Pre-Ordering a Kaiser

Has anybody around here ever used www.superetrader.co.uk, 'cause that's who I'm thinking of placing my pre-order with...

Alternatively, has anyone got any recommendations for where to put my name down (in the UK, preferably).

They are active over at pocketGPSworld and seem legit, although given Expansys aren't claiming to have an in-stock date I'd be a little dubious about stock coming in Wednesday.

I don't really believe the availability date, they have other HTC phones with the same date given for availability so it's probably just a general day when they receive their HTC shipments or something.

The P4550 page looks a bit out of date - a couple of the specs (GPS chip, RAM) look like they're taken from old information, so I'm guessing the availability date is a little way out as well. I've been waiting since January though, so a bit longer wont hurt.

They've got quite a good score on DealTime but I'm never sure whether to trust those sorts of sites, I'm happier listening to forum opinions, so unless I see a load of negative opinion, I'll probably go with them later this week - but I think I'll use PayPal or Google Checkout for a little extra peace of mind.

It was supposed to june in Asia, then delayed til Aug, now most probably will be Sep however will want HTC to iron out the details first before we get our hands on one, don't really wish to be a guniea pig tester

I used superetraders to get my ETEN M700, they were very helpful with the order (complicated with a cc registered in one country and delivery to another country). The device arrived within the time they said and the phone had had a pre-sales check - I never got any of the problems that seemd to plague others!

I can heartily recommend them! :)

Well I placed my oredr with Superetrader and payment was taken straight out of my account because I (stupidly, it seems) used Google Checkout.

Google Checkout showed my P4550 as "Posted" but, as noted earlier in this thread, Superetrader then took the P4550 off their site.

A few e-mails later trying to figure out what was really going on, Superetrader have confirmed that the release date has slipped to "Hopefully late July or early August". Shame I had to pay for the thing way in advance, but I'm hopeless with money so at least I know it's paid for and will be on it's way asap.

Moral is avoid Google Checkout! I have no problem with Superetrader, but the whole process has been complicated by Google and their fledgling payment service, which clearly needs a bit of ironing out.

I hope you are write, but I still like the approache "Before charging your card and shipping the goods will give you a call to confirm the order, whatsoever one unit will be reserved for you" better.

Everything you say is completly understandable. BUT!!! First stock normally comes at a slightly higher price. They will put the price up, when your price wont change. That means you've got a bargain! Then you sit and wait for them to receive cheaper stock. If you try to contact them, most probably you will hear something like "According to our preorder list your unit is comming shortly :)".

I had this sort of problem, bargain price = longer wait. Unless they are getting gray machines.

Look at it this way - it's always a lottery. And there's always much bigger chance to win smaller amount. Expansys and Inkino are not offering greatest deal, but at least they're being honest.

Well, superetrader haven't taken payment from my card, and as I said, they were recommended to me. Judging by Kaiserchief's comments it was a quirk of Google Checkout that means (s)he's been charged already. But that could act in his/her favour if the price does go up, and if superetrader live up to their reputation (at least from what I've heard about them)...

Price has gone up on the superetrader website (and the release date has unsurprisingly gone back a month).

If they do try have the nerve to try and get me to pay more for it, I will politely refuse knowing full well that the law is on my side. I'm fairly sure (or at least hopeful) it won't come to that though.

that estimated date was before the FCC made it sound like it will probably be released mid september (for the US). The Htc version will come out a little before then.

why is it strang? You do know the Kaiser is going through major upgrades at the moment, I got a friend who is currently testing one with a touch flo screen just like on the elf. Seems like the Kaiser will be delayed too, I am currenly happy with mine and when I get a chance will try and get one from him to test.

Purchasing an 8925 aka "Tilt" would guarantee an easier warranty setup. If you purchase the HTC branded Kaiser it will be unlocked already, but warranty issues will be more of a hassle.

for me im holding off ordering untill I find out if ATT is going to screw the phone to much or not. if they lock down the phone to where you must use there telenav and cant load 3rd party apps without unlocking i prob will get a htc branded one. if they can keep there hands off and leave well enough alone then att one it is.

Also i have heard conflicting reports as to if the att one will have front cam or not so that is another thing im waiting on.
