TOOLS USED Below

extract the ZIP and place the NBH in the folder
then run
> dumpKAISER.bat RUU_Signed.NBH
(files will be stored in the OUTPUTS Folder)

the tools are from this forum. all you had to do is remove a few bytes every so often in the entire OS.nb before you dump the IMGFS (as the locations changed in the Kaiser OS)

well, if you cannot dissasemble the coredll (kernel) you wont know what the CE kernel version is :)

unless u port it and flash a ROM

im in limbo at the moment re: my next device.... leaning towards an IMate Ultimate 7150 (the specs blow HTC away). Although no GPS in the 7150, the GPS in the Kaiser is not anything to brag about. My Globasat BT359 blows any GPS integrated mobile anyways.

ive been looking at getting a kaiser or ultimate 9150, however ive just been told that imate no longer use htc as a supplier hence 9150 got cancelled so it looks like im leaning towards the kaiser!! any others good 1's? at the moment?

Still got the "old" version but with new build number :)
But that is because I didn't hex-edit the XIP files, maybe something for later.

How did you get it out? Modified tools? Everything I've tried so far has given me a blank.

I'm also interested in knowing how to dump Kaiser's OS.nb without actually having a Kaiser to flash it and dump from device. The usual mamaich / tadzio imgfs tools don't work with kaiser's OS.nb, however I've been playing with hex editor and managed to dump some, but not all files.

I'm trying to locate the images etc for the phone skin, but I can't find them in the files you've pulled out.
They are in the OEM folder, but this is the Cingular's (AT&T) ROM, I guess what you want is the new kaiser dialer, home plugin, comm manager, etc... that is on HTC's 1.25.405.0 Test ROM.

I noticed the AT&T logo when I was going through the files, wasn't sure if that was what was knocking me off the scent - thanks for pointing it out.

So, we [a] need to get our grubby mitts on a test ROM, and [b] need to get some tools to work with it?

Is the HTC test ROM out in the wild? (I ask because I want to get my mitts on those files, but it's obviously going to take time to work out the format of the new ROM.) I'm assuming they're being split correctly to the OS.nb stage, and they've just tweaked the format again.

THX for the new tool! I think there's still something extraordinary on Kaiser, use the Her.exe with blocksize 0x800, imgfs can extract correctly, but XIP lose the filesys.exe, and the coredll.dll cant be disassemble
But use it on the Trinity's newer 1437, it works great! the newer coredll.dll:

Finally I found there's something mysterious in Kaiser's XIP, can't port from it!
However, the trinity's new ROM all runs OK, I've ported it to my Universal successful

I have the same problem to, in my opinion the coredll.dll doesn't dump right, so when you port it to the new device, it won't work.
Tried to disassemble it with ida-pro, and that doesn't work like the older coredll.dll, soI guess it's corrupted.
The coredll.dll from 5.2.1413 doesn't work with this os-version either, to much differences and the OS refuses to start.

Thanks for the tip about the trinity, I'll try to port the XIP from it, and see if this will do the trick.

I just got the latest kiser ROM from a freind of mine; I tried to use the tool to dump it but when I reach the "dumprom.exe -d XIP -x -5 xip.bin" it says that it was unable to determine loading offset for xip.bin.

I also found that the new ROM has more goodies in it, like the WorldCard app and other newer versions than what u posted earlier. I am still pretty new to cooking ROMs but I would love to get this working and test it.

Does anyone know if the Kaiser comes with built in VOIP client? I am debating between the Nokia E90, but would rather get the Kaiser, but it must have VOIP client. I know there are several applications for VOIP Windows Mobile, but most don't work and when they do they only work with the phone's speaker phone which is very annoying. Nokia Symbian has built in VOIP client which works wonderful (internal speaker, speaker phone and bluetooth) I really want the kaiser and I hope it does have the voip client?

This is a stupid question from an admitted noob, with the OEM dump I see only one cab file, can use the process outlined in the wiki to create my own cabs from the OEM dump? Is someone already working on this? I'm specifically looking to create a cab for the bcr app

ok i have gotten as far as rebuilding the 03_OS.nb with ImgfsToNb but i get an error saying "MSFLSH50 Header Not Found" err we are so damn close I know it!! Pof help us out a little here.
