Hi

I have read a number of posts of people with similar issue to myself with the recent Corssbow roms on a G4 handset.

I have upgraded to both
PDAVIET 4.0.0.0.1 and
PDAVIET 4.0.0.0.3

both of which have bummed out on me and randomly stopped accepting my 100% correct pin to unlock my device.

I have tried to disable all pin codes on my device and using SignGuard Pro. however I was surprised to find a pin code request after a randon soft reset.

This is driving me bananas as it seems to make all Crossbow roms unusable for a G4 unit, which is a shame because they're excellent.

Has anyne found a workaround for this?, or a bugfix or possibly a rom which doesnt bug out? or whether Jesters upcoming release will attend to this issue.

All info would be great, as Im forced to hard reset my device every day and restoring everything, or rolling back to ~WM5 which would be a shame.

I've also recently installed the new PDAViet 4.0.0.4 SSE edition and once again this morning I was locked out after a full battery drain.

So far I've noticed no Battery drain with 4.0.0.1 or 4.0.0.3.

Anyone able to help at all? there are other versions of this ROM out there can anyone report back?, there must be more than just myself on a G4

*****EDIT*****

And also locked after a soft reset following a freeze installing BatterStatus on the new PDAViet 4.0.0.0.5, :o/

Am I posting this is the right area of the forum, its getting about as much interest as a fat chick in a roller disco?, Shall I move it to the G4 area, or the Prophet mobile 6 area?

I have this problem also, after I soft-reset, it doesn't accept my pin... I just do no pin and get on, but i would also like a fix.

I mate, thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think there was a neebie first post stigma here of something.

I've run a couple of the PDAViet versions with Pin security disabled. But the same issue unfortunately eventually the phone randomly 'requires' a Pin which isn't recognised. Even with alterntive phone lock security installed. Its a real boner. How long have you been running fine with no Pin enabled?, I got about 2 days

I have the same problem. I don't think this is isolated to G4 devices as I do have G3 Prophet. I also been using password with all other 4.0.0.0.4's I've used with no issues at all. I'm hoping this won't settle down to "just disable your PIN" resolution as this is a security issue.

I agree, its a bit of a mystery how everyone else is coping considering from what your saying that this is an issue accross the board, regardless of Prophet version or ROM. I think you were just lucky with your other ROM upgrades that your pin never became a problem, I think I was running 4.0.0.4 for a couple of week before the chuffing thing went shitbananas. the other versions not so long. between 1 day and 3.

Im really not about to carry my PDA around without a pin, any old charlie boy could be off with it and mayhem would ensue.

I ended up going back to 4.0.0.0.4S_PV as this Rom didn't give me any issue with Password. I hope it stays that way or I don't have a choice but to reverse back to WM5.
I own an employment agency and I can't imagine somebody picking up my PDA and starts entering Tasks and Appointments, and messing with Files. It all syncs with my 3 laptops in my office and my personal laptop using Exchange. My secretary will not be pleased. :)
