Hi Jesterz,
I flash my Dopod Pro 818 with IPL 2.20.000 and it was change from IPL 3.08.000 to IPL 2.20.000 . I get by mistake IPL 3.08. 000 dan SPL 3.08.000 from another thread in Prophet Upgrading, and now I want to change my SPL lower. Any suggestion?

I have tried many version SPL and IPL on my Dopod Pro 818 like 3.08, 2.15 (from Dopod ) and I think the best version is IPL: 2.20; SPL 2.20. Its easy to upgrade any ROM (G3 ROM) and enjoy the speed

appreciate that.. was looking for a single file for spl upgrade just like the ipl 2.20

first, im a newbie.. -_-
and i hav dopod 818pro (g3).. i've never update roms or anything until i see ipl/spl and radio update.
so i update it (ipl) from 1.00, and now changed into 2.20. but havent update the spl. so it still 1.00.0000..
after update ipl it seems nothing unusual happen, after that i update the radio from (11320) into the recent (2.69.21)
and update success, but the opening screen that only show dopod logo and ipl,spl,os..
bcoz i think there was written "gsm" before the os/ after the spl, but now dissappear..
after that the loading is fine, and show the today screen. and i wanna restart it again to see the ipl,spl,etc..
after i see those, my dopod is restart otomatically and back to the HTC screen, then dopod logo with ipl/spl screen, then restarting again to the HTC screen, dopod logo ipl spl os again..
so how can i fix it bcoz now the today screen not appear alt all.. this restart loading cant reach the main screen/today screen.
so i thought i wanna reinstall the original rom, or maybe rom doesnt hav any connection with ipl/spl? so how, even open the start menu i cant.. :(

and one thing, dunno why now it can reach the today screen like usual.
so i juz clear storage and reinstall.. but still showin ipl/spl: 2.20/1.00.0000, gsm is missing, and os: 1.0.13.21..
its juz showin 3 things..
luckily it can show the today screen like usual, but i hav 2 wait 4 long time.. thats not usual.
and the performance of this pda is much slower than before..
and it says no service, or cant make/get a call, sms, and everything related to service provider at all..
bcoz rite now, my pda cant detect anything..
and 1 thing, my battery status always charging, even i dont charge it.

i wanna ask sumthing also, do i need 2 upgrade my rom version before i wan to upgrade into PDAViet rom?
or i can directly upgrade 2 PDAViet from my current rom version?
bcoz i saw sum ppl say, if want to upgrade, must from version 2.00 or earlier..

You can upgrade your OS using AKU 2.15 from Dopod official sites and it change your version Radio too. Another way, you can upgrade to Jesters ROM with AKU 2.20. After that you can flashing any PDA Viet ROM. Read the howto procedure first and wellcome to flashing addiction forum.

First read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1296235&postcount=1 and enter to Bootloader mode. If you connect your device to USB via activesync, you can see 3 items on Bootloader Mode, there are: IPL, SPL and USB;
Second, follow the instruction Upgrading to Jesters ROM
Finally, you can Upgrade your device to PDA Viet ROM.

after enter the bootloader i dont need to flash "NVID(no vendor) AKU2.2" first rite? n i just need to use the jester AKU ROM right?

bcz my device not detected by active sync.. just charging, but cant enter the device.. then the only way is only from 3 color screen.. but still i dont know how..

Please follow tis to flash your device
1. Turn your PDA into Bootloader mode. Yiu can see e three color screen as you know before;
2. Conect your PC or Laptop to your device;
3. If you see 3 items in Bootloader mode: IPL, SPL and USB than you are ready to flasing the device;
4.Run Jesters ROM with AKU 2.20 from your PC or Laptop;
4. You can see progress bar both in your PC and device and wait until finish;
5. The device will be reserted after finish executing Jesters ROM;
6. You can see the new SPL= 2.20 and GSM Radio = 2.47.21 and the original IPL in your booting device ;

If you have the original wm5 on base rom... SPL, IPL and Radio are the original!

Forget to download and install aku 2.2 because you have the jesterzs rom... Just upgrate to wm6 rom's you want... only read from the step number 6... stay cool!

IPL: Initial program load - usually paired with Secondary Program Load (SPL), is the boot loader of your phone, much like the BIOS is the boot loader for your PC. Note: IPL/SPL are highly hardware dependent, flashing the wrong IPL/SPL is much more serious than a flashing the wrong ROM. It may be noted that, sometimes a ROM package also contains the IPL/SPL which will be flashed into your phone. Hence be extra careful what you are flashing. Note: although a ROM may also contains the IPL/SPL, `ROM` usually refers just to the OS (eg. the Windows Mobile 5, not the IPL/SPL) and the ExtRom.

But why we need to upgrade? If there is no change after flashing a new version, why do you guys upgrade them?

I've flashed my ROM numerous times, and never once did it change the SPL and IPL. Does Jesterz's old WM5 ROM change the IPL/SPL automatically?

EDIT: Jesterz's old WM5 ROM does upgrade the SPL to 2.20. To upgrade the IPL, see the 1st post.

No, you don't need to upgrade the IPL or SPL to flash to any ROM. I had mine with IPL 1.00 and SPL 2.15 for a loooong time and I was happily upgrading/downgrading between WM5 & WM6

But I did upgrade to IPL 2.20 & SPL 2.20 yesterday just to see if it makes a diff. To be honest, I can't tell...

During wm5towm6 upgrade my SPL went from 2.13.0001 changed to 2.20.0001 with nvid rom on wm5towm6-page .The boot screen of imate changed to qtek in this process ,would this G4 be considered SPL upgrade? (bcoz 2.13.0001 changed to 2.20.0001 or was it g3 i guess not)

During same wm5towm6 upgrade my IPL remained 2.13.0001 (no change), would having different IPL(2.13.0001) and SPL (2.20.0001) cause any problem to handset ? or should IPL and SPL be always same (as they were 2.13.0001 previously) meaning > Is it ok to have 2.13.0001 IPL and 2.20.0001 SPL on same set

I'm go on this forum from time to time to get the latest info on the S200 and downloaded several upgrades.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the G4. It rebooted and switched of my phone, just at the moment when it should load the WM5. Even a hard reboot is useless does not start the thing up. Any ideas what to do?

I am new to this forum.

I tried to upgrade my rom installing jesterz AKU 2.20. It installed the same and displayed upgrade successful on my pc my phone switched off to get restarted but since then have not restarted. my battery status was 80% when i started the upgrade. tried charging but not happenning. I have prophet G4 ipl 2.10 and spl 3.08. have i bricked my phone by any chance if not then how can i revive my phone ............please help

1st,download IPL exe..either G3 or G4..MUST check your device !!
do some research on wiki or others thread,forums for further details..
2nd,connect your device with cable to laptop/pc
then click the exe file that you've download earlier..
follow the instruction..
finally you're done upgrade..

IPL = Initial Program Loader, this is the bootloader
i dont think it is necessary to upgrade IPL for using WM 6 rom except those SPL.

Wanted to use my prophet recently and realized i need to update numerous things, ROM, radio etc.

After rereading this thread from start to finish i wanted to know how where i can d/l radio and ROM?
I am presently running;

I was looking for an upgrade rom for my i-mate JAM but i couldn't find the way to find out if its spl is G3 or G4.
when i start the bootloader it shows only v1. 02

and when i start the phone while i-mate logo appears on the screen
there are three lines like this

You need to HardSPL your device. You can use prophet tools (link in my signature) to do this.

Your device is a G3.

Hi guys, I really need you help. I was trying to upgrade my dopod 818pro from wm 6.0 to wm 6.1 my IPL before flashing was 1.00.xxx1 and my SPL 2.20.00001
After i flashing it it just stuck and it won't get to wm6 again I try to reset and hard reset but di screen only show color red green blue with says IPL 1.00 SPL 2.20 and at top right RUU..... I am trying to flashing again but it says the device didn't connect to PC . does anybody can help me how to restore my propeth works again? thanks a lot

My only suggestion would be to try and re flash a WM5 official ROM.

Very little difference. It's almost certainly not worth the risk, unless you know what you're doing...

I tried G4 Flash on Windows 7 and it crashed. Seem Update Utility too old (Version 2.5.2). Any one point me the way to update IPL on Vista or Windows 7. Thanks all for reading.
