Just had a response to my enquiry about the release;
"I'm pleased to inform that T-Mobile MDA Vario III will be released in another couple of months."

Excellent. That'll be bang on time for my contract upgrade. I dread to think what T-mobile will charge though. Thier Vario II seems to have increased in price since I bought mine last year :-/

An idea about an SPV something or other? Or will it be one of their 'new' HTC models?

im pretty sure this is for US AT&T. thats what it said in the Mymobile911 hands on review.

A pal at T-mobile uk cs says September release on their network. And a likely £120 supplement (with severe haggling in-store). This could all change though - it depends how much HTC want to charge for them.
p.s. is the screen still QVGA? not keen to go back to that....however if the camera is as good as on my Ameo then I'll be rather happy
I should Wiki that really shouldn't I...
I do doubt that it will release 'on time.' The 8525 was rumored to have a release date of August 2006, but didn't release until mid November. The 8125 and Treo 750 both slipped many months. WM devices just don't get approved that easily on AT&T/Cingular.
I wouldn't be surprised it the 9825 slips until at least Oct. IF August was the initial target date. This is just my speculation and assumptions.

Cool. I'm not in the the US but in Dubai and am hoping the phone is launched here before the end of August, as I then head back home to India. :)

Well the Kaiser hit the FCC and you will see AT&T remove the front camera just like they did on the 8525.....

Note that HTC has requested the FCC not release photos or the user manual until September 10 (http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=791301&native_or_pdf=pdf) -- to me, that suggests a mid-September release.

It is actually pretty unlikely that they would remove the front cam on the Kaiser. AT&T now has video share, which is exactly what that camera is for. They likely took it out on the 8525 because they didn't want to confuse customers. There was no service in place for the cam, so they didn't include it. But a year later, it's a different story. I'm ready to buy as soon as it comes out, front cam or no front cam (but there WILL likely be a cam!) ;)
