I doubt we will see anything until August. I wouldn't mind some type of leak at least to hold me over.

No offense, but this has to be your first PocketPC/Smartphone :) When companies promise something they never keep their promise :p

We have to wait and see how threads like this one emerge on the different forums. We've seen the ROM months ago but we don't get the real deal any day soon I'm afraid :(

Since the 750 successor is already almost ready to go (late summer, early autumn release?), I wonder if Palm really is going to offer a WM6 Update.

A couple of weeks ago, I talked to somebody at Vodafone Germany at he told me that a WM6 is definetely planned and that this is actually the reason why an updated WM5 with enabled HSDPA has been delayed.
Yesterday I talked to another person at a special event and he actually told me that there won't be any more upgrades/updates for the 750v since the successor is already in the pipeline.

It may not be true but considering the past few months and the fact that nothing has happened so far, I start to believe that there won't be any more updates from Palm or Vodafone and that they're actually ready to sell the new Treo xxx whenever they decide to put it on the market. Sad but maybe true.

I could never believe that they would just drop this long project with the wm6 and so much test wm6 treos out there. For cingular no wm6 has been released yet as an update and far as I can remember is that the blackjack was supposted to be first to get it then I would think that's the treo 750 because they didnt waste time on the wm5 like the 8525. they also said that they won't release any other wm6 treos untill they get the update for the 750 which untill the time they bring out a new treo with wm6 for any provider I'm still going to believe its coming.

What successor are you talking about? I haven't heard anything except for that ugly gandolf device. And that's definitely not the successor to the 750.

There is going to be a Treo 800w/800p. The only thing is that it is going to be CDMA for Verizon and Sprint. They will be out in September or October.

The 800w will be 320x320, WM6, WiFi & more memory.

I don't know what this really has to do about AT&T not giving the 750 WM6 though. I really don't see how they will not give any more updates - I was told by Cingular that there will be a HSDPA update. You would think there would be a nice class action lawsuit if that didn't happen.

There is two new treos.

An Treo 500 which has been spotted as gandolf and also a Treo 800 which has yet to appear.

Treo 800 specs include WLAN and GPS.

Both have HSDPA

The guy he was probally talking to though or mistaken him with the treo 700 because there is no word on a 800 for cingular just the 500 which is a wm standard. And even if there was a 800 coming out it won't be till late 2009 to early 2010 probally. By the time it goes through sprint and verizon and then designed and tested for cingular.

I won't believe in Palm anymore...They have released the 3.5G ROM without providing any update to 750v users. I believe they will also do the same thing to us again -- release a WM6 version of 750 and leave 750v users running WM5 and 3G!

maybe this news will give us all hopes :)

My friend of friend they are working for C2O (http://www.c2ocorp.com/) its a distributor company for mobiles phone in asia.
they are supplying all Treo 750v for the whole south east asia.

this is what i heard from them:
"...very soon PALM will release WM6 for 750v this july...... PALM pretty much late on releasing their WM6 because of the PALM enhancement software that embedded to the Windows Mobile...... and they are abit busy on perfecting the upcoming Foleo..."
"..PALM want to be different than any other WM devices.. they need times to enhance the WM6 like what they did on the 750v WM5... Palm change a bit on the WM appearance, softwares and functions.. to make the device has better function than any other WM PDA's..."

when i ask them will it be radio upgrade such as 3.5G update??

"... we are sorry about the HSDPA.. until today we still haven't got any news there will be update or not... "

when i insist on asking "personaly? what do you think? HSPDA or not for 750v?

"... umm.. probably Not, because 750v are minority.."

God! hell with foleo (linux laptop with 128MB flash rom)...i got 750v treo myself and i need the upgrade so bad, and about the HSDPA comments... its a bad news! but cross our finger we don't know yet... maybe there is.... maybe not.
well.. thats all folks.. i hope this news will easy our mind to wait a bit longer.

Not to mention the fact that Palm at least announced an update to WM6 for the Treo. While Trinity users are being ignored and don't even get an update to WM6 at all! :(

Thought about moving from the Treo 750 to a Trinity, but I'm gonna wait until WM6 is on my baby and probably stick with the 750 because of the better speed and already superiour sound quality :D

Yeah, but I will have access to plenty of WM6 roms with the Trinity while I am waiting. You think the 750 has better speed then the Trinity? Why do you say that?

I am not selling my 750, I will still use it too. Like I said, I plan on using the Trinity until WM6 is released for the 750. I am bored with the Treo after 4 months.

Someone on the hofo said:

For whatever its worth...the IT section of the company I work for have some test/evaluation 750s that they got for evaluation in anticipation of a potential large scale buy to replace existing devices. They all have WM6 on them and to echo your comments, I'm told it is very stable. They also mentioned that the AT&T labs have already signed off on the WM6 rom. Maybe JN's hope for a summer surprise might come true.

i need to correct what I posted...it's actually still in the AT&T labs and I couldn't get a date of when they got it to start the certification process. The upgrade is supposed to come from AT&T. Somehwere I read that Vodafone has been telling their customers that they may not issue their own upgrade which has a lot of their customers upset.

Here is a link and it's post #16

I've seen two or three articles with WM6 running on a Treo, not to mention the page for Resco Explorer 2007 has a screenshot with the app running on a WM6-based Treo 750.

I'm actually surprised the ROM hasn't made it's way into the wild yet. If I had access to it, I'd most definintely leak the mofo!

The cingular site won't get the rom preloaded for like another month after the rom comes out and thats wm5, so wouldn't it be wm 6.0.0 or something like that.
