ive asked this on another thread but didnt get any answers. has anybody else that used imei-check been asked to send identification (e.g. picture of passport or driving license) to verify their paypal account? I did this because a lot of ppl on this site recommended the site so i thought it would be alright. The more I think about it now though the more uncomfortable it makes me feel. Has anybody else submitted their id? What are your opinions on this?

thats is cool man. i sent them my id long time ago (8 months) and nothing has happened yet so i guess u should be fine.

I have locked TILT if anyone send me the code from imei-check then I can confirm it.

If you get one, remember to run the program from the website first!

I have just used www.imei-check.co.uk to unlock my MDA Vario 3 and it has worked fine. Code was instant, I got an email saying that I would need to provide photo ID but I refused and I was still able to log on and get the unlock code.

I wasn't really prepared to provide anything like that, being a verified paypal member should be enough.

Agree no way that I do that, think it is about the strugle with POF to scary people to share there solution (Imei) with XDA. It is against the rules of Paypal to.

just a little side note here.. for those who are trying to get the AT&T Tilt unlocked the only way right now is with a code from AT&T.. Sometimes you can call the hotline and get the code right away for free, but most of the time they make you jump though hoops.

If anyone needs assistance, I can help you get the code. But Unfortunately I can't do it for free..

All you need to do is to send me your IMEI + Paypal Payment of $25

I'm not AT&T user and bought this set from ebay, I just called att wireless international number and tell the nice repr. every things he just asked me imei and gave me code....

Nice att service lov' it..

Tried that and the 'nice' lady said she would have a word with her supervisor. Computer said no.

As a complete mobile noob I was rather surprised by this sites confusion of terms. After I 'unlocked' my phone using HardSPL and then flashing with the HTC rom I thought I had cracked it. Nasty surprise finding it was still 'locked'. Guess everyone drops the 'sim' or 'network' from this type of 'locked'

Did anyone try the sponsored link on this page which is only £1.50 per minute?

how come there's sites on the web out there that charge different rates depending on what provider your HTC KAISER / TYTN II comes from? ive seen the general 28 Euro offer from imei-check.co.uk and theres also these 2 sites

They are reselling unlockcodes which they buy from mobile providers

If your mobile provider isn't listed then forget it.

You could ask imei-check by email, I'm curious if they can "unlock" ur phone ...

Got an answer from an ebay supplier and my phone is now unlocked - me so happy . Search for 'subsidyunlock'. Costs £15

Word of warning to all noobs like me. Dont try codes in your phone unless you are fairly sure they are the correct one. If you try and fail 5 times you will have a brick which can only be used on its original branded network.

Called the att wireless international service from UK and got my tilt unlocked. :D :D
Tried 3 times. The first lady wanted my att wireless number. where the heck do i get that from? somehow, i got a number from a friend in the states using att. Then was the second lady, i just told her the truth i got it from ebay and she asked me to fax the imei number and the paypal receipt.
Didn't get any response in 2 hours, so i called the 3rd time. A guy answered and not only wanted the att phone number but also a att wirless reference number. :mad: :mad: then i totally gave up.
3 hrs later, the lady rang me and told me the unlock code. ohooooo!! For various reasons, i can't tell her name here but she may be French.

They resell codes from particular providers, so it can happen they have no resell contract with your provider and it can also happen that your phone is too new and they have to wait up to 3 months until they get the latest codes.

i know there are countless people that have baught the at&t tilt from at&t, called them and got it unlocked.. but I just baught my phone off ebay, i currently use at&t until the end of the month and then i want to go with t-mobile.

so my question is, while im still with at&t. can i call them with my ebay baught tilt and try and get them to unlock it, not telling them im about to switch?

just got mine unlocked today whent to a local orange shop and told the guy at the counter that i wanted my simlock removed and he unlocked it right away no extra costs or such...i told the guy that i wanted to do a update on my phone and he asked wich one i told him that i would like to update when htc brings out wm6.1 so i can use the htc rom and not the branded fix (if there is gonna be one of orange)
as i said he unlocked it right away so everyone with an orange htc just ask polite in the store and your phone will be unlocked for free

this place.. http://www.imei-check.co.uk/ you have to verify that your actually the owner of the paypal account but it's not hard and seemed to work fine..

a little background info, i have the orange TYTN II and had sim locked it by accident thus had to unlock it somehow.

They just resell codes which they buy from mobile providers. There is no unlocker software (yet).

i have TyTN II from polish Orange, and i have problems with CID unlock, i read and test more stuff from xda forum and nothing, any one can help with unlock CID and SIM unlock 4 free ? or only imei check and paypal ? thx in advance

CID unlock works great with one comment - where system asks you to unplug and replug the USB cable don't do that BEFORE Active Sync loses connection with Kaiser. Then unplug and replug...

It doesn't mean that this solves all the problems. After flashing the original ROM my Kaiser still does not accept SIMs from other netowrks as it did before, but in addition it doesn't see the Orange SIM at all! 'Sim card missing'.
I think I'll talk to Orange about that soon.

I have no problem waiting for someone to make a free version of this unlocker. I'm sure the same was said about lokiwiz when it first was released. We just need to wait for it to come out.

Why not release it to the community instead of trying to make personal profit.

It just bugs me to no end to see people with beneficial knowledge keep it to themselves for personal gain.

Call it what you will, that's just my two cents.

I have a locked Kaiser, here in France, but i have to wait for 6 months, and after, my provider will give me FOR FREE this f*%#ing code.

I want to know where can I get one of those list or generators. I cant see myself dishing $200 on unlocking tilts. Bought them at gifts, but that's about one-fifth of the price I bought them for. Not to be a cheepo but if I'm spending that much I might as well get the best.

Why don't you guys just call whoever your service provider is and ask for an unlock code? I called AT&T and told them that I am traveling to Europe for the summer and I wanted to unlock my phone. Five minutes later and it was done. Quit paying this guy and just take a few minutes to make a phone call to see if they'll give you one.

Well.... luckily there are free solutions to a paid solution now. Sometimes you aren't out of your contract and most of the time, you have had to been a customer with your provider for more than 6 months, maybe more, maybe less.... it seems to be random whenever you call.
