay away from the kitchen. Here is the place for obsess junkies who love to sacrafice their sleeping hours to get their fix. Be warn!

I`m afraid I don`t understand that idea or in my Prophet it doesn`t work in that way...

I have made clean shutdown many times (hold Power, and when windowsk asks that I`m sure - Ok). After Power On my GPRS/MMS paswords and Mail settings, WiFI and exchange passwords dissapeared as normal after soft reset...

Is there any "special" way to make it properly? Is there anybody who has the same situation (clean shutdown don`t work)?

Yes, you must do a 'reset by software ' when your prophet is connected and any kind of reset if your prophet is not connected .

Doing that , you never lost your exchange, gprs , bluetooth , etc data.

I saw from another forum that if I have 2.15 ROM, and if the CID is locked, then I would have trouble upgrading or downgrading. This is still the original ROM, a Virgin Dopod 818Pro, never been touched.. just a bit of registry edit here and there.

Is this true? How do I know if the CID is unlocked or locked?

Will I have any problem if I upgrade it to WM6 using PDAViet 40004?

Just upgraded my Prophet to 4.0.0.4. The looks are perfect. A little bit slow but i can live with it! If you overclock to 273 Mhz the situation gets a lot better anyway! Furthermore it seems stable enough and the power drain looks good to me. Just some wifi issues: Sometimes the wifi wont start unless I soft reset. No big problem. I havent found any more bugs. I will keep in touch.

I have tried all known methods of soft reset and power off and it simply doesn`t work in my Prophet, or with my rom (i know that it is thread about PV, but i have posted here becouse passwords and email accounts dissapearing is problem with all rom; I have Smart1v3; sorry for offtop).
I will post in Smart1 thread next time, becouse I read there it might be problem with registry rewriting (or saving, I don`t know) in that particular rom.

It seems like every WM6 ROM in the beginning they work fast and stable. As time goes by, it is getting slower and slower and slower and slower and slower and slower and wifi does not work until reset once, reset twice, reset three times.... Windows live does not log on, reset once, reset twice, reset three, reset, reset, rest .... still does not work.

I have a problem with wifi connection. I can detect the network but i can`t connect to it. In a moment the network switch the status to unavailable even if the Access Point is 30 cm far.
This hapened when i used the this PDAVIET Rom. With the other ones before it works fine.

Any advice cause i don`t want change this rom cause it is so nice.

Try switch on and off Wifi 2 times, I can always get the connection the 2nd time you switch it on at the Communication Manager page. Or, in other way, try to soft reset the device and then switch on twice. Works for me mostly.

My experience with this ROM is:

1. Very slow in start up. But once it is on, the subsequent performance is very fast, excellent and appears bug free. It never hangs my machine compared to previous versions.
2. The TOUCH interface is my favorite. Dialpad and particularly the Audio Manager, which select automatically my library of music better than the Windows Media Player.
3. Try using most of the battery status plug-ins. It is worth exploring and even though you did not enable it in Today's screen. It still helps.
4. I am satisfied with this ROM more than 4...3a, 4...3, and others.
5. Car charing still a problem. Unless I change to another model of car charger, or soft reset when plug in every time (which is cumbersome and has to wait for 3 minutes before full reset), I can't get my device charged in my car. So I have to revert to charging at night.

I just upgraded by Prophet last nite and did some test. I'm very happy with the result.

Here's what I tested

1. WM6 is so much faster. I can see a lot of difference
2. CommManager, no problem activating WiFi (not sure why people have problems with this)
3. I don't have any backlight issue, it turns off after 30 seconds and that's is fine with me.
4. Camera is working fine, no issue whatsoever
5. Installed Chronos 3.3 works fine
6. USB Charging is working normally
7. Battery consumption is great. I only down 10 percent since last night.
8. No issue with activesync whatsoever
9. I hate the fact that all my contacts from the Windows Messenger go to my address book, there might be a way to fix it.

In conclusion, I think this ROM is perfect. Unfortunately, I haven't tried any other ROM and I'm pretty newbie. But I'm very happy because my phone now looks cool and fast!

But if you keep the device switched on with screen on, it will only continue to drop.

I also heard people saying that if you received an SMS, the battery will stop charging again.

I'm using 4.0.0.0.2 of this rom and it's great. I've added my own programs to the Ext Rom that install whenever I do a hard reset. It's all OK, but I would also like to automatically copy some files from the Ext Rom directorty to other directories when I need to rebuild.

Can anybody help with the commands I need to put in the config file to copy files across?

I had the same problem. it was due to the directory name being too long. I solved it by moving the files to a shorter directory name like "c:\update". hope this helps

I found another strange bug in that the 'wireless' Today plugin that we all love does not report whether wifi is turned on or not, much less which SSID it is connected to. The bluetooth side works however.

I can't seem to hang up either through the phone pad, actual button or bluetooth headset. I actually have to reset the phone to hang up. Please guys, someone using WISBAR ADV... Does it work properly with this rom? Do that home plug and other stuff steal too much ram for wisbar to work normally? That dialer and the home plugin with the weather... dunno maybe this is not for me. I have weather panel working great and don't need that dialer with no contrast...
But i am having problems with 4....3 with the ram. After sfreset i have almost 23, but after a while, mainly after using camera I get only 17mb! and it doesn0t recover even with free-ram programs!

WA2 running fine with home plugin. I do like to use the normal start menu instead of casc start menu to make it speedy.

Sounds and notifications settings still do not last after a soft reset.

What looks really great is the new skin "black juelz" with the new home plugin. The WA2 skin can be found at lakeridgesoftware.com. It has black background with white Mac-ish icons.

Maybe setting EnableCache = 0 (HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS) solves the problem of the missing settings.
I will add two more bugs:
- Model name keeps showing WIZA200 even if it shows PM300 on the "device" tab
- Landscape games are rotated in the wrong direction. The keys should be on the left side, instead of the right side, after rotation. IMO, the default landscape orientation should be "right-handed" instead of "left-handed", given that most people are right-handed. Does anyone knows how to change this?

2 h de communication et 6 heure de veille
ou alors
15 heure maximum en veille avec BATTERYSTATUS, elle consomme vraiment beaucoup d'énergie.
avec le bluetooth c'est la catastrophe je perds 3 % d'énergie tout les cinq minute.
en WIFI cela est pire encore la batterie ce vide à vue d'oeil. peut etre cela vient t'il aussi de ma batterie qui est vieille [1 an ]

Have you guys reconfigured the MMS from your cellphone service provider? I had to do it manually by going to my cellphone service provider's website and follow the instruction to configure MMS and GPRS. Now they both are working fine.

I can read and I have done several hard resets but this problems returns after a few days. I think after I have synchronised with USB. My device also losts the password for synchronising with the Exchange server.

I have hard resetted my devce now 3 times. So there must be another solution.

I really dont like the htc home thing, its way to bulky and doesnt add enough.
Also the phone dailer is really not my thing. I miss the speed dial button and the contrast is bad.

But other then that its a rather bugless version and seems fast enough.

I would like it if the next one doesnt use this htc stuff anymore, and add voice command ;-)

AGREE with that HTC stuff. AudioManager is awesome though.
There are lotsa things to take out of this roms, i would like to have a totally clean version. Even without

Sounds bad - The issue didn't happen on my prophet unless I turn on BS's devicelock function.


You will need other experts to help you out.

I have recently istalled MS Voice commander 1.6 from a cab file and after that the 10 second bug disappeared. i do not know how..but I have no longer have the problem. As soon as i switch off my imate Jamin the backlight switching off as it used to be in WM5. No need to switch off twice.
I hope some body investigate further on this

Even the MS voice commander 1.6 working perfectly without any problems. No slow down or any other problems or bugs found, which are reported in some of the posts.

Its turning into a lesser version the the 4.0.0.1 I was using till this version. Doesnt really add anything and does seem to have more problems.
