Bluetooth : Problem identified but not solved yet

I've identifyed something about bluetooth trouble

At start up, the process SAPSettings is launched.

If i kill that process, BT can be used normally, but I have no idea about what to do in order that stupid process to be launched automatically.

The file (in windows directory) can't be deleted, and i havn't found it it register.

Has anyone an idea ??

oh, this is getting annoying. The BT on/off is unpredictable. I got it working fine whole day yesterday, on-off-on-off throughout the day, today is back having problem. I moved out the btdwake and btIO from the StartUp folder, and it seems this helps. I do not longer have the BT icon in the system tray, but I can switch BT on and off from the Comm manager.

But now.. my Wifi does not longer can be switch on/off. Oh...
I moved out Wifiinit from the start up folder, it also does not help.

Anybody has a good idea, please let me know.

I have been playing with this ROM since it was released. This is a fantastic ROM. Thank you. With the exception of WiFi and BT, everything works excellent.

I tried the registry changes to fix the WiFi and BT issue, but they do nothing for me. At times I will have both BT and WiFi working fine after startup. Other times one or the other will work. If we can manage to fix this little issue, we all have ourselves a brilliant ROM. Thanks once again for this fantastic release.

I've been using this ROM for 3 days now... I must say, it is AWESOME! I upgraded from PdaViet 04 ROM to see what touchflo is about.

touchflo = works perfectly. A little slow on 1st startup
BT = no prob for me.
Wifi = does not switch on from comm manager. I read there's a reg edit to solve this.

Will test for a few more days before I try the PDAviet 05 cross ROM.

Are they by default in wm6, or some were left out in this ROM?
And can i add now Macedonian regional setings?

Yes, this ROM has touchflo. If you read the previous threads, you'll discover that many people don't understand how to use this application correctly. (Me too - but I learnt from this thread).

You activate touchflo the 1st time, you get the 3D cube. After you exit and try to activate it again, it appears to do nothing until you slide your finger across the screen.

Cool App? YES!
Useful? Up to your personal preference...

For me, I prefer 1 tap to launch my apps. So I use traylaunch and HTC Home or other today plugins launcher.

For those who don't like to see the 2 Thai KB, you can easily hide it from your SIP menu.

search for the Thai-G Lite KB in registry editor (easy way). It should be in HKCR/CLSID/{068xxxxxxx}

Change the IsSIPInputMethod default from 1 to 0.

But still, thanx to this ROM, we get a taste of how it feels.

disagreed, sure the cube is all eye candy and nothing more.
But the scrolling inside contacts and the browser is just all that!
I also really use the cube as extended quick launch and speed dial, so together I can really in the car easely access most of my apps and info.

Really do miss the voice commander though ;-)



Side note:
I installed the 5 tab home plugin that can be found in the download link from another rom, and someone I only ended up with 4 tabs, but the ringer profile switch is handy, it does give nice direct access to going to vibrate mode etc.

I have two small issues with this version:

1. How do I turn of IR?
I don't manage to find the "off switch" any more, and it's kind of annoying that laptops keeps finding my phone every time i put it on someones desk...

2. How do i keep TouchFlo "always on"?
Sorry for my ignorance on this question, but I've look through this thread and haven't seen a good answer.
As it is now; once I get back to my Today screen (where I usually have my phone), I need to start the TouchFlo every time in order to do the left-right move to get the cube visible. I've now mapped it to my comm-button, but I think this is one click "too much"... :)

Don't know about the keyboard but this cab takes care of Dutch word suggestion and completition.

I installed this rom today and i cant get to add an appoitment, its displays a error message. Also appears an error message when i boot the device just before entering the pin for my operator. Does anyone has the same problem or a solution to solve this???

To solve this problem you shold hard reset and setup it again.
Ths problem occurs while you set it up for the first time there was some files could not be deleted or overwrited. So after hard reset and set up it again it is solved for all ROMs

From communication manager I could not activated bluetooth.

No error no change it is still deactve.

results of 2 week of test:
all is ok even the wifi and the bluetooth starts to be stable.
the consumption is low takes care of them 1% per night with BATTERYSTATUS 143 MHZ 3ma
the only problem is when I install TOMTOM 6 consumption with BATTERYSTATUS is 267 MHZ 266ma
how is that done it?

this will stop SAPsettings.exe loading at startup. but bt/wifi still works intermittently.

I can install tom tom but when i run there is a error, something in the memory. i already tray many rom of wm6 and the error apears.

I remember your rom has a lot of option on the bluetooth menu, such as bluetooth discovery etc.. using the battery status. Is there a download I can install to get these extra bluetooth options.?

I really liked the ROM, although there are no regional settings for Hungary and I could not set the unit of measure to Celsius in the weather section.

Have you manged to find a solution for the BT bug? Is there a patch available already?

Yes there is install my Prophet Touch V5 or PDAVIET 4.0.0.6 Touch and the battery drain is gone

Cheer up !! a2dp bluetooth is working perfectly with my HTC BH S100.
No sputtering noise anymore, perfect quality, (I had some problems with the lastest PDAViet rom).

Hi,

I have used this rom for over 2 months I guess, no problems that affected my work, sometimes BT and WiFI not initialising from first try, but in the rest, all is very good. No problem with the battery draining, except when I instaled HTC Camera 4.11 ! After first day I uninstaled it and everything was back to normal. My battery works for more then 3 days, approx. 20-30 min. of talking time per day.

I can hardly wait for the next version of this ROM!

FWIW there was an early beta5 on their site.
It's old now, though, and i couldn't get the wifi working...
there is a whole lot of writing there about newer versions but as i can't read a word of thai , i got a bit stuck.
i could be very wrong but as i remember it, it looked like you have to have some number of posts there or something to download ...maybe some thai speaker here can have a look?

This ROM is very good, is fast and cool, i doné have problem with BT and WIFI, i have problem with Clock & Alarms, i can´t change de ring the ring is very bad:( and if i change hours the alarm ring again the last definition, exemple: 7:15, change to 9:50, ring on 7:15 and 9:50:confused: any one can help change alarm ring..
