Really impresive the same as 4.0.0.0.4 but so far so quick.
Old CommManager but we can stop IR now for best battery performance.
So if you like 4.0.0.0.4 but for you it's so slow, update to 4.0.0.0.4S :D

That's odd. My comm manager appears within a tenth of a second! I do use the 'wireless' today item to launch it though. You might want to try that instead of the button 4.

You can´t have it all. If you want a fast OS you need a bigger pagingpool. If you want more memory you need to have a slower OS due to the minor pagingpool. That´s how things work, you just can´t have both!

In the ExtRom folder of the ROM there is the cusTSK.tsk is this the htctouch interface?
Cause if I can kill that thing and this ROM has normal comm manager again I think I go for it ;-)

Anyone tried to install one of the dialer skins from a skin pack like those of SPB, see if that brings back my speeddial button ;-)

upgrading to 04s cause the calculator didn't work well with 04. (I've tried some other calculators, but all of them went wrong as well.)

By the way, I wonder whether my back-up file can be restored after the new 04s has been installed....Thx for your answer.

This is probably the one to get. I'm not sure why the interest in a low paging pool to increase the available memory. PDA memory exists only so that you can keep open many applications. Memory doesn't speed up operations as it does with a desktop PC with hard drive and a page/swap file.

Besides, most, if not all here use some sort of task management to keep limited the number of open apps.

my experience so far: it is nice and responsive but I think I may miss those few extra MB...
just had a "critically low" memory error, I was trying to sync up about 40 email, and had no other program running...
however I was using Windows Live to do it, maybe that was the cause..

Hi,
I've installed that ROM, and when I've tried to install Opera Mini (both, 3.1 and beta 4), Midlet Manager (in /windows) says:
"The file 'jmm' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"

Any Ideas? Anybody who's Midlet Manager is working can send it to me?

Maybe they can add those apps in the ExtRom, so when you dont want them you can just... remove them :D, and if you do, you leave them.

Someone pointed out to me today that pressing the down button opens speed dial also... so the dailerpad is now just cool looking, not useless anymore ;-).. i know, i just wasnt used to that button...

i upgraded to 4.0.0.0.4sse and it is a very fast rom. it has not "touch" apps and i guess it has 12mb paging pool as there are just 22mb free ram. so far i like it more than the "touch crippled" 4.0.0.0.4 rom.

It is still in the list, that's right. Anyway you cannot connect to the partner device again. You have to delete the old entry and establish the partnership again (including re-entering your code on both devices..). :mad:

- In the Connection panel I don't want "Network Wizard" (like as 4.0.0.0.4). If I modify the key in the registry I don't have any change...

after you create your email account you must soft reset your phone properly i.e. switch your phone off and back on to appendit to the memory

also i downloaded a theme for wm6 and change it, and realized that i cant change back to the default theme. the background will change, but the menubar stays green (the colour of my downloaded theme) and does not change black. is there any get around for this?

PV_Shooter: No unfortunally for you, i'm not a gal. I just noticed that many ppl likes the htc touch look, and others dont. I think the best approach is to try to make this an option. Like 2 differents editions of the rom, one with htc touch look, and another with any of this files, or better put those customizations in extrom (if possible). A just think that a mix of both isnt correct. But thanks for the reply. I just asked because i dont know how to customize the roms.

Well from what i have been reading nad also my own opinion, the HTC touch look is great, but the HTC Home today plugin is crap and slow.
I'd love it to keep the dialer and com manager but loose the HTC home so i can use SPB mobileshell which to me is much better...

My 2 cents worth on the 4.0.0.0.4s....

a) Much faster than 4.0.0.0.4

b) Program memory available even after reset is only 16MB.

c) Battery drainage also much faster.... 50% in 6 hrs

d) Overall the only difference between the 2vers. was speed... but for me in the cost benefit analysis I prefer 4.0.0.0.4.

Is there a bug in the bluetooth draining the battery?, as I ahve an iTech R35, trying to play music, most of the time it starts playing then I can't hear anything and less than 5 mins the battery of the headsets is flat, don't have this problem with a mobile phone.

But there is problem with bluetooth ( Handsfree ). They pairing without any problem, however most of time handsfree muted itself.

After flashing any WM6 ROM (if I am not mistaken) you always have to re-configure MMS.
At least it always happened with me.

I repeated the test hoping that the Cache might help, but it turned out that both Resco and conventional File Explorer performed at 13 seconds now. I didn't touch any registry parameter since I've installed .4s_pv, EXCEPT that I have put on CE-Star Version 28 (a Chinese language program), which I believed have slowed down the whole system quite a lot afterwards.

I don't find other Chinese overlay that works with Windows Live. In fact, my CE-Star is modified one from padfans.com.

I installed CE-Star in a Touch, it is not that slow in that machine. I wonder what is in my 818Pro really slows everything down.

I had installed Fantastice b4, it was very fast but it is not stable for my machine even I have no other applications installed. I was very happy with it until it kept hanging my machine without a clue so I went back to .....4SSE

I hope some expert can enlighten us on how to detect a slow program in a machine.

My WM5 shows /windows in 2-3 seconds. My PV 4.0.0.4 took something like 6-7 seconds to show it.

Exactly, that's what I did with my stop watch for twice.

But that is history, now I am using 4.0.0.0.5 and it clocked at 5 seconds now! with all the CE-star, spb mobile shell, spb phone suite running.
