XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a
Taking You to the Limit
Release 3 is now available! See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324632 for downloads and discussions on this latest version of XM6!
On 7/7/07 Release 2a replaced Release 2. See known issues for the slow program folder fix, or upgrade to Release 2a
XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a (XM6r2a for short) is the second version of the popular XM6 rom for the Wizard. This is mainly a release to fix some bugs, and update apps that were in the first version of XM6.
I'm also releasing a "Lite" (not Vanilla, or Clean, but "Less Filling") version of XM6. The Lite is the exact same build with Apps removed (but some "essential tools" are left in, thus its not Vanilla or Clean, but Lite).
XM6 is built on the OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01 rom that was provided to us by InGeNeTiCs from Howard Forums. One major difference between the original Release and Release 2 is that in this version the ROM, SYS, and OEM folders originated from the Ingenetics Kitchen work by mattk_r (where the original release of XM6 was a mismash of Faria ROM kitchen OEM packages, and ones I built). Organization of this rom is much better (if you want to dump it)
Please remember that this ROM is a product of what _I_ wanted with many inputs from users of the Original XM6 and the Crossbow Reloaded series, so no complaints about why does this rom have this in it, or why didn't you put this in there. If you don't like how this rom is spiced, then go grab a ROM, put it in one of the many Kitchens now out, and make your own version. I am open to ideas on how to improve the rom so constructive criticism is appreciated (to a point ;)).
Please Note: this ROM was NOT intended to push the limits on speed optimization or memory optimization. It was made to be functional, stable, and something that I myself wanted and will use. I've found it to perform at a better than acceptable level for myself, and so far Battery life seems very good for me and those beta testing this. If you have Battery Drain issues, make sure you flashed back to an official rom before you upgraded to this one, as that should correct extended rom corruption that has been shown to cause battery draining. BatteryStatus is NOT included in this ROM due to how fast changes come out with this application, and not everyone likes it or uses it. If you want to overclock or use other features of BatteryStatus, you are welcome to download and install the latest version of BatteryStatus yourself. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751)
Base ROM Information
The base rom was an "Official" Wizard WM6 ROM that was part of the development cycle of WM6 inside of Microsoft (Dogfood as they call it). The base rom was not a port of another device rom with drivers and stuff pieced and parted onto this one, but this was an actual Wizard WM6.
Windows Mobile 6, OS 5.2.318 Build 15342.4.0.01
ROM Version: 10.1.0.811 WWE
ROM Date: 08/11/06
Protocol: 4.1.13.09
There is no Radio, IPL, SPL or Extended ROM.
What's In XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a?
Both versions have the following
Office 2007
New 8 Button "Touch" Style CommManager (yeah only 8 buttons. If you want more then install one of the many 10 or more button ones :p )
VoIP (See next post for instructions to set this up)
SQLCE
HTC X-Button v1.0
Notepad editor
Pocket RAR (ROM already has associations with .rar and .zip setup)
SIP Config 2.0.1
SynchroTime
Total Commander Beta 2.5
PIM Backup to 2.4 (updated in 2a)
Windows Live Search searches via Google
WM5torage 1.75
SIM Manager 6.13
psShutXP was Removed in 2a due to it not working properly and causing problems with Programs folder
dotFred TaskManager (with registry editor link setup and associations built in for .reg files)
Regional Settings default to English (United States) and use a slash for the date seperator (M/dd/yyyy)
Menu sounds work by default
Pressing the "End Call" button does not disconnect GPRS but minimized the active application. Pressing and holding the "End Call" button for about 5 seconds will do a GPRS Disconnect
Internet access over ActiveSync (USB) connection works (You must apply a registry fix on your PC first. See the next post for the fix)
The Full Release also contains the following
mUn designed onscreen Keyboard skin (grey/green one)
Mobile Justice (a security app that will send an SMS if an unauthorized SIM is placed in your phone)
TodayAgenda
StartClean
Pocket Screen Capture
HTC Audio Manager
CicleBT (Toggle BlueTooth on and off)
1-Calc Lite
WiFiFoFum 2.2.12
MoDaCo NoData (so you can turn off data sources)
Smartskey 0.56 (DPAD is set to 0 in the .ini so the up and down scrolling works in the Phone dialer as expected in WM6)
SMSDRFix
DotFred's SoftKeyAppletEx
Requirements
You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other).
You MUST be running ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP (Vista comes with the correct sync utility, although there have been issues reported about Vista and sync'ing with PPC's so be aware of that).
Before you attempt to upgrade to this ROM, Please follow this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613) to learn how to flash roms, CID unlock your phone, and how to fix issues you may run into! It is also recommended that you flash your phone with a Windows XP computer and not Vista. It will work with Vista, but if you run into problems Vista can't talk to a phone in Bootloader mode!
Recomendations
I HIGHLY Recommend that you flash back to an official rom before upgrading to this (or any) custom rom so you have a clean base (and correct any Extended ROM corruption you might have). G4 users would flash back to their provider's latest official release. G3 users can use T-Mobile 2.26 for a good base.
If you use BatteryStatus (its NOT included in the rom!) to overclock, I don't recommend overclocking above 260Mhz, and the CPUscaler settings in BatteryStatus should not be set to a min lower than 143MHz (or your device may not wake back up after going to sleep).
Radio Issues UPDATE: There appears to be a possible fix for the Radio issue on Cingular. Attached is a cab you can run to implement the change. I've successfully run Cingular 2.25 radio on my phone for many days now with no missed calls or SMS messages. Others have had success with 2.61 and 2.69 radios after doing this fix. You can follow this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312834) (starting around post 9) on this. A newer cab is now posted and info on it can be found around post 214 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312834&page=22).
Credits
I've moved the credits to the 6th post of this thread as this post has become too big.
Known Issues
The base rom has a bug / feature where if GPRS is active, unanswered calls may not show up as a missed call and may not give notification of the unanswered call. If this happens, the unanswered call shows up in the history as an answered call with a duration of 1 or 2 seconds.
In XM6r2 some people were having problems when they go to Start > Programs and the folder was taking a long time to paint or the phone would hang. To resolve this, remove the Shutdown.lnk and Display Switch.lnk located in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs or upgrade to XM6r2a
Every WM6 rom I've tried has an issue where if you use the "Press and Hold" of the CommManager button to switch to and from Vibrate mode, that the ringtone may not play when not in vibrate mode. To work around this go to Settings > Phone and play your ringtone and your ringing will work again.

How to not have a 24hour Clock (or how to show AM/PM)
This works on all WM6 roms
Go to Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings
Make sure you have the correct Region selected
Click on the Time tab
Click on the drop down box for Time Style
Notice the little up and down arrows? This is a scrolling region in this dropdown. Click the up arrow a couple of times and you'll find h:mm:ss tt
Thats it. Microsoft is amazing at having a 2 line scrolling region on this dropdown. You'd think they would have had at least 3 or 4 lines show up for chosing (and it would be more obvious that its a scrolling region then too).
GPRS / MMS Setups
This rom uses the new Arcsoft 4.0 software which has SMS and MMS merged together. Overall I personally like this better in my using it, so I put it into this rom. To setup your MMS settings though is a little different / odd. Here's what you do:
Go to Messaging
Menu > New > MMS
Select whichever MMS template
Menu > Options > MMS Options
Now you are in the familiar MMS settings page. You can choose the Servers tab to setup your MMS server.
Here is a list of automated and manual ways of setting up GPRS and MMS for various cell providers and regions:
Attached to this post is the cab file for Cingular users to setup GPRS and MMS.
For T-Mobile US users, here's a link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1250747&postcount=408) to a post by FZZF that has info for your setup of GPRS and MMS
Here's another link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1355040&postcount=156) with cab files for T-Mobile US users:

Splash Screens and Splash Only RUU for G4
For G4 users, I've attached a zip file with the Splash Screens of this rom (since you don't get them when you use the shell tool). As I understand it, this is completely safe for a G4 as its nothing but splash screens (no OS, IPL, SPL, Extended ROM, etc, just splash and htc logo screens). I've also placed the .bmp files that make up the splash screen in the zip file so you can see them directly before flashing this. Before anyone asks, yes, the htc logo one is grainy. I had to do that due to size limitations of the file. I tried for a couple of hours to get a nicer version to work but it wouldn't display correctly (seems to have to be pretty low res / non-complex)
If you have problems flashing the above RUU on a G4, then extract this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=29158&d=1152698784 and pull the nk.nbf file out of the above Splash Screen file and put it into the directory of this one and run this RUU. You can use the same method for flashing the Radio Only ROM (pull the nk.nbf file out of the radio only rom and put it into the directory of this RUU and run it). Thanks anichillus for that link! You can also check this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291215) for another RUU that is in English and seems to work for most G4 users. Thanks Vippie!
Weather Panel Setup
See my post in the Wizard forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307781) on how I setup WeatherPanel. It will give you a fixed dll with correct moon phases through 2008, new/better Moon phase icons, and a cool theme called Chameleon-240 QVGA. I dumped SBSH Pocket Weather after seeing this setup :)
Hermes Black Cabs that may be of Interest
Transcriber can be added back into XM6r2a by using the Black 3 Add-on CABs file (http://sinisterfrog.com/getblack/Black%203%20Add-on%20CABS.rar). There may be others in it that may be of interest also for some. Included in this file is Cyberon VoiceCommander, Cyberon Voice Dial, VIjay555 utils, and a Slingbox patch (none of these I've tested) and Adobe Reader LE.
10 Button Black CommManager
Some seem to think 10 buttons are better than 8, and some just like the look of the 10 button CommManager over the 8 button one in this rom. So attached to this post is a zip file with the 10 Button Black CommManager. You shouldn't have to use the cert cab file, just run the CommManager one.
Turning off Word Auto Completion
Some people do not like how Windows Mobile tries to suggest words that you may be typing. If you are one of those people, jacob-mda wrote up a post on how to turn it off. Check out This Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311441).
Auto Completion for Spanish
User peu found the file to change the auto completion of words to Spanish. You can check his post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1371686&postcount=277) for details and a link.
New DialPad to match the CommManager
The EquinoXe was successful at pulling out the dial pad from the HTC Touch and it matches up with the CommManager in XM6 very nicely (see pic attached below). I've attached the CAB to this thread, so if you'd like to use this dialpad, just download and install. Cool! WARNING: If you install this, you can't just uninstall it. It requires a HARD RESET or you have to reflash this rom to go back to the original dialpad that was included in WM6r2! Some love this DialPad and the features of it, and others don't like it.
BatteryStatus (for Overclocking, CPUScalar, and much much more)
BatteryStatus is a very popular utility around here and for good reasons. Currently its in a beta phase and the author is releasing new versions of the beta constantly so I decided not to put it in the rom and let people install whatever build of it they want. Also, some versions of BatteryStatus have been known to cause excessive battery drain, so be aware of that too. You can find it in the Official BatteryStatus thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751) and if you do use it, feel free to give feedback on it in that thread as they are always looking for ways to improve it.
NOTE: If you do use overclocking, I recommend you use the OMAP Apps tab to setup Camera to be at 195Mhz as it can mess up the display if you are overclocked and doing the camera.

I'm always updating these first posts, so check here periodically for new information!

Info on Included Apps
MobileJustice v0.8
MobileJustice is an Anti-theft app that you can configure on your phone. Just go to Start > Programs > Accessories and click on the MJConfig icon (first time in you will get a message that there isn't a config file, just click ok and it will be created). To us this, check the Enabled box, then click Add on the Allowed line. You can then setup your SIM card as an authorized one, and add other SIM cards IMSI numbers if you use more than one. Next click on Add next to Report to: and setup an SMS number (wife, friend, colleague) where you want the text message to go to if an unauthorized SIM is put into your phone. You can add multiple SMS numbers if you want. At this point, your phone will now be setup so that if an unauthorized sim is put in it, then it will send an SMS (with no record of it being sent) to your Report To list on the next boot (you can test this by not setting up (or removing) the Allowed and then doing a soft reset).
For more advanced, you can turn on the Disp MsgBox at the top and then put in some text in the MsgBox text line. This will pop up a Message box on the screen of the phone after a boot, if an unknown sim is in the phone.
You can also enable RMon (bottom half of the screen), put in a pass phrase, and then turn on MsgBox (GPS and LocCall do not work on Wizards, and the other options haven't been implemented in this version). By doing this, you can now send an SMS to your phone in the following format:
+m passphrase message
Rmon will intercept the sms message (so it will not show up as a received message), and if the passphrase matches the one you put in the configuration, then it will pop up a message box on the phone with your message in it (so you can secretly send messages to the thief to possibly intimediate them (or whatever).
The project page for MobileJustice is located at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/mjustice/

I'm still updating the first couple of posts. Screen shots are coming.
Since most seem interested in memory, the Lite version gives you about 29meg of free Program memory. The Full Version just over 28meg of free Program memory (so not a lot of difference, but thats right after flash).
Thanks for the quick answer. What time is it there? Here it's 9am.

you should try and get hold of a link for the 1.6 UK version of Voice command, as I had tried the 1.5 on the XDA Mobile 6 and it didn't work. 1.6 works fine.

I trust you managed to resolve the comm manager issue?

No problem on not being able to help with the Beta, seemed a number of people I invited couldn't participate, but we all have lives outside of XDA (hard to believe, but we do ;)).
Yes, the CommManager issue in XM6 is fixed in XM6r2. And then the CommManager issue I had with the Lite beta is also fixed in this released version.

If someone will upload the UK 1.6 someplace, I'll link to it in the second thread, but I've never seen a copy of the UK 1.6 version of VC.
And I'm MDT, so GMT -6... So its 1:35am here (and I'm heading to bed). But I made my goal of releasing this rom for the 4th of July. So my Fireworks for the Wizard community
Also screenshots have been uploaded to the first post, and the 2nd and 3rd posts have been updated with info...
Waiting for comments about the first splash screen... ;) Finally did one that doesn't stink (IMO). I'm sure some won't care for it, but its fun for me (I'm a SciFi nut).

This is just great, for the first time in ages the flash completes in about 9 mins using shelltool. I personally had to change the 8 button touch comm manager for the same one again (sounds confusing) as the default one in this rom has cleartype enabled, and on some roms the same comm manager it's disabled, so i installed one again that has it disabled. Maybe there is an easier way to do it ?
I also had a few lockups while scrolling up and down in the programs section. So i removed the battery and it seems ok now.
Otherwise brill so far... :)

hmm, i had it lock up again in the programs section after trying shutdown, or display switch, one of those anyway. Also with the shutdown menu if you select shutdown it only turns off the display, so i don't think that works properly anyway. Finally if i turn off the phone it does'nt always start up correctly, it hangs half way through, so i have to reset it, then its ok again.
Maybe a few bugs, not sure ?

Probably this is a bug of psshutxp, not from rom....i never see the shutdown button working...always turn of the display.

mfrazzz.... first off let me say Thank you for your excellent roms. I'm currently running Crossbow Reloaded 1.7 and loving it. Very few problems. Only real one I've noticed lately is that my phone app locks up every once and a while and I have to soft reset to be able to dial a number... but that is a matter for a different thread.
I have a question about this rom and it's messaging app. One of the features I needed from WM6 was the messaging app's ability to flag messages which it got from an exchange server and to share those flags with the server... i.e. if I flagged a message on the webclient, then it would show up flagged on the phone... and vice-versa. Flagging was new all together for WM6... I saw it in many reviews of WM6, but did not find it in crossbow reloaded 1.7... it that because of the rom... will I find it in this rom?
Thanks again for the wonderful work you do.

I'm not having this issue with PSShutXP. It works great for me. When you run Shutdown it also creates a link for display off, is that what you are hitting?
I've beta tested this ROM for a week and have not had the startup issue. Hmm.. Maybe try a hard reset.

I have read the flash thread and wanted to try this rom.
I have a qtek 9100 (G4) and it shouldn't have a CID-Lock on it.
When i try to update from win XP with ActiveSync 4.5
my device reboots to a red, green, blue, white screen and the flash utility displays :

Please get newer update utility.

Okay, I am using XDA62 for about 12 hours now. Three times when I tried to access the programs folder it froze up. This it froze as a call was about to ring.
Thats four freezes in half a day (I was getting maybe one with Faria)
Either it still has some bugs or I did something wrong.
Everything works fine though, and I really like the way it looks.
BTW the phone is a lot more stable than Faria, it used to take time to find the network amd randomly loose the signal, no such problems anymore!

I've been running R2 for a week and have never seen issues with programs or settings. I had multiple people doing beta testing on this and it did not come up for them either. I honestly don't know what to tell you. What ipl/spl are you? And did you use RUU or ShellTools to install this?

how you are doing to flash?? are you using wizard love or your operator rom?
i always use wizard love (downgrade to wm5), flash a empty ext_rom (to remove wizard love ext_rom) and then flash with shelltools a wm6.

I got the same thing in when i first started using the new ROM, but it's seems to be a thing of the past, it doesn't do it anymore.
The only problem i'm having now w/ the XDA6 Release 2 (Full) is it restarting it's self randomly, and a horrible battery drain. Within the last hour and fourty-five I've used over 13%. This is LIGHT usage, Bluetooth GPS was being used, and TomTom. I don't know if this is the culprit, but I wasn't texting, and made A phone call.
Any ideas, for both or any of the issues?

Ok, I knew I wanted to add something to the 2nd post and couldn't remember what it was... How to setup MMS.
Hope that helps! Once you get MMS setup, I think you'll like the Arcsoft 4.0 interface where MMS and SMS are combined.

Go to Regional Settings and verify you are setup for the correct Region. Then click on the Time tab and in the drop down for the style, there are up and down arrows on the right side of the drop down box. Use the small up arrow a couple of times to get to the h:mm:ss tt setting and you will be good.

I use my Jawbone and Spider (A2DP) BT headsets all the time with this rom, and nobody has any problem hearing me. So I don't think this is a problem with the rom.

Sorry... think I was mis-understood... I do get the priority flags... but in outlook you can also set a flag of a message you get... i.e. follow up on this... it places a red box with a reg flag inside of it. Then, when you followup on whatever task you needed to do regarding that email, you click it again and it leaves a little check box or flag or something marking that you did follow up on it...
Sorry if I'm not makeing myself clear on this... I've attached a thumbnail I found from a WM6 review...

Here are my observations after about 30 hours of use:
1. better memory management over r1.
2. great battery life - been on this charge for the past 14 hours despite very heavy use.
3. no screen misalignment issues like I had with r1.
4. reliably using 2.69 radio rom with mfrazzz's cab, changing the value to 2. In the past the phone would not wake up for calls and text messages with any rom beside 2.19.
5. really fast GPRS. In the past it would top out at around 180 kbps, now I am seeing 200+ speeds.
6. whole UI seems zippier, except for that dreaded program folder slow-up. I've found that the best thing to do is wait for it.
7. turn off in the shutdown device applet only turns off the screen. What's the diff between that and standby?
8. significant decrease in reset time over r1. I've clocked it at around a minute-another 30 secs or so if TodayAgenda is enabled vs. over 2 mins for r1.
Thanks for the hard work, mfrazzz. I think this rom might have cured me of rom fever. ;)

How did you back them up? As long as it wasn't with something like Spb backup you can just install the program you used to back them up to do the restore, then remove that program and start using PIM Backup.
As for the slow program folder issue. I let a few people try the Beta 2 version and the problem apparently went away for them. I'll look at redoing the build and I'm hoping its as simple as something happened during the build of r2. Otherwise I'll have to go back to Beta 2 and see what changes I made when I moved to the final (the biggest change I can think of was adding psShutXP in around that time, so something I did there maybe... And then its not working right anyway, so maybe I'll dump it in the next rebuild).
I'll ping a few of you that have posted about the slow programs folder and give you a new rom to try out. We'll try to get this worked out as this is the only real issue I see with this release so far.
As for Battery Drain some are reporting, If you are having this, then I ask that you flash back to an official rom (G4 users have to do whatever they do for this, Wizard Love I guess) then flash this rom. Don't add ANYTHING else to the phone and tell me if you still have the Battery Drain after about 24 hours or so with the phone in this state. Understand that anything you add to the rom (especially various builds of BatteryStatus) changes the dynamics of all roms and how they behave. If you are running push mail or some app that connects to the net every 15 mins or so, then you are going to see more battery drain, and its just hard to compare. For me, those in my beta test, and others in this thread, there really isn't battery drain on this rom beyond what is seen on any other WM6 (and most reports is that battery drain is less on this rom that most WM6 roms out there).
One thing that I'm finding very frustrating is how a rom seems to behave differently on different phones. All I can say is that due to this, what works for some may not work for you, and if I can't reproduce it, its doubtful I can "fix" it when its not broken for me. Makes me wonder how different some of the hardware and things are in the different versions and builds of the wizard devices...

NoData never works for me, i just get an error message saying
NoData.exe
NullReferenceException
Do you have GPRS set up on your phone? I think NoData requires at least GPRS to be setup, otherwise you see errors like this. I'm pretty sure I saw this exact same error right after I flashed my phone, but then I realized I hadn't run my GPRS cab. After I did that, the error didn't show up again.
Oh, and my original thought was the full version would be called "Great Taste" and the Lite version "Less Filling" but I was afraid it would confuse people (especially those not from the USA and not familiar with those beer commercials) ;)

7. turn off in the shutdown device applet only turns off the screen. What's the diff between that and standby?
This is a bug. The shutdown should turn the phone completely off. This (I'm pretty sure) was working in Beta 2, but for some reason isn't working in this build. As I look at the program folder issue, I'm relooking at psShutXP as I sort of suspect something happened with this and there may be a connection.
8. significant decrease in reset time over r1. I've clocked it at around a minute-another 30 secs or so if TodayAgenda is enabled vs. over 2 mins for r1.
This was one of my main goals with R2 was to get rid of the LONG startup time issues the first release had. So far so good...
Thanks for the hard work, mfrazzz. I think this rom might have cured me of rom fever. ;)
This was a goal of mine also... I'm ready to stop flashing and just sit on a rom for awhile...

I'm now sure I have a bug somewhere. I used PIMbackup to backup my messages. So thought it would be easy to restore. I tried and failed. I even went as far as deleting the contents in order to restore (backing up the contents in the first place). But the folders are empty. All previous backups failed.
So I resorted to just live for now with the new messages, but restoring them also failed. So me thinks I downgrade, try to restore then upgrade the ROM again. I have prepared 3 ROMS to see work through the downgrade and upgrade. Anyone got last words, I'm 30mins from the "Procedure"!:D

Tried using WM6Titanium_Version2 but restore could not work there too. So crossing my fingers that this wont brick my phone. Especially that my supplier has not yet brought in my JasJam, went through this process (for the love of funny smses my wife sent me! - could be easy asking her to resend as I love this ROM)
So had to flash with CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE. Then tried restore for my messages and worked like a charm! But IPL/SPL 1.01
So will now start going back to the future. I love my Wizardiry!
Messed start XDAr2 without updting IPL/SPL fingers crossed I remembered clearly "You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other)" So can I get into bootloader just after finish and update these? All done IPL/SPL 3.08
XDAr2 and still no way to restore my messages. 300 records found in file, 0 inserted in Database!
Awesome, worked on the 3rd try. I love challanges, they surely piss me off!!!

I don't want to be rude but you've got over fifteen hundred posts on these forums but you couldn't take the time to read through this thread before posting? The problem you mentioned has been mentioned by many others above as you would know if you had taken the time to take a look. Mfrazzz has a great history of supporting his ROMs and I expect this is something he'll solve and fix shortly. Until then, perhaps "Search" could be of use to you?
It should be noted that I often help out newbies and really dislike it when people come down hard on people who ask silly questions in their first or second post. However when someone with 1500+ posts can't read through the thread of a ROM he's going to flash to his own phone then I find myself somewhat less forgiving.

Read the first, second and third posts of this thread instead of just grabbing a rom, flashing it, and then posting (without reading) and expecting people to do things for you!!! I don't type all of that stuff in my releases just to see myself with large posts. I try to provide EVERYTHING you need to get this to work, and provide lots of extra info (Like how to get it to show AM/PM instead of military time). If you are too lazy to read, then go back to an official WM5 rom and don't flash custom roms anymore.
I've deleted all the rest of this post that I wrote (it was LONG) as its a rant that I don't feel like really posting now after I've now cooled off some. What I will say is that I know there is an issue with the program folder and psShutXP in this rom, so I"M going to work on fixing these issues. After that, I think I'm done with public releases of roms. I have to saw I've enjoyed giving back to the Wizard community, but lately its been a real drain for me and I don't even enjoy coming here much anymore due to it.

If by set up, you mean with a T-Mobile cab, then no. I don't even get GPRS, so I think I dont really need to worry about it anymore. This problem only began once I used custom ROMs without and of the T-Mobile ext rom programs.
And anyone could find those commercials on the internet now :D
And one more thing. What causes the large text in the dialpad, cuz i have that happening again.

Update Error in 99%
Hi. I have K-Jam (ipl/spl 2.16).
I've used the Dr Puttingham tutorial to downgrade (using button's 1.05 ROM)and unlock my device using lokiwiz (worked fine).
After that, my ipl wasn't 2.xx (pre-req to upgrade to wm6). I've tried to apply T-Mobile 2.26 ROM, but didn't work (my mobile is a regular k-jam).
So, I've installed k-jam rom (to update the ipl and spl to 2.xx).
When I tried to update do wm6, I've got 302 Update Error in 99% of install.
So, I've recovered to button's 1.05 ROM.
What did I do wrong?
Could anybody help me?

??
This was a really hard one and it took me a lot of trial and error to figure this out, and I'm pretty happy with the solution I found.
There is NO initflashfiles.txt for this package!!! Its actually done with registry settings via editing a SYS file.
You have to edit the file: SYS\OEM_Lang_0409\mxip_oem_translation_0409.provxm l
In this file you need to modify the following line:
<parm name="TotalApplets" value="8" datatype="integer"/>
And replace the 8 with a 9 (as you are adding an Applet to the list. Then you need to add the following code:
<characteristic type="HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCCPL\Applet8">
<parm name="Name" value="NoData" datatype="string"/>
<parm name="Title" value="NoData" datatype="string"/>
<parm name="Path" value="NoData.exe" datatype="string"/>
<parm name="CmdLine" value="" datatype="string"/>
</characteristic>
<characteristic type="HKLM\ControlPanel\NoData">
<parm name="Group" value="2" datatype="integer"/>
</characteristic>
The NoData package will only have 4 files in it after you do this: The .dsm file, NoData shortcut (really thats not even used so you could not have that I think), NoData.exe, and options.xml.
Hope that makes sense. So yeah... Sometimes there is more to cooking a rom than just adding packages, and you have to dig to find out how things work ;). Like I said, that one was frustrating as heck to figure out at first.

It transpires that this ROM was released just in time for for dotfred (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=272796) to release PimBackup v2.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705).
...and for WiFiFoFum v2.2.12 (http://www.freewareppc.com/communication/wififofum.shtml) to come out.
;)
Actually this rom had WiFiFoFum 2.2.12 in it. That was a typo in the first post that used to say 2.2.9 (that was from the first XDA release).
And yeah, now PIM Backup 2.4 is out. Sheesh... I've got it in for the rebuild I'm working on to fix the program folder issue.

Yeah this was my suspicion... I'd like others to try this for a "quick fix". But I've posted a test rom in the 4th post of this thread (both Full and Lite versions). The test rom removes psShutXP out of the rom and updates PIM Backup to 2.4 (latest version). If you had the slow folder issue, please try the above fix and if you could, try the new rom build and report back on it.
Thanks!

Ok, I've updated the first post and the official version is now XDA Mobile 6 Release 2a (or XM6r2a). This version removes psShutXP from the rom (and thereby fixes the issue with the programs folder being slow or hanging the device). Also PIM Backup is upgraded to v2.4.
If you don't want to reflash, then just remove the Shutdown.lnk and the Display Switch.lnk from your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder, and this should resolve the issue.
Thanks to ajahoic and charly_mx for confirming this fix and charly_mx for the quick test of the r2a rom.

Just add the cab onto your phone and its supported. In the 2nd post is a link to the Black add ons and Cyberon Voice Dialing cab is in there. I personally use Microsoft Voice Command as it works well for me (but I know not everyone likes that, so thats why I don't build either into my roms. Choose and install whichever one you prefer).

Previously, I had troubles with XM6 R1 as well as XM6 R2 (this ROM). The phone used to take up to 4 minutes to boot on my cingular 8125 (stuck on last boot screen for several minutes), however once it booted it would run fine. Soft-resets became a pain in the @$$, as the boot time literally took FOREVER.
However, after spending quite a while, I FINALLY found the problem - a program I had installed, SPB Pocket Plus, was conflicting with something from XM6(however not with Crossbow 1.7). Uninstalling the program didn't help, so I had to hard-reset and re-install all my programs EXCEPT SPB Pocket Plus. Now my total boot time (time from hitting the power button to seeing the Today Screen) is under 45 seconds! Awesome!
To prove that it's SPB Pocket Plus causing this issue, I took my other wizard (T-mobile MDA) and flashed it to XM6 R2, then installed ONLY SPB Pocket Plus (nothing else). Guess what happened? 4-minute boot-up time again!
I only used SPB Pocket Plus because it added an "Alt-Tab" and "Close ALL" feature which I found extremely useful (anyone know of any other Alt-Tab solutions?).
Anyway, now that that's figured out, I'm running XM6 R2 flawlessly, 45 second boot times, and a total of 6 seconds to go to the /WINDOWS folder from root. I'm using the 2.69 radio with your fix and no missed calls yet. The ROM runs fast and perfectly, and no issues with the Program folder either. Thanks mfrazzz, I'll be sticking to this for a while! Keep cooking!

Is there an XDA Mobile 6 release for the Hermes (8525)?
Donate a Hermes to me (or just paypal the money to cover it) and I'll gladly work on a Hermes port ;)
ok dumb question here how the heck do u install .cab files ive searched all over forums for sum info on that n cant find out nething so if sum1 could point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it but till then my search continues :-D!
Download CABviaActiveSync (http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=248516), its fantastic and the best way to do this! Just right click on a cab on your pc and you chose to install it through activesync automagically.
@cmarticus - What is the ruu 480 installer? Is there a link for it? If its a newer version of RUU is it a NOID one, and is it in English?
@notatrumpetpro - Dude... I told you in my post that you only have to read the first couple of posts and the answer is right there. I think that is MORE than enough help. Sorry, but I refuse to just give you the answer now since you seem to making no attempt to find this and prefer to post asking for help. I'm more than happy to help people (and have went way out of my way to assist people at times, just ask around here) but you have to show me you are at least trying.
@nycelitemaster - I'll have to look but my build came from the OEM packages before mattk_r started trying to integrate in all the touch stuff into them (personally I think this is a huge mistake and I probably won't use newer versions of his packages now. I admire all the work going in on the TouchFlo stuff, but I think its the wrong direction for creating a STABLE and usable rom for the masses (which is my goal)). The touch stuff is slick and cool, but I don't feel its primetime for real everyday use on a Wizard at this point (but its slick and cool bleeding edge stuff, and I'm glad they are doing that). I'll have to look, but I think my packages were from the OEM 3.2 or 3.4 of mattk_r's stuff. As I said previously, you could save yourself a LOT of work if you'd just dump my rom, and then move forward from there. If you do the dump, you'd have my exact SYS/ROM/OEM directories for when I built this. Then you can add and remove what you want. But lets take this to PM, or start a new thread if you want to discuss this further, as this, to me, is really outside the scope of supporting this ROM. BTW: If you dump my rom, you will also have working versions of the packages I used. I had to make changes to a few of them, as they had errors / bugs. So IMO, its not worth trying to reinvent the wheel unless you are wanting to do that to learn how all of this works. If thats the case, then keep going this route, but lets move ROM building support out of this thread.

To prove that it's SPB Pocket Plus causing this issue, I took my other wizard (T-mobile MDA) and flashed it to XM6 R2, then installed ONLY SPB Pocket Plus (nothing else). Guess what happened? 4-minute boot-up time again!
Very good info and investigating! Thanks!
I only used SPB Pocket Plus because it added an "Alt-Tab" and "Close ALL" feature which I found extremely useful (anyone know of any other Alt-Tab solutions?).
Alt-Tab is built into this rom!!! After a flash, just press the Voice button (upper right side of the phone) and it activates PHM Alt-Tab by default. I don't use recording, so I put Voice Command on the Hold-Button-4 one and leave Alt-Tab in place on Button 4.
Thanks... I just switched to 2.69 myself, and so far battery life seems much better than when I had 2.61 or Cingular 2.25 radio on my phone. Also seem to get better reception in areas than 2.19 and 2.25 had. Only been on my phone since this morning, but so far messages and calls have come through. I'll find out for sure tonight when my wife gets home (as thats when she'll tell me she's been trying to reach me and I haven't been answering ;)).

Firstly a big thanks to mfrazzz for the rom.
Unfortunately I seem to be having a problem with sms messaging, i.e.
I can't restore my backed up sms messages using pimbackup (I backed them up using pimbackup in Crossbow Reloaded 1.7)
I can't send any newly created sms messages (they just sit in the outbox)
I can't view any newly received sms mesages (I can see that I've received a new message on the today screen but they don't appear in the messaging inbox)
Since flashing the rom I have installed: VC1.6, Weatherpanel & Batterystatus.
VC reads out any new sms messages when they are received so I know I'm getting them, but I just can't view the messages in Arcsoft messaging.
I have scanned this post and others but the only found reference to problems restoring backed up messages with pimbackup, but at the moment not been able to read new messages is a greater problem for me.
I will be re-flashing and checking a few scenarios tonight to see if I can find out what the problem is, but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas on the possible cause/fix, I would appreciate it.

I ran into a problem sending MMS messages. SMS's work fine. I set up everything to the letter as described in the 2'nd post and the link supplied for T-mobile users about installing the cabs for the data service. I even went to the t-mobile site to make sure they haven't changed servers. (took into account the 050 needing to be 50 at the end as well) And they just sit in the outbox. They appear to attempt sending, connecting to GPRS and everything. Then nothing. I'm at work now so i can't change anything here but i'm digging around to see what the problem is. I'm using the T-mobile 2.19 UK radio rom & IPL/SPL 3.08. And my wireless internet stuff does work although for some reason it seems a little slow and i cannot access the youtube mobile through it.
Anybody have any ideas while im buzzing through the search results?

Look in this thread for IPL/SPL 3.08 and Radio 2.69, I use these without a problem on US T-Mobile. As with all radio ROMs, YMMV. Some have reported missed calls, but I never have had a problem. These are (as far as I know) the highest numbered of all the ROMs.

Well perhaps if you try using this cab you can somehow fix some issues regarding call dropping or related to GPRS data transference.
I also feel that their is a power drain issue with this ROM. I just found in the registry that the key regarding to power management are disabled.
the keys are.
DisablePowerManagement and must be set to 0.
DisablePowerManagement = 0
This will help to reduce power drain.
Best Regards.!!

Quick question. Is there any reason why the input method in which you can just write on the screen is missing? That was one of the things I loved in WM5 and I'll be a little sad if they just decided to take it out for WM6.

it is up to the Cook to incude transcriber to their WM6 ROM.
Do a search on transcriber, you can just install it and you will be fine.

Most people never use Transcriber (I'll admit, I had my phone for 9 months before I even heard about it, and I thought it was something new in WM6  ). When I was creating this rom, I needed space and it came down to leaving Transcriber in and removing Adobe, or Adding Adobe Reader and taking out Transcriber. For me, more people use Adobe Reader for various things, so Transcriber lost. But with that said, if you read the second post, I have a link to the Black addon cabs and Transcriber is in that. So just grab a copy of that file, and install Transcriber and you'll be back to scribbling on your screen ;)
BTW: Not to brag or toot my own horn, but I'm loving that since XM6r2a came out, there have been no real reports of anything major, just little things here and there... :) Maybe I can retire now... :D

Awesome thanks. After a full re-flash (going down to T-mobile base and then back up) I can report that I have seen no bugs whatsoever and it runs FAST. The one thing I bumped in to that could be improved are the icons for missed calls and speed dial numbers, but that's just nitpicking.

Thanks for posting 2a - I was having the slow Program issue. I have also had a couple of other problems as well, namely I cannot change the ringtone (it always plays the default, no matter how I set it), and Live Messenger logs me in and boots me within seconds every time. I figure there is prolly a cab I can install to fix it, but it is definitely an issue on mine, anyway. I also cannot lower the volume with the slider when I am in a call or lower the volume when the Comm Manager is up.
Nevertheless, I continue to enjoy your ROMs as they are good on power consumption and generally stable - thanks as always!!

Not sure what to tell you on these. I can change my ringtone (it does tend to go back to the default and I'm looking into a fix for that), and Live Messenger has worked fine for me (I used it some during Beta to talk to a couple of the beta testers and I seemed to stay connected).
Smartskey is on by default, you might want to turn it off (or dont have it control the volume slider) and see if that resolves those issues.

Yeah the default WM6 icons for missed, received, and calls made are not great (IMO). I seem to remember an earlier version of WM6 that had better icons. May need to find that and see if I can swap them out.
I personally have went back to the Touch dialer on my phone. I like the look and feel of it, and like the one handed operation of it (even if it means you have to pop up menus and use the dpad to select things). The icon for missed calls with it is a little better IMO. But be warned... If you install that dialpad (its in the 2nd post of this thread) and you don't like it, you can't uninstall it (that I'm aware of) but have to hard reset or reflash to get rid of it (so don't do it unless you understand that "gotcha").

Yeah, I'm using the Touch dialer too and I love it. The only thing I wish I could do with it is skin it to match the WM6 Green skin but we can't all have our way, can we? The one-handed operation is what drew me to it and I honestly don't think I'd switch off of it, even if it is a little bit slow compared to the rest of the phone interface. Even still, the missed call/incoming/outgoing/speed dial icons are kinda bad. I don't think they're exclusive to the Touch dialer only because I remember when I had the r1 beta installed I recall the icons being better. Maybe for a future update or something. Think about it :)

I really like this program and have now been forced to load another rom which I'm not too keen on just so I can have quotes on my today screen.

Love this rom. I had to do very little tweaking to get it just to my liking. The only thing I added was Youtube download support and skype to my wizard. I am having problems with blackberry connect. I've tried using both 2.1.2.31 and 2.1.2.54.
To make sure there weren't problems with my BES account, I went back to my other Wizard which still has XDA Mobile 6 on it. I was able to re-establish sync with that phone and operation resumed normally. However, using XDA Mobile 6 2a I am unable to maintain a connection to the BlackBery Edge network. I
am using the same SIM for both phones and I can't figure a particular reason why this would be happening. So far it looks like BlackBerry Connect isn't supported under this revision.

Are you on XM6r2 or r2a? I completely removed psShutXP from r2a, so that shouldn't happen at all.
Where does the wm6voip.cab install to? There is no accessories folder.
What cab is this (and where did you get it)? Most cabs will just create the folder they need if its not there, so if its set to put stuff in accessories, then you will have an accessories folder in Programs after its done. You could then use total commander to move the link to the ToolBox folder if you prefer.
@itburnout - I didn't do anything to disable Blackberry support between r1 and r2/r2a. I've never used it before so can't say if it does or doesn't work.
@smileyaj2005 - As I've stated previously, I made the choice to upgrade on r2/r2a to the Arcsoft v4.0 software. This combines SMS / MMS, and for me, I like this better (I never understood why I had to look in different places for text and picture messages, so this to me makes sense). You would have to downgrade to v3.x with a CAB, but I'm not sure thats doable or not and I don't have a cab for doing this.
@shadezero - Boto originally gave me the psShutXP theme I put in r2. If you want those files, I can post them later today (not on that computer now).
@Desktopflame - I've never seen or used Quote of the Day. If you provide me a link or cab for the app, I can take a look at it and see if I can see why it doesn't work. Does it work on other WM6 roms?

Still going strong for me. I flashed to the 2.69.11 Radio and the signal in my area (at work) seems to be a LITTLE more reliable. at home and everywhere else i was getting 80%-full stregnth.
I have a cingular 8125 and I was hoping that I could either find this ROM, for a flash base, or a cingular equivalent. I've been flashing/reflashing my phone so many times I may have a pretty miffed ext ROM. Last one I did before trying a few WM6 roms was a sumitter rom way back in the day...
searching 20 pages worth of posts for the 't-mobile 2.26' rom turned up no WORKING links and took quite a while to search. Any help for a cingular user here?
IPL/SPL 2.24
Radio 2.25.11 (great radio version for US Cingular/AT&T)
Anything that might just wipe the extended rom itself?

Ok, I used Google to translate this (sort of) and it appears to say something like this:
habra touchflo in your next one cooked? when?
In answer to this question, at this time I have no plans to mess with TouchFlo. I'm going to play around with it using Zoki's rom most likely, but unless I'm missing something, its just a cool factor type thing, and I've always built roms for stability, not for bleeding edge. My phone is an important tool for me, so while cool is fun, I need something that is stable and works. Plus, as I've heard, TouchFlo can be a memory hungry app.

I got my new pair of Jabra BT620S today. Paired them up just fine. WM6 detected both "Wireless Stereo" and "Hands Free" services. Hands free works fine.
However, I cannot for the life of me get the wireless stereo (A2DP) working. I click+hold the BT620s entry, and select "Set as Wireless Stereo" and nothing happens.
I have searched all the forums, and the only thing I found was that some folks had better luck with a newer WM6 OS version. This one is 5.2.318, and they were suggesting 5.2.1488 (?) or something like that.
Anyone else have this same problem? Anyone have a solution?

Maybe someone with these can respond, but my Spider A2DP headphones hooked right up and sound great (I know, that doesn't help you). So A2DP does work on the rom, and I've seen others with other types of A2DP headphones report it worked for them.

How do you know your G4 is CID Unlocked??? Unless you (or someone) paid IMEI Check to CID unlock it, your device is NOT CID unlocked (there is no other way to unlock a G4 currently).
If you read the 2nd post, I have information and pointers to newer RUU's that you can try to use on your device.

I have been having the same problem with bluetooth. smetimes the mic works. sometimes it doesn't.
Weird. I'm going to mess around for a little bit and get back to you.
edit: still not working. I've tried everything I can think of. I even reloaded the ROM, going back to the standard T-mobile one and then flashing up to XM6r2 and the 2.19.11 radio. The damn thing still doesn't take mic inputs from BT headsets.

Thanks mfrazzz attached is the cab file for the trial version of quotetoday. It must be loaded to the main memory. When you go into the options there is a drop down box where you are supposed to be able to choose which quote file to use or select random. On the today screen when you tap the quote it is supposed to change to another quote. Both of these things are not happening. It is as if the program doesnt know where to look for its own files.
I loaded your rom 3 times to try to see if it was a bad flash each time returning to t-mobile rom beforehand but the same thing happens everytime. This program works on all other roms I have tried. It would be great if I could once again return to using your rom. Many thanks in advance

Great job, Mfrazzz! This is my first WM6 flash, and everything works great!
I noticed one minor thing, there's a setting in Start > Settings > Buttons > Lock > "lock buttons if device is locked." But it doesn't lock the "end call" button.
So if anyone knows how to get the "end call" button to lock when the phone is locked, to prevent accidentally hanging up on people when the phone's in a pocket or bag while talking on BT, that would be pretty great. Maybe there's a button lock utility or something?

Are you on XM6r2 or r2a? I completely removed psShutXP from r2a, so that shouldn't happen at all.
This is the cab you have posted in your second post. It doesn't create an SIPManager icon either.

Hi, I just finished installing this firmware following the tutorials. Im totally newbie to the WM6 platform (but not to upgrading firmwares on other platforms) so please if Im asking dumb questions please let me know (or point me to enlightening thread plz)
- After the upgrade some keys are misplaced, for example my keyboard shows the @ symbol over the S but to type it I need to press the D
Others are also misplaced, but I guess by solving one I'll solve the others
- Is there any way to add a spanish auto-complete predictive dictionary?
- I managed to change the ringtone to a custom MP3, but found no way to change the SMS sounds, is this possible?
And being a newbie, can someone point me to a quick WM6 tutorial? I have more questions, but aren't specific to this firmware, I dont want to post them here.
Thanks!

frazzz here is a tip that can resolve the slow program folder issue with psshutxp, if you going to build it in or when you install on wm6 it tends to slow down or gives u hang. Rename psshutxp to psshutxp_nosc.exe, it should resolve that bug, because it doesn't generate icons in program folder which fixes the prob Have fun

The phone not switching from vibrate to ring properly is a known issue and something I've had with every single WM6 rom I've tried. In most cases this is caused by using the Press and Hold on the Comm Manager button to switch between Vibrate and Ring, but I've also seen it a few times when just turning the ringer to vibrate and then back to ring with the Sound icon too. The fix for this problem is to simply go to Settings > Phone and then play your ring tone. The phone will then ring properly. I now am in the habit that when I take my phone off vibrate, I do the play ring tone trick immediately and I've never seen this problem since (to be honest if you quit using the Press and Hold the CommManager button you almost never see this problem either).
Hope that helps...

What do you mean by "default blue"??? There is NO blue theme in XM6 (any release). If you are seeing blue, then you aren't running XM6. The default theme is a black theme with "glowing neon blue" swirls (is that what you mean by blue theme?).
Switching themes work fine for me. Have you loaded X-Button 1.5 on your device? If so, turn it off, as it has a bug that causes themes to not change (thats why I keep X-Button 1.0 on my roms).

The glowing neon blue is what I ment. It's whatever the full version of XM2a comes with.

Not sure this was addressed:
* First, grab an older copy of PIM backup and use that to restore your file from Crossbow Reloaded 1.7. If you need a copy, let me know and I'll post the file for you. Then you can restore, and then go to using the newer version.
Hi mfrazzz, thanks for the advice, unfortunately it seems as though other problems cropped up when I restored my old backup using pimbackup 2.4, i.e. some calendar events, birthdays, anniversaries etc had duplicated numerous times. So I've now spent a bit of time tidying it all up and done a new backup using pimback 2.4

This is because its setup for an English keyboard. You'll have to search around for changing your keyboard for other languages. Its doable, but I'm not sure how off hand. If you find how to do this, let me know and I'll update the 2nd post with info so others can easily find how to do this.

I sounds as though this is the keyboard locale registry setting, I usually have to change this after flashing a new rom, so I have created a registry file that I just run after re-flashing.
If you use the Registry Editor built into this rom, the setting you need can be found in:
My Device \ HKEY_Current_User \ control panel \ Keybd \ locale
You then need to change it to the required value, i.e. 809 = British
The values of which can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/winxp/xp-lcid.mspx
Once you have changed the registry setting you will need to soft reset for it to take effect (for some reason I had to soft reset a couple of times with this rom:confused: )
PS. I found the above info a while ago on the Wizard WIKI, which also contains other useful info etc.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WM5_Tweaks_Other
It's about a 3rd of the way down under the heading Input (keyboard, soft keys, SIP)

That issue only happens when you slide the screen out into Landscape mode and then back. If you'll notice it puts a scroll bar up for a second and then it goes away. But the weather panel doesnt re-refresh that part. The only way ive seen was to do a soft reset. It's not a big enough deal to me to worry about it.

I've just been having another look at this and it seems that when you slide the keyboard back in the screen rotates back before the scrollbar disappears so when it does disappear it takes part of the weatherpanel with it. It doesn't seem to happen every time though.
I found the quickest fix is to go into the today screen settings and select the items tab (you don't have to select anything else) then OK it and go back the today screen it then refreshes the weatherpanel.

Is it possible to enable/show the checkbox "This is a hidden network" under the add new wireless connection? It seems to be hit or miss when trying to connect to certain hidden networks. Mostly it's a miss.
I had the same problem w/Crossbow Reloaded and that's why I switched to NBD for a while, but NBD seems to be really whacking out my MDA, so I'm back again.

I searched this thread and I couldn't find anything that talks about SIM contacts. Is there a way to view my contacts stored in my SIM card when I click on the "contacts" button? The only contacts I see in there are the one stored in my Outlook contacts.
Is there a registry tweak that I missed that's installed in this ROM that would allow that.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a little point with this ROM (actually v2, not 2a): In the options for messages you can unselect "display account picker", though it doesn't make a difference if it's selected or unselected, it always shows the account picker. Since I only use SMS and never MMS/email, this is a bit of an annoyance. Probably this is because of the changed SMS/MMS software?
And I would love a possibility to lock the screen while in call...
Otherwise one of the best ROMs I've run so far...

Your right it is a registry tweak, the line is
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
DWORD value named "ShowSim"
0 = hide and 1 = show
In this ROM it is set to 0 (= hide) and seems to be set the same way way in most other roms I've tried, so is probably most peoples preference.

HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone

There is a nice program included called SIM manager, you can view all the contact on your SIM and copy them to the phone if you like.

Mfrazzz, Not rushing you buddy just wondered if you have had a chance to try out quotetoday. Cab is posted on page 21 of this thread.
I notice three people have downloaded it. Can anyone else tell me if it works for them?

I noticed that all emails in my inbox are deleted automatically as soo as I read them. I have the settings to show from the past 7 days. Does anyone havet his same issue? I did not notice it with previous ROMs.

I already have this set to 0 but I still see my SIM contacts on my contacts. I use Pocket Informant and could not find any setting that solves this either.
Any idea? Not a biggie for
