OK i have searched al lot in this forum ,universal and wizard and the buzz forum but cant seem to find any solution:confused: or as i should say there is no proper thread for it.So all devs please contribute..
First of all what is this mtty.exe and where to get it?
Secondly does this trick work with hard spl v7 or do i need to downgrade if yes then how:confused:
Plus all the commands required to put in and that with every detail possible:p
So people help me do it and i will make a proper guide and will stick it into the wiki.

Theres a few people (including myself) who know how to do it for the Hermes, however i feel the only purpose this has is to deceive a possible buyer of a 2nd hand Hermes, therefor im out for this guide. Sorry.

What other reason would somebody wish to reset the calls timers?

What other reason would somebody wish to reset the calls timers?
To control other's calls, for example.

There is a step by step guide:
Important: you need a bootloader capable to run "rtask b" command so I suggest to use "1.01 - Olipro MFG" with Des SSPL (so it's not needed to flash it). The newest bootloaders can't be used to perform the reset.

1) put device in bootloader mode
2) disable activesync usb connections
3) connect to bootloader using mtty.exe
4) when you see "USB>" prompt type this (DO NOT COPY-PASTE):
rtask b
0 <--- wait until you see a "0" here
ate1 <--- enable local echo
atv1 <--- verbose output for return values
at@talk?1 <--- get outgoing call time
at@talk?0 <--- get incoming call time
at@talk=<value1>,<value2> <--- set incoming and outgoing call

Example: at@talk=270F,270F reset both counters

These instructions comes originally from pof (a lot of time ago) and are completely tested.

I'm a bit confused, Can someone please clarify this part----

atv1 <--- verbose output for return values

I'm assuming you just type RTASK B? Then the rest is automatic? or do we type the rest as well like ENABLE LOCAL ECHO when ate1 is displayed? Oh and is it at@talk=27(zero)F or at@talk27of to resest?

Thanks for any more detailed info guys... Ah and by the way I'm going to use this because I bought my 8525 used and abused so I just want to see my call time and how long I use it for in the call duration. ( ahahah, guess I just want to feel like I'm using a phone with less call time)

I know in my Wm6 hermes, i can reset "Recent Cellular calls" with a onscreen button and "recent Internet calls" means doesn't matter if was inbound or outbound,
just is helpful to help you keep track of how many minutes you've used.
The LIFE timer is not resettable unless you hack it. whcih i agree would be deceptive and possibly illegal in some countries

No offense to anyone but I don't see why resetting call timers is a moral dilemma?!?!

Resetting call timers are easily done on Nokia and Motorola phones through the straight forward Phone settings menu...

Here are a couple of examples...

http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm10083.htm

Am I missing something???

By the way... Thanks for starting this post Max414, I was always curious how to reset call timers... I purchased my phone 2nd hand and was curious how to reset the timers.... Didn't understand why HTC made it difficult to reset the timers....

Hey max414,

Could you hyperlink the tools/software needed to reset the timers in your first post so people don't have to search for the tools?

I know people can just google for the tools but since the intent of this post is to be a guide, the links to the software would be very helpful :)
