I have a treo 750 unlocked. (originally cingular but I'm with Tmobile - not sure if that matters) Tmobile tech guy recommended opera mini when I told him i was having trouble browsing some sites...

If I understand correctly i need a few things in order to download it.

I tried getting it right off my phones browser and I see the file in my folder but when I click it the message says (" there is no application associated with operaminibrowser- Run the application first then open this file from within the application)

I would love to do that but don't see any other option to run the application... maybe i'm not looking in the right place so let me know

assuming I have to do some extra steps I see that I might need the following

Risidoro_Intent_MIDlet_Manager_v11.zip (when I download and extract this the directions say to extract the .cab file but there are lots of files in there and when I open them all I get is a scrambled text file

I just want to have a full browser and be able to get google or yahoo maps for directions.

someone please help

thanks

Have you tried to download it off your PC and put the cab file on your device via activesync?

I recommend this too. Also, I heard it works well if you download IBM's java emulator with it. I like full Opera more then mini and it is free as it is a Beta right now (8.65).

yes I downloaded the files below but no applications would run... perhaps this is where that midlet manager comes in but that won't run anything either.

1. Select preferred language for Opera Mini:
2. Transfer these files to your phone, and install them according to your phone's installation procedure:
opera-mini-advanced.jad
opera-mini-advanced.jar

actually I re-read your question and no I didn't transfer it to my device then try to run it so I'll do that now.

thanks
I'll let you know if it works

That is, just click opera-mini-advanced.jar from inside File Explorer - you won't even need the JAD file.
