I think there will be countless people here want to try your WM6 rom, provided that we know what we are going to do. Without any info about such "rom", it is no different than send our Hermes straight to fireplace.

ROFL, yes a bit strange, but considering the ROMs that have been posted lately from so-called known sources, I guess it comes to the same.

Hmm..
All I can say is, that the file contains no virus or other shit.
You can open it with an cookingtool, and it semms that it is an WM6 ROM.
But is it realy a Hermes ROM ?
Hope that the boys with more brain than me can make it clear. :D

I can only confirm that it is a legitimate WWE Hermes WM6 build. I don't have any build numbers to give at the moment.

ey man, thanks for sharing this...

i have taking a look at the ROM, and in this is the PreConfig.txt in \Windows

LOCK:Enabled
EXEC:\Windows\cusTSK.exe \Windows\HTC_Default.tsk
EXEC:\Windows\SetHSDPA.exe /Enable
XML: \Windows\MP_MMS3.5_HTC_WWE_Hermes_070424.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_disconnectButtonLong.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_Enable_HSDPA.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_Enable_IdleModeStatusIcon.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_EONS.xml
XML: \Windows\P_SMS_UnicodeEnable.sa.xml
XML: \Windows\PP_PhoneSetting.xml
Hide:Enabled
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\autorun.exe
LOCK: Disabled
RST: Reset

As you can see, seems there are something in Extended that is not in the ROMs you have shared. Can you extract the ExtendedROM and post here too, like the OS...

Thanks.

I have installed the following Software:

- Imaginet Arabizer
- HTC Touch (Home Plugin,Audio Manager and Today plugin, Comm Manager and Dial Pad)
- TouchFlo Alfa

what means "can't be dumped"?

Yes, 3.54 seems newer than 3.35, but until we get the 3.54 from someone who can dump from the device, we can play with this one also.

3.XX version numbers are really not a great measure to go buy in this instance as the Build and kernel are both outdated compared to what the releases here have as well as the official release (Build 17745, kernel 5.2.1238)

Unzip the file, delete all the files exept .nbh file, place the RUUWrapper you downloaded from xda developers in the same directory with .nbh file and run the RUUWrapper.exe

You know the rest ;)

Help me out here. What's the best WM6 rom for the 8525? Specifically I have and need the following-

1. Mine is Cingular branded of course.
2. I need stable netowrk coverage of course.
3. I must have perfectly working USB modem.
4. Stable update for Windows Media Player.
5. Support for the newer 4gb+ microsd cards.
6. Perfect camera support.
7. Windows/Microsoft Live Search support.
8. Greater stereo bluetooth quality?

If there's a WM6 update out there with that covered, please let me know. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

This ROM has been the most stable for me its also very fast, have had no lockups until now.. YouTube videos and .3gp streaming work w/out any modifications.. After I installed the cingular applications (since I like to listen to the XM radio while at work) Realplayer took over the .3gp streams and was giving me the error msg that it couldnt play the file so I just did an edit to the registry under HKC_root\rtsp\shell\open\command i noticed it said realplayer.exe %1 and changed it to StreamingPlayer.exe %1 and everything works great. There are no issues with WLMessenger. I also installed a lil file called tman as a task manager. It has been more stable than any other ROM I have tried which is pretty much every ROM in the Hermes section.

Does MS Voice Command work the way it should (announcing incoming calls and working through bluetooth)?

Also I experience a lot of bluetooth disconnects with most of the cooked ROMs (I've tried all but Custel's). Is this bluetooth stack more stable?

Not exactly. The current WM6 ROM floating around are all based on evaluation versions, and for sure not as stable as you would expect from a RTM version. That's the reason why everybody here tries to find out what this new ROM is about. ;) It's just a matter of days that the first RTM versions will appear, and everybody wants to be the first to have them.

Also, does WM6 have youtube support (that new codec or whatever it is, like with the Iphone)?

Ascalon how about you try SEARCHING the Hermes Mobile 6 forum instead of asking us to spoon feed you... you have to TRY some roms out and see what fits for you.

Windows mobile 6 supports streaming media yes.. such as you tube.. all you do is go to your browser, type in www.m.youtube.com .. SAME thing the iPhone uses..

Thought i'd try this rom out due to wifi connection problems experienced with wm6 cooked roms using wpa-psk encryption (wm5 roms were much better at connecting).

wifi worked, rom was very fast, but experienced one or two "sleep of death's" where phone was on but wouldn't wake up when power button pressed - these required a soft boot.

now back on sleuths developer rom which has been v stable in my experience and contains more of the stuff i like such as adobe le etc

I agree, I also dont get wtf these people mean about this is so stable compared to the cooked ROM's, hell, I reboot my device just for fun nowdays..and I'm using it hardcore 24/7..half my keys are no longer legible, and I'm running the cooked ROM in my siggy.

I can only wonder how easy it would have been to get the same response, by cooking up one if the already existing ROM's, with the HTC green crap, and calling it OEM long ago.

princeasi, I know you know better than to post a question like that. I've already stated that it is not fake and people have already installed it on their devices and posted specs and their thoughts on it.

Just skip to the first page and start reading. ;)

It always amazes me just how many people (pointing no fingers and mentioning no names ;) ) judge a ROM by the colour of the included theme :)

So for all those that like the green HTC one included in this ROM, but want it elsewhere, here ya go :)

looks like they are talking about fall '07 for the wm6 HTC upgrade for the Hermes

"Look for another upgrade for the AT&T 8525. In Fall 2007, HTC will offer a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade, free to all existing customers."

This is where I lack the understanding. Will HTC ever release just a generic ROM not branded for a carrier? I'm on a Super CID/SIMunlocked 8525 running on a T-mobile USA SIM. I live with the branding and other usless crap, but would like to do away with all of that. Hoping this ROM would be it but judging by the comments of "sleepy hermes", I don't think I want to go this route.

Now if I can just get that 12in1 SIM figured out....

It's not only about the today theme. Most of today's cooked ROMS come with new black dial pad, comm manager etc. In case you like the black themes, no problem, if you liked the green ones this ROM was great. Of course speed and stability are more important, it's just the total picture.

Leaf Wireless are the distributors for HTC in South Africa. The are usually very good with the release of ROM's direct from HTC without any Carrier gumf added.
We have been told that a release will be made available at the end of July 2007.
One of us in SA usually uploads the releases to the forum as soon as the ROM's released.
We have been the only official HTC ROM posters to date.
Just hang on, but don't expect it to be any better than the WM6 ROM's from some of our cooks.

Download and install the green HTC dialer, and use it along with the above green theme, and any ROM can look just like this one, this comm manager on this release is just blue default MS it appears...from the earlier posted screenshots, its likely in the extended rom..which I dont think was posted, but the green one can be found on the forums also, or just dl one of the old HTC roms/ or ext rom, and take it apart, and retrieve the needed stuff that way, and presto..you have a ROM totally HTC Green.

After doing a bit of that thing called "searching" I found there is a green media player skin also that is supposed to match the HTC green, though I havent seen a screen shot of it.
