Hi there,

Does anybody know how to change the date format on the HTC Home Screen to long format instead of the defaulted short format in order to get the name of the day as well as the date.

Hi
I too wanted this as I always unsure what day it is
Found this on another thread, requires registry edit:

This change will show date on today screen in format
Tuesday, December 25, 2007

HKLM\nls\overrides
- Create a new String named "SLDte"
- With value "dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy"
(all without quotation marks)

Hard reset after to activate.

Hope this helps you ;)

Will this work on the Vogue for the "HTC Home" item on the today screen? Also, how do I change the big clock from 12 hour format to 24 hour format?

Ok but this overides the short date form used everywhere, not just the home plugin which is a rather ineloquant solution. Can't we just tell the HTC Home plugin to use the long date format? does anyone know a reg fix for that? That would really be appreaciated.

So, how was it solved?
I guess it was solved, since i.e. Dutty's ROMs have semi-long date on HTC Home yet they keep original short date format (at least until user starts to fiddle with regional settings).
I'm asking for this fix too because I *hate* this stupid (IMO) american short date format with month first/date second, I want normal/common/standard YY-MM-DD in short date, and DDDD, MMMM D, YYYY for long date in my regional settings (which I always set in registry) PLUS I want the same as Dutty's ROMs have on HTC Home: full name of the day + date. Some of his later ROMs have it that way (except they keep "american" short date format) so it is possible :D
TIA!

(yes I have searched the threads and I googled it too)
BTW - although its my 1st post here I'm a long time forum reader almost since begining, and - thanks to all of yous here - I can even cook my own ROM if needed to have it fixed ;)
