I didn't see this posted anywhere here in the WM 6 forum, so I thought I would as the new version, 1.5, now supports WM 6. For anyone interested, here is the link:

They made some nice changes and the new Professional Now screen is pretty cool.

The last time I used any spb software, it drained my battery real fast.

Any such problem with the new verson?

This version of Spb Mobile Shell v1.5 Final (Build 2894) compared to the last one is worth it for me as the phone ringing unable to answear freeze ups are gone. Battery is fine and i have tested all the shell's to date!

unfortunately it still is a RAM hog... of almost 1MB...

Exatcly my point Walshieau .. plus I'm more of a WAD guy anyway, so I have no need for Today plugins unless I run them on virtual pages.. which really chews up memory .. lol

We still have plenty of free memory so whats the point, i don't see anything slower using it and personally i got used to it and its very handy for me :p

I have to say I really like this app and don't mind the 1 meg it uses ( I have plenty to spare!) It's just a great productivity tool for my phone and it has a lot of improvements over version 1.0 not just the bug eradication!

Caused my trinity to lock up after being left for a while (WM5).
Went back to my v1.0 and all is ok.
Can't understand why they don't allow more photo dials on the photo dial tab. ie two rows of photos

i don't understand why there aren't choices for any app in the mobile shell today row....
OR..
why their aren't ANY 'home' app choices (there are 8 or so chosen for you.
........unless of course i'm missng something...again!

home screen u can choose your apps. press n hold those u dont want and remove, more options will appear. press and hold, choose pin for those u want 2 keep.

those that appear are those recently used. if u want an app to appear, use it, close it, then choose it and pin it.

will download new version n c how it goes.

Probably due to the lock up you didn't have enough time to play with it... they do now allow you to add another 2 dial tabs so you can have 15 photo dials instead of the old 5 in v1.0

I run the old version, its absolutely cool and work very well on my herms wm6. I must admits the old version is almost the same to the new 1.5version.
Im surprised mobile shell could not pin point the difference between both versions, Im sure it will generate some selling points ,won’t it?? Blind guys like me agree that the two versions are pretty much the same.

SPB Menu just became perfect! (nearly;)) - you can fully customise the menus now! Have fun

I did play with the program alot. V1.5 has some improvements but having the extra dial tabs makes the program more difficult to use with your finger as I already have 5 tabs. I would still prefer the one dial tab with two/three rows of photo contacts.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great program.

I like the app's look/ feel and flexibility, but I can't find anyplace to save or export custom settings. Is this possible??

Like the new "professional" Now Screen.

Somewhere there was a mention of plugins that could be inserted. Are there any available yet? didn't see them on SPBs webpage

Check out www.spbclub.com and look up spb mobile shell's forum, theres a post with a link that directs you to a file called spbmenu.cab or something like that thats a plugin for Informant and Agenda. I think theres 3 plugins in one because its just one file.

I'm rather disappointed after running MS 1.5 for just a day and a half. I love the look and feel of the program and its functionalities. I have to remove it, reluctantly, as the drain on the battery is equivalent to the older version. Further, my phone freezed when I tried to pick up incoming calls, of which one is from my boss' boss.... Painful experience.... She tot I cut her off...

How I wish that the problems can be resolved. I'll certainly be one of its many fans....

I fully agree with you there as 2 or 3 banks for the contacts would be much better than the current solution.

Hmm, I notice no difference in battery performance when I am running it. Neither have I had a dropped call but this is just my experience.

Hmm a slight improvement on v1. But I've just uninstalled it.

I have 2 freeze's in 3 days compared to none for months before I installed it. (on Black 2.5)

The new professional Now screen is nice, but it really should replace the Today screen - since we dont really need two of them imo

They also havent come up with a way to make the Hermes scrollwheel work properly in their today tabs.

B for Effort. C for execution.

IF SPB fix stability and the above I will buy it. But for now its not quite there for me.

After removing MS, battery life went back to normal. I would hit 80% by noon. Previously with MS, I'll be at 60%.

Only prob is, the phone now freeze more often then before I install MS.

I'm on LVWS with 1.43. No reset for many days of testing before installation of MS.

I had to hard reset after uninstalling Mobile Shell. It leaves some stuff that interferes with operation, or so I've read elsewhere.

Thanks Jim. I think that's the only route I can take for now. Problem is, I can only do hard reset over the weekends, having to reinstall everything back is going to take time that I couldn't afford.

How I wish SPB can help solve the problem some of us encounter here. I really like MS...

I'm still testing out the 1.5...I like it alot.

I'm running Custel v3.

I am running SPB Mobile Shell, SPB Time, SPB Phone Suite, SPB Weather and SPB Finance.

I have not had to reset since I loaded them all on 3 days ago and no crashes. I also maintain about 23mb of RAM. I use Oxios Memory Program to free up RAM also.

Good stuff, I think.
