I have got the Touch yesterday. Everythings work finde except the windows live messenger getting some troubles.

Live messenger could not show any people in the ONLINE list after first time logon. I 've reconfigured my msn account, without any problem at first time.
but... the problem happened again. Any idea?

Are you guys have a Chinese TOUCH?
I had no problem with Windows Live.

If you have an English TOUCH,
I had no problem with Windows Live either.

Now, if you have an English WM6 but loaded a Chinese OS on it, then it may or may not work (mine didn't) with Windows Live.

Windows CE just like its damn older sibling Windows, applications can run into conflicts; PAIN in the rear end.

I own a Dutch Elf, and the problem occurs here as well :-( No errors or anything, just no-one online. They can message you though, but you appear offline in their contact lists :-\

Edit:

Just installed the newer version of WLM, and now its working great :)

I've found out that deleting your password in windows Live and login in Windows Live with another account and accepting the license thingies again it works like a charm. (long sentence, lazy today)

I have a french HTC touch and the problem is the same. the only way to be really connected is to configure the connexion on each time.
If i only ask him to connecte the touch seems to be connected but is not.

hmm i installed it now cant get on it at all :| it says "they maybe a problem with connection, retry?"

but i can get on IE fine...so how can my connection be a problem?

I have installed it, tried it and it was working fine!

than I realise in my "Programs", there are "Windows Live" and "Windows Live (1)".. 2 icons.. so I went to remove program and removed Windows Live. Thats was siily.. I still have 2 icons.. is able to login but all the contacts are displayed as offline again...

Need to install again when I am home this evening.. but anyone knows how to remove one of the icons from "Programs"?

Navigate your way using explorer on your ppc to 'Windows>Start menu>Programs' and delete it from in there.
Thanks. Manage to remove the additional icons.. but I still cant get my MSN to work.. all contacts are displayed at offline... tried to reinstall, soft reset, hard reset.. nothing seemed to work :(

anyone has any suggestion?

I have an Asus A696 WM6 and I have the same problem.
The 10.6.0026.1400 build of Live Messenger works almost fine (almost because the system becomes heavier and crashes easily), but it is an old version because the version I had previously installed was the 10.6.0028.2700.
Does someone knows if has been released a new version that fix this BUG without de-upgrading Live Messenger?

I've installed the 1400 WLM version as advised restarted and got the can't log in error. I did a soft reset and it let me log in, however it still shows contacts as offline. What am I doing wrong please help!?!?!:confused:

Thanks for the .cab, I was a bit disappointed that there was no messenger in the T-Mobile Touch. The live version on the net works, but it is just not so good when really chatting (due to the refresh etc). This one works great and I'm very pleased the voice message can be sent too!!!!

Nobody knows how to do that yet. You can use a different contact manager such as the excellent PocketCM that you can find in the Development and Hacking section. MSN contacts don't show up in it.

It does work. Do a switch account and sign in again. You should see your contacts now. Don't soft reset right away, because the registry needs to be safed first (happens every few minutes). If you do this too fast no one will be online again! Safest way is just to turn off your device and turn it on again.

You can't it's a feature! Using pocketcm will hide them, but they are still there.

installed this newer version on my elf. it does have the option to not add msn online contact to contacts on the phone.

I've downloaded the update and install it on my HTC Touch.
I've checked the version of Windows Live (not the messenger) but the Live is still at the same version (10.6.0030.2100)
I don't know how to check the Messenger version.

But if you want to update it, is it just install it on your device or do you need to uninstall the previous version first?

Far as I know, there's no way to remove the WLM on Touch, isn't it?

EDIT: OK , i've got it..but the WLM is still at the same version.
Why is that?
I hope someone can help me!

Hi,

I'm running the Live Messenger that was provided in the Cab file from here. I just recently got a NEW problem. That being that I can no longer send voice clips for some reason. I ahd only tried it a few times and the first few times it worked great. Now.... nothing. Says I cant send the voice clip because the person is running a version of msn that doesnt support voice clips... which they do. And this worked fine the first few times I tried sending them ages ago and only recently have I tried again and had the same problem. No matter WHO on the list I try to send voice clips to I get the same error message. Anyone else having this problem?

I have bit diferent problem with messenger.

Every time I try to log in, it shows a pop up messege "There is a problem with server, try again later". I installed every later version of messenger that came up, on all is the same problem. I connect with wi-fi and gprs, whatever connection I use, problem is there.

Does anyone of you may know what the fluck is that??

It`s getting very annoing.

P.S. Sometimes I use Palringo, which works perfect with msn.

i cant install neither ver 1400 nor that one from 1st page (hosted on rapidshare).
in both cases i get something like "installation was unsuccessful". my WLM version is 10.6.0028.2700 and ROM v1.11.405.1B WWE (05/24/2007). any ideas?

Yes, it will work. Again, as I noted before Post #9, if you have CE-Star, you may have a problem.

Since I had so many problems with Messenger, I installed fring
I believe all my problems was caused since I installed some japanese pack (not CE-Star, though)

It's a nice piece os sw since I can chat with Skype, MSN and gTalk in one application

I use quick IM its really good IM software and works on loads of different phones. I tried a few of the free apps out there and i found allthough you have to pay for quickIM its definatley worth it. details below.. hope this helps !
