So ... copying a fairly large 20M+ file over the local WiFi network would be a good way to measure the actual transfer speed - did anyone managed to get anywhere above 360kB/s ? I guess I was too naive, thinking I have true phone and true 802.11g device in one sleek body ... Or is it my poor configuration / Linsys / firmware / driver ? Did someone already choose or maybe even hacked together a best driver out of multitudes of ROMs / XIPs floating around ? Let's compare and share then. 200 - 250 kB/s average with 350kB/s peak seems to be all I can squeeze of Hermes copying a file from a network SAMBA share via Linksys WRT54GS running DD-WRT firmware.

Hmm ... can't believe nobody uses Wi-Fi to stream the media and cares about the speed ?

i did the test with resco explorer, and i get an average transfer of 250kb like you.
using schap's 3.30c spanish ( at this point you realize that english is not my native lenguaje ) :D

any solution so far?
